I was waiting something more from her, I don´t like first single and with this second it´s the same. Now I´m not very excited for her tour even if I already bought ticket tor Paris and Vienna.

I love "Girl Gone Wild." I can't get it out of my head. I personally have loved every single album since "Ray of Light." She took herself too seriously then and all that spiritual BS made me want to vomit. I didn't care for it and it still hasn't aged well with me, and I think "Hard Candy" is a masterpiece (no pun intended) for her.

 

I'm looking forward to the new tour. I love her in concert. She gives it her all every single time. Sometimes I wish Celine would take lessons in that respect!

I was a bit disappointed in Give Me All Your Luvin'.

 

But now I'm relieved, because I just loooooooooooooooove Girls Gone Wild!

 

It's like a mix of Impressive Instant and Cyndi's Girls Just Want To Have Fun.

 

I was lucky to get to buy tickets for Madonna's concert in Amsterdam (July 7).

My brother has an American Expres card and therefor was allowed to buy the tickets at pre-sale.

I'll be seeing Madonna at the end of September here in Vancouver!! It's my first time seeing her and I'm pretty damn excited!!!!

I bought the cheapest ticket and going by myself but who cares!

 

She will be performing 2 shows on the Saturday and Sunday, and I work at the arena so I will be there again for the 2nd night! YAY

"Girl Gone Wild'' is a real disappointment for me. This song literally sounds like a mash-up of ''Get Together'' and Cyndi Lauper's ''Into The Nightlife''.

Madonna's Free Pass for Quebec Concert Site Draws Controversy

 

OOfficials for Quebec City's historic Plains of Abraham has relaxed its rule about for-profit concerts on the park grounds and made an exception for Madonna.

 

Live Nation Entertainment will present her concert September 1, and according to the Globe and Mail, the National Battlefields Commission is giving the promoter use of the grounds for free. Some 70,000 tickets have already been sold.

 

The site of the famous battle of September 13, 1759 -- in which British soldiers defeated the French -- is situated in The Battlefields Park. It was declared the first historic site in Canada in 1908.

 

The park is used for numerous free events during the Quebec Winter Carnival, La Fête nationale du Québec, and Quebec City Summer Festival. Since 2008, concerts have also been staged there -- Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Metallica, Van Halen and Celine Dion -- but none have charged a direct admission fee for the Plains of Abraham.

 

Local promoter Sylvain Parent-Bedard told the Canadian Press that charging admission means that capacity will be capped and people won't be crammed in like "sardines" as they have been in the past. McCartney and Dion's freebies drew more than 200,000 people each.

 

"(Madonna) really wants to have a big dance party. It's a big party for fans -- she wanted a big party for fans," he said.

 

National Battlefields Commission spokesperson Joanne Laurin told the wire service 'Generally, we don't accept any commercial activity, but in this case it's really exceptional. But people shouldn't presume anything regarding future requests we might get." She told the Globe and Mail newspaper, "We accepted it because we presume there will be major economic benefits for Quebec City."

 

André Juneau, who ran the Commission for 14 years until 2009, disagrees with his successor's decision. "It isn't right," he told the Globe. "I would never have agreed to do it for free. You can make an exception for one case, but then they should have to pay. Otherwise, you open the door to anyone who wants to organize something commercial on the Plains.

 

"If we had ever received a request like this, we would have taken advantage of it so there were benefits for the park. We don't want commercial activities. … We could have a McDonald's any time, we'd just have to ask them."

 

A spokesperson for the Festival d'été de Québec, a non-profit that brought Elton John, Sting and others to the Plains, also told the newspaper the group was surprised the Commission allowed a commercial activity to take place on the Battlefields.

 

"They always told us the Plains were reserved for non-profit organizations or exceptional events like the 400th anniversary [of Quebec City]," Luci Tremblay said. During the Festival d'été, dozens of concerts are held on the Plains and are accessible with a festival pass ($65 for 11 days).

 

The Commission's Laurin said the promoters will pay for security at the park and the clean up.

 

Tickets for the concert are presently on sale, for $55 to $250, plus service charges.

 

Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's publicist, told Billboard neither she nor Madonna would comment. Emails to executives at Live Nation Canada did not receive replies.

I think when Celine gave a free concert there, the Quebec City was not very happy. I forgot what's the problem, but I think I've heard some negative news about it. So why would they accept Madonna to charge so much for her show?

I heard the album, and I am sorry to say it, but the album SUCKS!

 

The songs are boring and all sound so alike I am glad I didn't get tickets to the tour

 

And OMFD! On some songs she is soooo out of tune!

Alex, this has nothing to do with me being a fan of Céline

 

I am a fan of Madonna too! I LOOOOOVE Ray of light and Music, I play Something to remember a lot (even though her vocals aren't the best everywhere). I love a great deal of American life and Confessions on the Dancefloor was really good too! Hard Candy didn't appeal to me though and this new album sounds even worse to me.

 

I seriously wonder why it gets so many good reviews, cos sorry I don't hear it! Maybe this album get a bit better if you play it more, but this album IMO is already too overrated, simply cos it's 'Madonna'

 

Just like you enhearten fans being critical about Céline's works, I have the right to be critical of other artists I like. If I liked the album I'd be the first to say it. But frankly I am disappointed, especially when I read with who she worked!

This has nothing to do with being a Celine fan. In case you didn't know I'm also a fan of Madonna! I bought several of her albums, singles and DVD's during the past decade but this new album of her is just plain bad. In fact it's the worst album of her entire career IMO.

 

The only good track is Masterpiece and aside from this song the rest of the album is totally forgettable.

I have to say I'm really digging Madonna's new album. There are lots of great songs on it. I think the only one that sticks out as one I don't like is I'm Addicted. She sounds great on the album though, Masterpiece and Fallin Free are great.

I am LOVING this album! I've really been craving more material from Madonna and I am not in the slightest bit disappointed. I wasn't expecting so much because I felt "Give Me All Your Luvin" was a clunker, but the rest---wow.

 

I LOVE the ballads. I love the new wave stuff. It's Madonna's magic.

I love "Hard Candy" more, but this album in its own right is fantastic. Granted, I am a bigger fan of Madonna's post Ray of Light music. In fact, ROL is probably the album I listen to the least. I find American Life to be one of her best, too.
