Allie Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:15 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:15 PM (edited) [start of rant] For those who are complaining that "everyone can't go to Vegas/She should do a worldtour so that I can see her/what about her fans?!/". Excuse me (no, scratch that, I am not apologizing for what I'm about to say) but comments like that make be sick. The woman has been on the road for a YEAR. Her young son has been flown all over the world seeing his mother surrounded by screaming people and photographers for twelve MONTHS. Can you imagine what that's like? The kid deserves a normal life with his parents to himself, and to sleep in the same bed everynight, go to school and have friends over.. And there are people who are selfish enough to want them back on the road AGAIN? Serisoulsy? And no, the majority of the people on this planet can't afford a Vegas trip, I will not be able to go again, but so what? That's MY problem, who the h*** am I to want her to come to ME? And "why Vegas, AGAIN?! Why not Paris or somewhere in this or this continent".. Well, first of all it's been the hometown to RC, they most likely LIKE it there, and again: who are we to complain? If it doesn't suit us, we don't HAVE to go.. they're not making us.. *sigh* some people [rant over] I completely agree. No matter what she does, there's always a few people on this board for FANS who have negative or disrespectful comments. Sure, not everyone is going to like every single thing she does but there's no need for them to be rude about it. I was so happy when I read this but I'm afraid to keep reading this thread because it kills my mood with all the negativity. She (and her family) deserve some sort of stability instead of being on tour and in a new place every day. I couldn't be happy if she were to tour again and not be happy about it. I think we all should just be happy that she's still going to sing, she's been doing this for years and as much as she loves being on stage, I'd imagine she's getting a little tired of it after almost 30 years. As long as she's happy with what she's doing, I'm happy too Edited February 6, 2009 at 09:17 PM by Allie
Lymon Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:21 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:21 PM (edited) (The following is my personal opinion, which I am trying to keep optimistic but I have doubts about the whole thing. It is me venting my feelings, so if you do not like that, do not read. I will stay respectful, though) While i'm glad Celine will get some stability again, I have to wonder why Vegas. Sure, it's RC's hometown and everything, but what about Paris or Montreal or New York? That would be "taking chances", for sure. And during the 3/4 of the year, I have a feeling Celine will be doing as much real promo as she did during the TC promo tour. Her team is in the stone age and she needs to get new people around her, including Rene, who seems to be intent on keeping her the 90's MHWGO singer for the rest of her life. Celine obviously isn't a robot and everybody controls her, but sometimes I wonder if she really wants everything she does, or if she's just trying to make Rene happy. I worry about her voice out there, too. The live songs she did during A New Day were a hit or miss, she would either sing them perfectly or it would be a nasal disaster(A New Day live CD for example). And the ever beloved playback discussion will also be at hand when the show opens, how much of it is used and is it the same old tracks. During A New Day she was very choreographed and she had to time everything, so there wasn't all this time for audience interaction. That was pretty sad, and it might be the case here again. (End of vent) Anyway, I hope this show will be different from A New Day and she sings more new songs and shows who she really is. Do maybe two or three hits, and not MHWGO as the encore(near the end sure, but not the encore). I want the haters to see that she's more than a ballad lady. I can't wait for her break, she needs it badly. It was a mistake to go on such a huge tour after 5 years of Vegas, and i'm glad she'll finally be able to rest. I'm incredibly happy that the embryo will be implanted so soon, I only hope the best for her in her journey to have her 2nd child! Alex_Incognito Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:37 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:37 PM I think some people should look beyond Celine for the happiness in our lives. She's done enough. Let her breathe. Find your own joys, she's still here. "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
Chellbie Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:53 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 09:53 PM I don't want to be selfish and wish against the pregnancy. I Would actually be happier if she did get pregnant and the whole vegas thing was pushed back a year or so more. Atleast when she came back she'd be even HAPPIER than before and a happy Celine is a happy fan-base =) So, i'm pro-pregnancy lol.. and def. pro vegas because even all you out there who dont want vegas to happen, atleast its not retirement and we should all be thankful for that! =) Thankful for these moments with Celine...Friday, July 23rd, 2005 - Las Vegas NVTuesday, January 13th, 2009- Nashville TNSaturday, January 17th, 2009 - Atlanta GATuesday, January 20th, 2009 - Raleigh NCFriday, January 23rd,2009 - Miami FLTuesday, February 24th,2009 - Denver COThursday, February 26th,2009 - Omaha NEWednesday, February 3rd, 2010 - Chicago, ILhttp://i42.tinypic.com/293k31j.jpg

Timster Posted February 6, 2009 at 10:12 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 10:12 PM I'm so excited that Celine's returning to Vegas! I just hope the show is totally different from A New Day. Less dancers, less theatrical, more modern and funky like Taking Chances Tour. Anyone agree? We need lots of up-tempo songs from One Heart etc that people love, but have never been performed live. I think only a few major hits should be included, such as My Heart Will Go On and Because You Loved Me. All By Myself might be good too. celine4evauk Posted February 6, 2009 at 11:04 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 11:04 PM Ok. This has certainly got people talking!!! I don't think for one second Rene would have announced anything that Celine didn't know about, or want to do. Sony need a kick up the **** - we all know that - but that's for Rene etc to deal with (if they agree). I'm pretty sure that, as AND was soooo successful, the new show will be exactly that. New. They know they can't bow out from the show, and then 2 years later revive it. People have the dvd - why travel to Vegas to see it?? Whether it'll be the show we all want though remains to be seen. I agree to a certain extent about why Vegas again, and not somewhere else. I'd love a Montreal based show also. But yes, Vegas is RC home, but maybe part of it is cos the house prices in LV have dropped massively. It wouldn't be easy to sell their house, which they were going to do. And lastly for the people moaning about Vegas the first time round and (hopefully) the second time:I just wonder how many of you bought the cd and dvd??? Its one thing to say you hate the show, never went, never will go, but if it wasn't for people like me who did go, and kept going to see the show we would never have had the dvd. Its the same as the TC dvd - if the tour wasn't successful they wouldn't have filmed it. Let's just wait and see what is announced next!!! I personally CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
Frida Posted February 6, 2009 at 11:15 PM Posted February 6, 2009 at 11:15 PM Vegas is also a city that never sleeps, with I guess millions and millions of visitors.. Shaun Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:19 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:19 AM Vegas again eh. Didn't see that one coming. What will Celine be remembered for in decades to come? Its the same as the TC dvd - if the tour wasn't successful they wouldn't have filmed it. Let's just wait and see what is announced next!!! I personally CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I agree with most of what you posted. I personally think they chose Vegas as an "option" (if Céline doesn't get pregnant of course) because the 20 or more people very close to them(musicians, technicians, chorists) have all houses in Vegas and I read Mégo saying that they're all going to go back and keep their houses for a while because now isn't the time to sell at all. We have to remember that Céline(and René) feel responsible for all those people close to them which have made a living for decades working with them. They all have families and all and they are family for Céline and René. On this tour there were more than 150 people working, 90% of them are Québecers. We'd be surprise how much Céline and René are loyal people and very much care about the well being of people around them. They are all going to do other projects for a while but surely hoping for Céline's return at one point. As well I'm sure Céline wants to continue working with all those professional friends she has became close to also and she needs them as they contribute to her happiness as she said before. I'm very surprise how this news(which is not a news in my opinion) is making people talk because we haven't learned "anything" that we didn't know already. Months ago René said he had discussions with Ceasar's for Céline to return maybe at some point(and those discussions begun already weeks after Céline left Vegas). Also when René talks today about maybe Vegas in Autumn 2010, it means that they will take that year and a half(at least) that we already known they would take. René didn't announce Céline would go back, he said that he was discussing that possibility with them if their priority plan of Céline getting pregnant didn't work. So we'll have to wait like some of you said because we know nothing more today than we did yesterday. P.S. Céline herself isn't in a hurry to sell their house in Vegas because it's RC's home and I really don't think they need the money at all or even to live in it at all to keep it for ever. It's different of course for people that surrounds them. Edited February 7, 2009 at 12:46 AM by Lou555
JP Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:28 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:28 AM I'm so happy!!I'll be there for sure, the night of the premiere, with hopefully, a new show, and new songs! And yes, stop blaming Rene. Celine is almost 41 y/o, if she doesn't want to, she will say it, she's not a little girl anymore. She just love doing shows more than anything else, as we can see! http://static-illicoweb.videotron.com/illicoweb/static/webtv/images/content/player/TVA_Celine_Dion_Sans_Attendre_Vf_WT_Poster.jpg
LVCeline Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:46 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:46 AM I'm actually really happy! Vegas is practically the only time I get to see her live! And they'll surely change up the show and come up with something entirely different, so I can't wait! 70 shows a year is more than manageable!
takeachance Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:47 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 12:47 AM (edited) People need to accept Vegas , it was obvious she was going back there, what else did anyone expect . No one is really gunna be lucky enough to have her show so close at hand .Like Paris is totally unrealistic, her show should be in Ireland!!! ???That would be central!!! I dont think so. Vegas is the furthest place from me , but I think its a cool place and Celine and Vegas go hand in hand!I really really hope she has baby too and am willing to wait years for Vegas ! I was never at her show in Vegas but i love las vegas and cant wait2 be there at her show prefably in front row ! ! Tyler1991 Posted February 7, 2009 at 01:19 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 01:19 AM (edited) I didn't read all of the posts, because I'm quite disgusted by how negative some of you are towards Vegas. Fact of the matter is this - Celine is not a 30 year old woman whose #1 passion and whole life revolves around singing. Those days of doing world tours for what, 9 years straight(?), are over.... She's 40 and her #1 passion is her family. What the Vegas gig allows her to do over another world tour is stability. 70 shows a year is great! Not to many, Not to few...it gives her plenty of time to do as she pleases, and her being in the same location is great for RC (and the new baby if she does get pregnant). Don't you all remember when she almost called AND off because she was all about being a mother, but Rene couldn't cancel it......it just shows how lucky we are to be getting any Celine. And for her personally, as a mother, this is much better then another world tour. Just think of this quote from a year or so ago, "my vocal cords don't lead my life anymore." ashleylovesceline Posted February 7, 2009 at 03:42 AM Posted February 7, 2009 at 03:42 AM (edited) I loved Vegas, and I am happy she will return. It works for the majority of fans that they can save up and plan to travel there & it works for her so she can be home every night to tuck in RC, and hopefully another baby by then too. Not to mention the added bonus of meeting so many of you wonderful Céline friends! I'm happy also that someone (whether it was Céline, René, or both) are cutting back on how many shows she'll do per year. As much as we loved 150+ shows a year, five days a week - it was hard on her and everyone else involved. So she should enjoy it much more the second time around. I just hope tickets aren't too hard to get, or too expensive. Or TeamCéline restricts us to two tickets for the whole year again... So are we going to have to share front row seats and sit on each other's laps on opening night? They shouldn't have a problem with that, should they? I'm going to miss her... no Céline for over a year! It helps to know that she WILL return. But she deserves this break, she's given us much more than we could have anticipated in the last 6-7 years. We'll be waaaiting for her... Edited February 7, 2009 at 03:47 AM by ashleylovesceline
