Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens! It may be that Celine is considering returning to Vegas because she has a home there where Rene-Charles spent most of his childhood and there are many fond memories of AND and the familiarity factor comes into play. Then again Celine has said again that she is not a number and she doesn't try to outdo something she has done before. She has also said that it was good time to leave Vegas when the show ended in 2007 because it was still incredibly successful. In other words, it was better to leave on top than to leave when things start going downhill (not that the show was going to be a poor performer or anything like that).

Right now I just think Celine should take a long break and dedicate time to her family because she deserves it! She has really outdone herself with AND and the TC tour. Personally, I don't know if she should return to Vegas. If she does return, I think 70 shows a year is a good number. I am assuming that the show would more of a concert type of event rather than something resembling AND, which was more theatrical. I have a feeling that if the show does come to fruition it will resemble the TC tour. Then again, what do I know? But we can bet that songs such as TPOL, BYLM, IACBTMN, TLYM, ML, IDAN, LCMM, RDMH, and MHWGO will definitely be part of the setlist. I just think that's the reality.

I guess returning to Vegas also gives Celine the chance to have a home base yet do what she loves to do, which is performing. However, I think Celine would probably be better off raising RC in a place like Florida or Montreal as opposed to Vegas, especially as he gets older.

All in all, I guess time will tell!

When do you think they will announce for sure that this will happen, I was thinking around Dec time frame so that they can sell tickets for maybe Sept. still keeping my fingers cross on this one.

Ahh we're all going to Vegas  Well Im sure they are gonna put together a real kick-#ss show for us. I love the TC tour and it was great that she went around the world - well much of it anyway. I think, for her & her family, this is the best choice to be more stable and raise her family.

It'll be exciting to hear the details as they come about.

I know a lot of people here have mixed feelings about her going back to Vegas and I can kind of see why but personally I'm looking forward to it. Celine seems like the kind of person who does not want to repeat herself so even though she may be going back I'm sure the show will be different. Personally I would like to see more of a concert type show this time but I think whatever it is will be good.

I love seeing her do these world tours but that's not something she can possibly do that often. I would think she will still do another tour like this one but it may not be for at least a few years. So at least this is a way that we can go see her, and meet each other, in one place.

That being said I hope she does stay in Vegas as long this time. A year or two would be nice. :)

Thanx God.I was always dreaming about this new chance for those who didnt see her in Vegas.I knew it.Nice.It would be awesome..loveeeeeee her..

I hope the whole band is on stage for most of the show, becuase it wasn't very nice being stuck under the stage during AND. I know the TC Tour was a lot better for them, but I think the band is more important than dancers, so but I think the stage should be a bit like the 2002 CBS special, with big circles going up the side of the satge for the band...

Although i personally would prefer another world tour i know that it's not realisitc for them to do so soon. Don't get me wrong i think it's great she will return to Vegas, i wasn't able to go the first time round. I would like a show which was simular in style to the tour and not as theatrical as AND. I'm really excited about this. I hope Celine is blessed with a second child, fingers crossed all goes well.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Celine's A New Day success was the amount of business the show generated in the Las Vegas community. This went far beyond ticket and t-shirt sales, and included increased hotel, restaurant and transportation receipts, as well as a host of other economic measures. Money flowed in, jobs were created and the City of Las Vegas thrived like it hadn't in decades. When A New Day turned out to be the spectacular hit it was, the LV Chamber of Commerce was thrilled, as were many LV citizens. However, when the show closed, much of this activity subsided. From what I have read, Las Vegas hasn't been the same since.

I am writing this because we don't often talk about this part of Celine's impact, and how much good she has done for so many people. Her impact has gone far beyond the music.

One can only speculate what might happen if she returned to LV, but perhaps with a well-conceived and well-timed album....Celine lightning just might strike twice.

I would be interested to read posts from anyone with knowledge of Celine's economic impact in other parts of the globe, particularly Quebec. Thanks. paj

70 shows a year is better. But like what I said before, she should have one more world tour visiting all the countries for 2 years.

She's already toured much longer than she should've for more than a year, and you want her to tour again for two more years? Unbelievable.

Anyway, I wonder if we'll have a French and/or English album out before the start of Vegas. My guess is that we'll have an English one out right before the start of Vegas, then release a French one during Vegas, like they did with OH/1F&T.

Considering how old Rene is, I think the second option is out of the question :sofunny:

Ok, that was in bad taste :P

im really not liking this whole vegas thing. once was enough, i mean it just seems like vegas is a place where all the run-down has-been's reside to try to make ends meet. i don't think celine is a run-down has-been, but i think that if she continues to perform in vegas for forever and forever, she'll just be like wayne newton and everyone else who has become a vegas performer and stay the same forever, never making new albums or being enthusiastic about it. to me, vegas seems like a museum where they keep all the has-been performers on display doing the same act and routine every day, and i think celine can do much better than that. i believe that celine still has a lot of good music this world wants to hear, therefore returning to vegas would be just like a retirement in disguise. i just really dislike the whole idea.

Sorry, this post is gonna be kinda long...

I have kind of mixed feelings about the idea of Celine returning to Vegas. I think people go to Las Vegas for the spectacle of the place: they want, over-the-top flashy entertainment, which is exactly what AND was. However, I really don't think it would be a good idea to tread the same ground that was covered with AND. It would be like she's just getting herself into a rut of doing what was comfortable and what worked for so long.

My issue with what Celine has been doing lately is that is feels so..."canned," for lack of a better term. She's doing the same songs in the same way that she's been doing them for years. I can only imagine the thousands of times Celine and the band have performed PQTME or MHWGO the exact same way for the last 10+ years. If we're so tired of hearing these songs, they all must be incredibly tired of performing them. I know Celine says that she always gets more excited about performing these standards songs when the crowd gets into it, but I just don't get the same feeling in hearing PQTME from AND that I do from hearing it on Live à Paris, back when it was new and fresh -- it feels like she's just going through the motions of singing (that is, when she's actually singing).

So, I think my ideal situation for a return to Vegas would be to have fresh, new songs that we haven't heard, album songs that never get performed, and re-worked versions (different instrumentation, different tempos, etc.) of a few of the songs that we've heard a million times, so that maybe Celine and the band can breathe new life into them. I don't think those songs need to be done away with altogether; rather, I think that through updating them a bit, the listeners and performers can get more out of them. A more intimate show in which Celine is actually singing and is able to emotionally connect to the material and the crowd would be great. I would love to see Celine doing a show that is stripped down and really allows her to show the versatility of her voice, personality and musical range.

we don't need albums to have bad promotion :thumbsup2:

i prefer an album in 2012 with a decent promotion, with singles, videos, tv and radio appearances

The last thing she needs is to be named the Female "Barry Mannilow" or "Wayne Newton" ----shes so much better than that.

They have so much money now, why do Vegas again?......as much as she can put on a great show....Vegas still has a negative conotation.

Again, I said it before, if she does vegas she needs to do a very limited amonut of shows per year, and keep her self in the spotlight with appearance and concerts elsewhere just like Elton John.

Whether she's in Vegas or not, she's not gonna promote the material, and Sony isn't gonna give a crap. The first Vegas run has put them both into a zone of no promotion.
