stevo Posted March 7, 2009 at 04:41 PM Posted March 7, 2009 at 04:41 PM She can say all she wants that she doesn't care about her career- I don't believe that for one second- she has hardly had a day off that hasn't had some photo shoot, interview, recording, rehearsal, charity thing, concert, TV show since 2001, literally. Her month off at the start of the final year at Vegas- Oscars, photo shoot, new video etc etc....it wasn't a month off- if I didn't care about my career I certainly wouldn't be running myself so haggard and committing myself to so much. She is ceaseless and I don't think her or Rene want her to lose 'her position'- even though obv currently, she isn't the popular artist she once was, she is still extremely respected and admired and successful. 70 shows in Vegas would give her a freedom to do other things and she could easily promote an album with that schedule if she wanted to- as long as Vegas doesn't hinder an album's success- poor 1F4T- I'm fine with it. Though 2010 is too early for a new album unless it's at Christmas. I want her to be successful, I want her to be No.1- that was part of the reason I am such a huge fan- because she is so ridiculously successful sales-wise and she's the best singer and she caused hype. The world has changed though and TC showed that even with a new sound, Celine simply is seen as a 'has-been' by many, many young people- the millions of young people that gives gazillions of views to all Mimi's and Rihanna's vids on Youtube. BUt I don't want to compare Celine- she is above all that. I just want a smash album again- then when she tours again, it'll be fresh all over again.
Kyle_Jared Posted March 7, 2009 at 05:34 PM Posted March 7, 2009 at 05:34 PM (edited) Here's the thing: When Celine says she's done it all and has nothing left to 'prove' shes absoloutely right. She's had three CONSECUTIVE MASSIVE albums: "The Color of my Love" "Falling Into You" and "Let's talk about Love" all each sold tens of millions of copies with HUGE hit singles from each album. In 1999 she had the biggest song on the planet. THE PLANET....nothing will ever top what "My heart will go on" did. NOTHING. "A new day..." re-invented Vegas--and you can't say it did'nt. It was huge! Oprah even said it was the best show 'shes ever seen.' Whatever Celine does next is icing on the cake. Shes sung with Streisand, the Bee Gees, Carole King, R.Kelly, Bocelli.......the list goes on. She's wong a Grammy award for EVERY major feild (Album, Record, Pop Vocal, Pop Album, Collaboration). She has 20 friggin Juno Awards. She's a legend! Even Rhianna our new teeny bopper sensation was quoted as saying that at the world music awards last year. IF vegas comes in 2010, Bring it. Cause the fact she hasnt fallen even ONCE like Whitney Mariah or Britney but has been steady and consistent is somthing at the end of the day we fans should all be so proud of... CDion05 Posted March 8, 2009 at 01:02 AM Posted March 8, 2009 at 01:02 AM Well said Kyle_Jared.... I completely agree with everything you said and I will support Celine no matter what she decides to do next, as I have done all along. Honestly, vegas, logistically could not be a better set up, its a beautiful venue with beacoup de people, and it was made for HER and HER voice...its technically amazing, i know that when i saw her in vegas i was floored by the sound quality, which you just don't experience on tour in those huge venues. In addition, vegas did have an intimacy to it, the first row was literally at the foot of the stage, on tour, she is further away and has to keep circling to all 4 sides of the stage instead of always being right in front of you...(no pun intended, though I do love that song...haha) I, for one, love vegas and I cannot WAIT until I get the chance to go back to see her. It is celine that first drew me to vegas and vegas just insn't complete without her in my book. Plus, its such a great lifestyle for her and I am glad to hear that she will be taking it at a more relaxed pace this time with fewer shows a year. 2010...or whenever she comes back...I will be there, no matter where, no matter what
autumnskies00 Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:39 AM Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:39 AM Sorry to ask this, but has this even been confirmed directly from Rene and Celine. Like...out loud? All I have seen was articles...they have yet to announce it in public, correct? http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg
Jacqui Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:47 AM Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:47 AM It hasn't been "announced", but Rene has said they're in talks with Caesars Palace, about returning.
celinemad Posted March 8, 2009 at 02:28 PM Posted March 8, 2009 at 02:28 PM Hi everyone It's fantastic news about Celine returning to Las Vegas! Although it's its about 4000 miles from where I live I will be going to her shows , I can't wait for her return to Caesars Palace. I hope everthing works out. Especially trying for another baby! Ive translated the quote from the magazine interview. Here it is..... Celine Dion will return to sing, starting next year in Las Vegas! In an exclusive interview in the Journal de Quebec, René Angélil we had himself raised the possibility. "Yes there are ongoing discussions with the leadership of Caesar's Palace who would like to get Celine. But we immediately imposed a requirement: Céline will reduce the number of performances. " In five years, the singer gave nearly 700 performances in a room of renowned Caesar's Palace built specifically for the show A New Day. It would reduce its rate by half, at most, with 70 shows per year. René Angélil still remember the unprecedented success of the show, but also the difficult times that had protected his life on this "terrible" scene with a steep slope. "Celine has suffered a lot, but our dancers, many of whom were injured. It should provide five or six additional dancers all night. " Since then, the scene returns to its flattened shape for the shows of Cher and Elton John. The return of Celine in Las Vegas is planned for autumn 2010. will eb

If he means the latter that would be an insane amount of people on stage considering how much smaller the stage is now. Thanks for the translation!

nuts2you Posted March 9, 2009 at 04:39 PM Posted March 9, 2009 at 04:39 PM Let's go, I'm ready! I was thinking last night that we should do a meet and greet. But if this true we would have to have commiittee to organize things, since we expecting alot of people, what do u think.
Shamrock_1982 Posted March 9, 2009 at 05:07 PM Posted March 9, 2009 at 05:07 PM That would be greet, but I think it would be impossible to arrange a meet and greet for that number of fans attending the premier.... Darren.
zoea2812 Posted March 9, 2009 at 05:08 PM Posted March 9, 2009 at 05:08 PM That would be my ultimate dream come true, to meet Celine. Been a fan for 17 years and never got close http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/NHASig1.jpg

Been a fan for 17 years and never got close They could do an interview before and after the show though with TC members, about the premiere and why you had to be there for opening show etc. Also, they could film their reactions during the show. Bonus feature for (hopefully) the show dvd. Just an idea!!

takeachance Posted March 12, 2009 at 11:03 PM Posted March 12, 2009 at 11:03 PM (edited) Hey people, I was just wondering how hard is itgoing to actually be to get tickets to her premiere opening night when (please god), she returns to Vegas? Will it be virtually impossible? And will they be extremally expensive as it being the "Opening" night? What was the story with the opening night for A New Day if anyone here was there and if they can remember. I am really setting my heart on it going to Vegas for it!!! But I want to be realistic also Edited March 12, 2009 at 11:16 PM by takeachance http://i66.tinypic.com/2dk08jn.gifRIP Rene Angelil xx Sending Love and Prayers to Celine

Bartek Posted March 13, 2009 at 10:46 PM Posted March 13, 2009 at 10:46 PM I knwo I will be criticise but I wonder will Celine use the same pe-recorded tracks for lipping again? Will people start to wonder why she still can sing songs like TPOL alike 15 years ago? She's getting older anf if she will be using the same pre-recorded tracks for lipping it can be suspicious, I think.

She's getting older anf if she will be using the same pre-recorded tracks for lipping it can be suspicious, I think. Personally, I'd like to see a medley of her bigger hits such as "The Power Of Love," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," and "To Love You More" where each song isn't sung for longer than 2 minutes. This would allow Céline to re-learn how to sing "The Power Of Love"'s chorus live and then move on to the other two songs. This would give the audience the song, but would allow for her show to have other, fresher material. Of course this is dreaming and I highly doubt this will ever happen. Here's to hoping for a smash show in Vegas! - Joe

celine4evauk Posted March 14, 2009 at 03:39 PM Posted March 14, 2009 at 03:39 PM Well, there's a big possibility that it'll be a huge event (the opening night), and that tickets will be hard to come by. But maybe as its the second of her Vegas shows it'll be a little easiers for us fans to get tickets. But one thing is for sure - Celine does things big. So if she definitely does go back then EVERYONE will know about it!! As its at CP tickets prices will probably be around the same price range as before. We'll just have to wait for official announcements late this year/early next year to be sure of anything.
Miha Posted March 14, 2009 at 04:39 PM Posted March 14, 2009 at 04:39 PM GO Darren, GO Darren, GO Darren!!! Fingers crossed for you to get the interview with Celine! *make sure this interview will be something special* *GOOD LUCK*
