She is the best idol a fan can wish for! I know lots of lambs who have spoken Mariah, got her autograph, been on a picture with her, even ate with her in a restaurant, and... were asked to play in a little clip (used for the Rainbow Tour).

 

I also really love Madonna, Céline and many others. I do have two Céline autographs and I did see Madonna coming out of her hotel once. But Madonna doesn't treat her fans the way Mariah does...

Mariah´s album isn´t very new anymore hehe because she is already working on her newest E=MC3..or what it will be called.

 

So it´s time for new Mariah Album Topic...Right.

 

So far she and The Dream have done 7 songs for her upcoming album.

I really hope that this new album will be a Vocal Acrobatic album...to show the world that Mariah still has what it takes to deliver a Power Ballad. :wub:

She is in the studio nearly everyday so I think she has done more than 7 so far. She also said she's recorded a lot of ballads already and she loves 'em. :w00t:

Well, together they've done 'Touch My Body' and 'My Love'... they're pretty different songs so it's going to be interesting hearing this album.

And I happen to like 'My Love' even though it's pretty simple :P

The-Dream's new album is great. It leaked yesterday. His debut was better imo but this one is good as well. Rolling Stone gave the album 4.5/5. Here's the review:

Over the past couple of years, The–Dream has become, as he repeatedly boasts on Love vs. Money, a "radio killa . . . R&B gorilla." The Atlanta recording studio that the singer — songwriter shares with beat magician Tricky Stewart became a virtual hit factory, churning out tuneful and inventive smashes for the likes of Rihanna ("Umbrella") and Beyoncé ("Single Ladies").

 

But with his second CD, the man born Terius Nash leaps into another league. These 14 songs draw on pro forma R&B subject matter: sex, sex in VIP rooms, breakup sex, makeup sex. But the combination of classicist songcraft, wild sound collage and a muse that partakes equally of the sensual and the silly makes Love vs. Money far more than just an accomplished genre piece. The most obvious model is R. Kelly, whom Dream name–checks in the swirling slow-jam "Kelly's 12 Play," a tale of a musically enhanced sexcapade. "Sweat It Out" is a hilarious conceit about sex and grooming that begins with Dream cautioning, "Girl, call up Tisha, your beautician/'Cause your hair is gon' need fixin'."

 

Tricky's beats call to mind both Timbaland and Trent Reznor, filled with blasts of dissonance, jazzlike chord changes, and background shouts and hisses that ricochet across the stereo spectrum, and in the six–and–a–half–minute mini–epic "Fancy," a symphonic multitracked chorale. The end result is genuinely odd: at once avant-garde dance music and radio-friendly pop, sex farce that is genuinely sexy. There isn't a weak song on Money; most of them are unforgettable. "Cupid ain't got s*** on me," Dream sings. In 2009, Cupid's not alone.

I might consider buying it... if it's released in the UK.

I'm not gonna bother with his first album 'cause I only like a few songs from it, though.

I agree about My Love. I wasn't impressed with it at all. Hopefully the other collaborations on Mimi's new album are better :P

it all boils down to her "status" now as an artist imo. she lost a lot of fans since the infamous wardrobe malfunction. since then, her career was officially missing. 3 flop albums in a row + countless flop singles + 1 flop tour= Janet Floppita Jo Jackson. :sofunny: :sofunny: :sofunny: still love her though. she's still as talented and hot as ever. :in_love:

 

and Nikola, PM one of our mods or admin to retitle this thread.

I think people took the wardrobe malfunction too far. It was years ago, her career shouldn't be judged by that one stupid thing. Not saying that Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. are musical masterpieces(they're not that amazing compared to All For You, janet and Rhythm Nation), but they didn't deserve to flop that hard. And Discipline was a great new album. I think another reason why she may be flopping is that now she sings more in a whisper voice insted of her real voice. Maybe if she sang in her full voice again she'd regain some popularity.

I was listening to Charmbracelet, while I was bored, and wondered how it could've been improved to make it more listenable.

So I rearranged the tracklisting and removed 'Boy (I Need You)', 'You Got Me' & 'Lullaby'.
