Celine's comeback to Las Vegas - March 2011

You know what, I would absolutely love to see her in Vegas again and I would absolutely love for her to either get pregnant again or be able to have a nice, comfortable break for as long as she needs. Of course, like everyone, I would miss her greatly, but many of us have to realize how lucky we are that, after all these years, she's still touring and traveling all over the world for us. I can't deny that I won't be disappointed if 3-5 (or more) years go by and I can't see her, but I am so blessed to have been able to see her 13 times since 1996 and that I've been front row and touched her hand during two really freakishly coincidental circumstances.

 

I'm a firm believer in things happening for a reason and that whatever is meant to be is truly meant to be. Personally, I really hope this embryo takes because I know how happy it would make her, but if it's not right, then we all know she'll be totally happy and content with her life right now. I think we can all agree that Celine is probably one of the most gracious and thankful people (or celebrity) we know, but we also have to wish her loads of happiness in whatever comes her way.

Even Teamceline tickets are going to start in the 7th row "like usual"?? Are you talking about Teamceline seats for the TC Tour or for the new LV show? I'm asking only because the "worst" row I ever got from Teamceline/ticketmaster for AND was 4th row once and the other times 2nd and 3rd rows and a friend got first row a couple times. Never a problem getting close seats. Anyway, if you are referring to seats for the new LV show, how can you possibly know that already? Thanks...

vegas brings stability for her.. I understand. And she deserved some rest and time to have another child.

But Las Vegas is also so far away and too expensive! I have to take a plane and buy a concert ticket and a hotel. This is way too expensive.

I never had the feeling to visit Vegas. Hope she works on some nice albums in the meanwhile.

And I know there are people here who seem to have all the money in the world and buy themselves 10 concerts or more.

they probably can afford that but not all people can or want to.

 

Btw the Vegas dvd.is it all live ? If she is really going back to Vegas -

I love to see her LIVE once again. No lipsynching and please not the same old songs.

not the version she sings in a lower octave. As long as she performs that song LIVE it has been a lowered toneversion of the song

not the exact pitch! It would sound so much better in the same pitch though.

Thanks for the news! I'm glad it's only 70 shows a year. I just wish I could go and see Céline in Vegas. *sigh* But I really want her to take a long break first. And I hope there'll be another baby.

The good thing about Vegas is that we as fan know that if we want to see her then we know exactly what we have to do and where we have to go. There's no waiting for a tour to be announced or anything. I just pray she keeps her international music career going and keeps making new music, releasing singles and promoting her work.

 

Hopefully the new Vegas show is entirely different to "A New Day..." though. They know what works there and what doesn't and hopefully Dragone isn't involved this time. People went to see Celine and will go back to see Celine, not fake trees.

I didnt get to go to vegas and am really really regreftul of it, but didnt have my own money, but if she is going back to vegas in the next few years then i wil DEFINATELY BE THERE!!!, nothing wil stand in my way. Us fans who love her so much cannot let an opportunity like seeing her in vegas go by. It is something we have to do in our lifetime and most of you are so lucky to have seen her in Vegas :-)

 

I really hope she does have another child thou, and hopefully a little girl (wonder what she will call her?) She is an awesome mom!

Hard to really tell whether it's good or bad. I suppose they're doing it 'cause they realise she might be easily forgotten, since none of her albums in this century(apart from A New Day Has Come) were very successful. The only thing that I can see is a whole new show with completely different and SMART music. I think it would be quite tasteful to make a LIVE (LIVE!!! for God's sake) medley of her old hits like TPOL, BYLM, MHWGO, WDMHBN with mellow arrangements and no vocal struggling. That will be enough of her old hits!

 

And she HAS to release a new album that will really show her awsome musicality and her ability to work in different styles (a good jazz album will do). Maybe she could do like different sections - Jazz/Pop/Rock/Classical e.t.c.

 

Reducing the amount of lipsyncing should be their aim as well(I hope they read this forum and understand that it's easily spotted now and they can trick no-one). Just 70 shows a year will be an inadequate excuse for lipping, even the most devoted fans will not be able to defend her...

 

But still, I'm very excited about the new show, hope that when I get my DVD(if there will be any DVDs then:)) in like 2013 I will not be disappointed as I was with "A new day..."

I regret not seeing A New Day, but I was too young (I'm almost 15 now), and with school and money it made things difficult to arrange. Now I'm a bit older I'll be able to go to Las Vegas with my dad sometime...

Didn't she say 200 shows a year in 2003 at the "100 sold out shows" party?..Besides, as I remember she performed more than 700 SOLD-OUT shows overall, which makes it at least 150 a year.

Really? I didn't know there were people who still wanted her to perform these songs (especially taking into consideraton her perfect lipped or a bit nasal versions).

Of course, I would like to hear her sing them like she used to back in the 90s, but it doesn't seem possible (unless she starts exercising again).

We don't know what kind of show, we don't know anything about the setlist, we don't know the frequency of the shows.. we don't know what she will do with the rest of her time...

 

But that doesn't take away that I'm still not enthusiastic about it.. It's still the other side of the world and it is way more expensive than going to a tour concert an hour away from you. Not to mention the health problems she suffered during her first run.

 

But they (she.. he.. doesn't make a difference) they made the decision for various reasons, some of which we probably don't even know about. I'm sure they're aware of the fan criticisms too.. That's also the reason why I think the new show will be very different from the previous ones. She can't do 700 shows during five years.. leave for three years.. and then come back and do exactly the same or very similar..

 

We can only wait till 2010 to see what will happen. In the meantime let's wish her a long well-deserved break, a new baby (girl ) and let's hope she'll come back stronger then ever, which I'm sure she will

Yeah, she was supposed to do 200 a year.... later it turned out to be too much and they extended the contract, plus added 150 more shows. She should've ended on 750 shows, but it wasn't reachable (due to sickness in the last year (or 2)..

Of course you're right, but it makes it even more fun to guess. And usually no-one gets it.

I think we all hope it'll be a new experience in our lives, something we've all been waiting for. The "doesn't have to prove anything" attitude turned out to be not the best one, and, hopefully, this show will be a smash hit, and even critics will praise her; maybe there will be a new immortal song like MHWGO, which will bring her to the top of her career once again.
