Ray Posted May 25, 2014 at 10:04 PM Posted May 25, 2014 at 10:04 PM whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???r u sure u heard the right track? coz there was a fake one making the rounds...is this the one u heard (the track here has a key raised up)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9E8MXsLVq1k&hd=1 I bought the CD on Friday. So I'm sure I'm listening to the right version. Short review after listening since Tuesday (streaming) and Friday (CD): Cry. Beautiful raw ballad and great opening of the album. 9/10 Faded Could easily have fit on Memoirs as it reminds me of songs like Candy Bling and Ribbon. 7/10 Dedicated Grew on me the last few days. The intro wasn't necessary IMO. 7/10 #Beautiful Still beautiful. 9/10 Thirsty Such a fun song and extremely catchy. To me it's Migrate 2.0 10/10 Make It Look Good This song has most grown on me. Reminds me of It's A Wrap. Love Stevie on harmonica. 9/10 You're Mine (Eternal) Still love it. 10/10 You Don't Know What To Do As fun as I'm That Chick. Love the intro. If Wale wasn't there to try to spoil the song it would have been perfect. 9/10 Supernatural Nice song. Cute dem babies. Especially when Monroe says she's a "chanteuse". 7/10 Meteorite So catchy and so much fun. Love it! 10/10 Camouflage Like Cry another raw ballad. Beautiful lyrics. 8/10 Money It has grown a little on me, but still my least favorite song. The lyrics are not for me and it's too hiphop for my taste. 6/10 One More Try I love George Michael's version. Especially the version on his new album Symphonica. Still, Mariah has completely made it her own. A favorite of mine. 9/10 Heavenly I LOVE this song. Could have done without the preacher though. Wish he'd "be still". 9/10 It's A Wrap feat. Mary J. Blige I prefer the solo version. Mary doesn't add anything IMO. 8/10 Betcha Gon' Know feat. R. Kelly Although I prefer the solo version and the JumpSmokers Remix, I also appreciate this duet version. Love how R. Kelly sings a whole new verse. Reminds me of Yesterday by Toni Braxton and Trey Songz, where he pleads her to stay. 9/10 The Art Of Letting Go Such a gem. Still love it. Those vocals!!! 10/10 1 Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika

Cuquito Posted May 26, 2014 at 02:00 AM Posted May 26, 2014 at 02:00 AM That's part of why I love her so much: all the pain/emotion coming out. By pain I mean stomach pain? Do you like that? Really? Oh well... Quote

PriscillaBarragan Posted May 30, 2014 at 05:47 AM Posted May 30, 2014 at 05:47 AM I've had time to really listen to the album and my favorites are Cry, Camouflage, Meteorite, Make It Look Good, Supernatural and Heavenly. My least favorites are definitely Dedicated and Money. I'm kind of bummed there aren't any lyrics in the booklet from what I've seen though Other than that, I'm really satisfied with this album and I really like the emotions she put in it 2 Quote

Bell Posted June 2, 2014 at 05:34 AM Posted June 2, 2014 at 05:34 AM I finally got to listen to the new album and I love it so much! I'd give it 8.5 out of 10. There are some really good, candid lyrics and it sounds like Mariah feels comfortable and enjoys doing this kind of music. 'Meteorite' is probably the big surprise on the album, I think she's never done such a track (when it comes to sound) before. Normally, it won't be my kind of music but I like it. The whole album gives me a very nice feeling while listening to it. It's like a journey through different emotions. Definitely one of her best albums. 3 Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

PriscillaBarragan Posted June 6, 2014 at 04:59 AM Posted June 6, 2014 at 04:59 AM It's annoying to come into this thread with all this negativity. Stop. If you don't like Mariah, you do not need to come here. The album is personally her best since Emancipation and her team needs to do some promotion. She needs to be doing some interviews or something to get this going. As a Lamb, I'm very happy with the body of work and the quality she has given us. 5 Quote
LukeD Posted June 6, 2014 at 06:53 PM Posted June 6, 2014 at 06:53 PM (edited) The album is not good. It is overproduced and there are many tuneless songs in it. And those that do have a hook are repetitive. Lyrically, you get a woman in her mid 40s writing love songs about some 'Boy'. You might find it all cute, but I don't. She comes off as pretty immature and cheesy to me. She did the same thing in MOAIA. As of her voice, it is clearly damaged but I wouldn't mind much about it had the material been better. YOU think the album is not good. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that, I really do. Several of us here love the album and there is nothing wrong with that. But seriously guys? Some of you just come in here and boast about how Celine does so much better than Mariah. Or how Mariah is a "flop" or whatever else you can come up with. It's not cute. Not everything has to be a competition and being a fan of both women is hard enough as it is. All I'm asking is to tone down the negativity. You're welcome to have opinions on the music but there's a difference between not liking something and being a full blown hater. /end rant 3 Quote
gafsa Posted June 7, 2014 at 04:43 AM Posted June 7, 2014 at 04:43 AM There's always negativity even in Celine thread, some even says LMBTL is flop. And even though this is MC thread but it still in Celine forum that's why comparison is inevitable here. At least we dont go all the way to MC forum just to bash her, and some people who don't like that MIaM album not really a hater. 2 Quote

Prima_Donna1 Posted June 7, 2014 at 06:49 PM Posted June 7, 2014 at 06:49 PM (edited) When you are fans of so called Divas you must accept that fans from other Divas will always make comparisons. Therefore the comparisons will never end. The only way these wars will stop is ppl learn that who they think is best is matter of subjective opinion and not a fact. Its not a competition. However as fans, we tend to get carried away and bash other divas because other of failures and vice versa. I remember when LMBTL came out and a few Mariah fans from another forum were saying that the album was a flop. I remember when they would say that she isnt relevent and all that other stuff. So I find it sad that fans of female singers cant get along. Oh yes and Celine fans are guilty too. However I just feel like our fanbase gets attacked just because we like Celine. I find that a lot of Mariahs fans to be cruel and now that Mariah did poorly I hope they can look at themselves in the mirror. The reason Mariah did poorly is the same reason reason Celine did poorly. Lack of promotion. There!! I honestly heard the album clips on itunes. I have liked what I heard but dont plan to buy it until someone plans to post the album on youtube. I like Mariah but I dont like her enough to buy her albums. To me her past stuff was better. I am not living in the past or whatever I just thought her music was better back then. Sorry for rambling. Whatever it is I don't care if some of them that don't like her but must you attack fans for who they like just because both singers are pitted against each other? Yes I know Celine didn't flop, and she did very well in places without promotion, however, she could have done a little better than that. That's all. Sorry just trying to make a point that diva fans always fight with one another.
