celinerific Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:09 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:09 AM Dear God... MHWGO is never going to leave! And you know... I think that the fact that someone said Celine flat out doesn't care about her career is a bit on the negative side... Okay a lot on the negative side. It's not that she completely doesn't care, it's the fact that she cares more about something else now, something more important (family). And that's the right thing to do, of course. She still loves to do what she does a lot. She says it in every interview possible. But she clearly loves family more, and that's normal, because if you haven't noticed, she's human too. Edwin Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:14 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:14 AM Way too much negative around here, what a shame. I for one, can't wait for the special. And E, of course not, it goes on and on...like the Energizer Bunny. Quote

Ariangelil Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:46 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:46 AM (edited) everybody loves his family but work is work ,imagin celine working anything else not a singer for ex in an office and she have work to do is she going to say oh i love my family so much family comes first and be lazy like not doing what she has to do she will get fierd , every body has family but it doesnt stop them from working hard You are right...but the thing here is that Celine is not like "everybody"...she doesn't need to work anymore.... If I were her, I would seriously stop singing. I would think about having a second baby, enjoying my son and my husband. She has already done a lot of work for the past 26, almost 27 years... I think that's enough... We shouldn't crucify her for loving her family.... But I don't think she doesn't care about her"singing life" anymore. In fact, I think she kept singing after having RC because she really loves it... On the other hand she doesn't need to anymore, she can surely go home and retire at the time she feels like doing so lololololol Who is gonna blame her for that? It is not gonna be me... Lawna Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:54 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 04:54 AM You know, whether Celine used playback or not (which we all know she did!) I could care less...I think the more exciting parts for me is re-connecting with fellow fans and just having a blast talking about Celine and meeting new people! And although I joked with a friend during the special when I said "I feel so embarrassed to give a standing ovation for a lip-synced performance!" lmao...I would give her a standing ovation if she would just stand there and breath! lmao. I love Celine! Whether she is singing or talking (which I love even more than her singing!) I know what she sounds like when she sings live, I would pay to hear her talk all day! She has a great sense of humor!!! And although I prefer her live singing, I know there is a reason for playback and I will leave it at that. If you rather not spend money to watch her perform because you feel cheated, then that's on you. I feel content with just being in the atmosphere with other adoring fans and making new friends from around the world. The majority of us who have followed Celine in groups was because of her Vegas gig...and for that I am grateful And btw, I am not saying you shouldn't be upset or voice how you feel, that's fine. But many fans, I believe, respect whatever decision Celine has made, and knows there may be good reason behind it. Do you really think Celine is going to stop talking for days because she wants to save her vocals for a live performance!? I think not! I wouldn't...I wouldn't want my son trying to communicate with me through sign language and really feel like the public is taking his mommy away!! Anyway, that's just my 2-cents Quote They go crazy for you because they know you're true. --Celine Dionhttp://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz226/Congenialdiva/myspacelink.jpgFollow Me on Twitter!Visit Me on Facebook!

autumnskies00 Posted January 15, 2008 at 05:27 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 05:27 AM I LOVE ME SOME CELINE DIOOONNN no matter what she does hahah. And she's sooo funny I wish I could have been there to hear her little jokes on the side. In the rainbow room she cracked me up. It was 9 in the morning and she was saying how she woke up so early that day that she could just start drinking then. haha. I was upset at first there because when they did a practice run with the cameras I knew it was going to be playback and I was like damn, I drove 10 hours for this...but when she came in the room I think everyone in there forgot all about the lip syncing. She has an amazing presence. Fans though are entitled to opinions whether good or bad. We are the ones buying the tickets to her shows, buying her cds etc. Just because fans are upset about all of her lip syncing doesn't mean they aren't fans. So lets move on and just get excited for the tour. This is my first time seeing her on tour and I'll have the best time of my life no matter what she sings. What REALLY gets me upset is that there are so many mediocre singers out there that are HUGE right now...and here's Celine who is working her tooshie off to promote her album and is still barely getting attention. How do people like Miley Cyrus or Brittany Spears stay famous when people like Celine, Josh, even Mariah have voices like they do. The music industry needs to raise the bar for people they sign or people just need to get some better taste in music. Quote http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg
ashleylovesceline Posted January 15, 2008 at 06:06 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 06:06 AM Some of you said that Céline is focusing on RC and her family --- of course she is. She's a mom, and he is her #1 priority, as he should be! Céline talks all the time about having a balance in her life. No one expects her to put her family on the same level as her career - absolutely not. She’s always saying how she’s in charge now, and she has more say so in her career - I can’t imagine that lip-syncing was her decision. Again, the only reason this whole thing concerns me is because I don’t want 1.) her reputation to suffer, and 2.) it would be a let down if her entire show on tour was all playback. For an average of $150 per ticket, not including traveling costs, I want that unique, live, spontaneous performance. And as someone said before, her live performances have so much more emotion. Of course, she always puts emotion into her performances, but it’s not the same when it’s lipped. Diehards like us can tell the difference. To me, when an artist lip-syncs, it’s almost like they’re cheating the audience. Just my opinion, but I’m not going to get dramatic about it until we know if the performances we pay to see will be in playback or not. Someone said she wasn’t rehearsing for the tour -- she began rehearsals immediately after the final show in Vegas. No break. Yes, it was only a month of rehearsals, but we already knew that the tour wasn’t going to be nearly as elaborate as Vegas. I am relieved she is taking some form of a vacation before the tour, I’m sure she was in need of one. And please, everyone be civil. This is a popular board… people read this. It would break Céline and her team’s heart if some of these comments found there way back to them. Think before you post, I know you are all so much better than that. Quote

Prince Whiskers Posted January 15, 2008 at 08:45 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 08:45 AM Dumpling's threat to slap Celine must have been borne out of his overexposure to those videos of Taiwanese politicians getting slapped (and violently at that) by their colleagues while talking on the podium. This will be my first time as well and so I know it will be great for me seeing her on stage for the first time and experiencing that atmosphere for the first time. But that doesn't mean I won't be a bit disappointed if she lips most of the songs. Some, ok, but I want to hear that live full blown emotional and sometimes improvised rendition of her songs, that she can do brilliantly. Thank you for the new pic of what I think is the EOM performance. Looks great!! Quote http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/7933/celinemunichgifgl6.gif Never forget Munich June 22nd 08 !! ImAliveUK Posted January 15, 2008 at 11:08 AM Posted January 15, 2008 at 11:08 AM You know what? I really dont think peopel care if she lips a song (I dont - there WILL be a reason for it - no matter how large or small) - but for me I care if the press make a noise out of it - that could harm - and I dont like the thought of that! I just think people have noticed it more cos she has done more promo specials this time - its her first in the UK etc. If she had only done one in the US then it wouldnt have been a problem i think. Kev Sorry fro grammar and spelling- i am in a rush! Quote

stevo Posted January 15, 2008 at 12:42 PM Posted January 15, 2008 at 12:42 PM Howdie doodie everybody! Very interesting reading all these posts bout le special. I wish she hadn't lipped but don't really care-as long as it's not really obvious and terrible. That pic looks rather delicious indeed- I so think Eyes On Me should be remixed and feature Will.I.Am and released and promoted properly- then the tour would have some real promotion and the album would have the boost it needs. So really I'm saying what everyone else is. I will be pissed if she lips everything on tour. I want to see her LIVE LIVE LIVE Quote

Lisi_Dion Posted January 15, 2008 at 12:55 PM Posted January 15, 2008 at 12:55 PM Omg sexy Celine...Love the pic... and about the lipping...of course I'm dissapointed...but I have expected it that she is going to sing playback....Celine's voice needs a rest till the start of her tour so I understand it a bit that she was using playback....My only hope is that she is singing completely live on her tour....A payback tour would be s***!!! stevo Posted January 15, 2008 at 01:05 PM Posted January 15, 2008 at 01:05 PM Actually come to think of it- she's just finished nearly 5 years of Vegas shows which were extremely demanding on her voice and body and is about to embark on a year long World Tour. I think this has to be the only reason- that she's protecting her voice cos cancelling concerts around the World is something that has already happened back when Rene got sick and they don't want to repeat that.So she's taking it easy. Just pray that she sings live on tour Quote

In her first concert since she wrapped her "A New Day" show in Las Vegas, "Celine Dion: That's Just The Woman In Me" was taped live at Dion's Jan. 12 performance at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Dion starts her "Taking Chances" World Tour in February. The set list includes "Because You Loved Me," "My Heart Will Go On" and "Taking Chances," performed as a duet with Josh Groban and "Eyes on Me," performed with will.i.am. The telecast is produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC, with Ken Ehrlich serving as the executive producer." Josh and Celine did NOT perform "Taking Chances" as a duet, right?
