Nikosn17 Posted January 28, 2009 at 05:49 PM Posted January 28, 2009 at 05:49 PM (edited) The Ballads is Billboard 200's "Hot Shot Debut"Mariah Carey's The Ballads is Billboard 200's highest debut, arriving at No. 10 Love is in the air and on the Billboard 200 as Mariah Carey's "Ballads" compilation is the chart's Hot Shot Debut at No. 10 with 29,000. It's the diva's 16th charting set and 14th top 10. Released through Columbia/Legacy, the new collection boasts downtempo hits and album cuts. It's the fourth best-of set that Carey has charted, following "#1's" (No. 4 in 1998), "Greatest Hits" (No. 52 in 2001) and "The Remixes" (No. 26 in 2003). You have to figure "Ballads" will keep singing on the chart as we get closer to Valentine's Day, as it seems like a natural gift purchase.Source: Billboard That makes ''The Ballads'' Mariah's 14th Top 10 album. Nikosn17 Posted January 29, 2009 at 06:58 PM Posted January 29, 2009 at 06:58 PM MTV says "My Love" is the 1st Single off "MC3" Mariah Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon is directing her next music video… Celebrity couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are set to work together on her next single My Love. MTV star Nick is directing MiMi’s debut single from her new album MC3. Auditions for the video were held in North Hollywood on Wednesday with filming set to take place next week. The single My Love features R’n’B hit maker The Dream, who is also at the helm for the new album. Mariah’s next album could be her biggest yet. With The Dream (Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna) producing hits for the album, he revealed: “I think it’s about just writing an album that includes the focus of all the hits that she’s had. … She can’t take a loss; she has to do everything to the T”. “So it’s basically like we’re trying to make a greatest hits album without using the greatest hits.” Nick and Mariah got married summer 2008 and have been in the public’s eye since! --MTV http://www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtvuk/news/47...ith-nick-cannon *DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD* Quote

Nikosn17 Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:13 PM Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:13 PM (edited) I can't believe this. She has absolutely lost her mind... WTF is that? I like My Love and all but first of all this talentless Nick needs to go away asap and second of all ''My Love'' is not worthy of being a lead single for a Mariah Carey album. She is crazier than during the Glitter era... Edited September 2, 2009 at 08:08 PM by Edwin Quote

LuisMa Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:17 PM Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:17 PM I hope it's not Mariah Carey + 3 hundred pounds she's gained since her last one. Probably it also stands for FLOP number 3: Glitter, Charmbracelet and this one. Quote
Nikosn17 Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:20 PM Posted January 29, 2009 at 07:20 PM lmao this thread will become from Mariah's new album to Mariah's new compilation album to Mariah's next new album I think a moderator should re-name the thread to something like ''The Mariah Thread'' or something like that It's not about her new album anymore. MC3 will be her 4th FLOP album in this decade so it should be renamed MC4 as it stands for FLOP number 4. Quote

Bradders Posted January 29, 2009 at 08:31 PM Posted January 29, 2009 at 08:31 PM Mariah Carey has denied that she felt snubbed when she was placed with other VIPs at Barack Obama's inauguration.Reports had emerged that the singer felt that she should have been seated with the Obama family and that she left the event early when she realised that she was not.But Carey's representative told People that this was not the case. She said: "When she and Nick arrived in their section, she was surrounded by fans, but unfortunately it caused too much of a ruckus and it became a little unsafe."She was then escorted to safety by police."Carey had previously said that Obama's election had made her "tear up" with emotion. LuisMa Posted January 30, 2009 at 06:22 PM Posted January 30, 2009 at 06:22 PM I don't think E=MC2 is a flop. It underperformed. A flop could be Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful Of Sunshine" (sadly ), as even with a huge top 5 single and other hits on the charts, it managed only to crack gold. Quote

What's different this time is that "The Ballads" (Columbia/Legacy) has landed in the top 10 of The Billboard 200. "The Ballads," which bows at No. 10, is the 14th of Carey's 16 chart albums to reach the top 10. The only two albums that missed this elite tier are those above-mentioned Columbia releases. "Greatest Hits" stopped at No. 52 in December 2001 and "The Remixes" went to No. 26 in November 2003. Carey made her debut on The Billboard 200 the week of June 30, 1990, with an eponymous set. That means we are just 16 months away from the 20-year anniversary of her first appearance on the album chart. "The Ballads" also enters Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, at No. 7. It is the 13th top 10 title for Carey on this survey. "Greatest Hits" (No. 36) and "The Remixes" (No. 25) also missed the upper region on this chart, as did her "MTV Unplugged EP" (No. 16 in July 1992).Source: Billboard Edited January 31, 2009 at 03:13 PM by Nikosn17 Quote

(if i'm not mistaken that was during the Heartbreaker performance), there was this gay standing at my back shouted "chariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!" that was hilarious! and i've seen few local celebrities there (Aga Muhlach & Charlene Gonzales, Richard Gomez and Lucy Tores, Bayani Agbayani and his whole family, Ryan Agoncillo, Nina, Kyla, the ASAP Champions, Zsa Zsa and Karylle, i don't know if Regine was also there. i had no idea.)
