The instrmentals were mostly studio track, she was indeed clearly singing live.

I can only hear the strings at the start of ANDHC like in the studio track, the rest of music on both songs has nothing to do with the album versions :hmm:

The instrumentals are live but some instruments are pre recorded.. See! This sounds more energetic than the recent orchestral arrangement :)

The instrumental of the album version is playing, you can hear it in some of the nuances present on the album version but didnt appear on any of the other live performances. But yes, there is live instrumentation, howver, it is backed up by the studio instrumental too :)

This is how a live band, and a prerecorded track sound like.

They really need to use this for her uptempos

I think for most songs on Divas (at least from performances ive seen) heavily use the studio track, only really using the live band to bolster the sound and act as a sort of backup-band to the studio instrumental

To me that is not an issue or something I really care about how they do it. As long as it adds to the show or experience in total I think it's ok.

Like in movies they combine practical effects with cgi to get a better whole.

I can't conceive how her two best live performances of A New Day Has Come and I'm Alive, which happened in Divas Las Vegas 2002, are not found on YouTube, let alone uploaded on her official Vevo account

:pinch:

These are two of the best renditions she's done of the singles (before she sucked the life out of I'm Alive until today). I don't know what happened that night in 2002, what was her band into lol, but the energy of these live performances was never repeated after the 2002 promotion of the album

:hmm:

These are the edited/dubbed versions where they heavily polished Celine's vocals and dubbed the instrumentals and the backing vocalists. I have the DVD and the LPCM2.0 track contains the edited/dubbed versions (just like these ones) whereas the Dolby Digital 5.1 track is the original audio from the TV broadcast with the original live instrumentals, the original live backing vocalists and less polished Celine's vocals.

BTW, here are the undubbed/unedited versions of I’m Alive and A New Day Has Come from the TV broadcast (same as the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track on the DVD) :

I don't see the big deal nor the problem, the power and strength of her voice is there, either in the live or DVD version. The freshness of her vocals in these performances is undeniable.

To me theres nothing really exceptional about the performance either way. There arent really any high notes, no complicated riffs, no deep and powerful lows or much else. Kind of just a standard performance of a not very difficult song.

Im much more impressed by say her stamina and how youthful she sounded singing Regarde Moi in 2013 which blew me away the first time i heard it, i mean she was 45 matching and at parts outsinging her rendition of the song from Live A Paris

She sang this one amazingly effortesly, doing what ever she wanted with her voice.

I wonder who was her vocal trainer back then that did these wonders to her voice.

I guess it was more being off for 2 years as well as pregnancy, which does wonders for a womans voice.

And yeah, she almost always sings Im Alive flawlessly because its one of the easiest songs in her repertoire

I just noticed this picture on her performance of ANDHC in Rosie's show, do you think it's an unreleased picture/alternate version of the album cover? :hmm:

Haha no, that’s a fan made wallpaper. But I think the picture I posted is just that one used in the wallpaper, not really new... I love that picture of her with that fuchsia colour and her natural, brownish hair

I always think I've seen everything about this album, but I just "discovered" this video when after the interview, Celine signs some autographs to the public and he meets Stephan Moccio outside the building :w00t: I'm amazed by the humility and gratitude shown by Stephan here, where he offers Celine a frame with the picture of their first meeting (ten years before!) and the score of ANDHC. How many songs do deserve such a presentation like this? He surely knew his life was changing with this one, unique song!

Watch here at 34:20. Love all the people handling her booklets of the new album!

Nice find!

Also, Dave is there at the end. It's interesting how he's been around for ages but always so under the radar.

And once again, it happens. 2019, a TV report about her first show of the world tour, and it opens with I'm Alive, they play the song all the segment till the end, and Celine speaks and dances to I'm Alive, to the point that she seems to be more promoting the song in 2019 than her new single  . She seems to enjoy this song more than FOMO, and that's amazing, after 17 years since its release!

If it wasn't for her new hair and it's 2019, one could think we went back to 2002 and she's promoting the single! :whee:

And then some people said I'm Alive is irrelevant in her career :whistling:

Enjoy!

Ps: I don't give a s*** about the haters who are annoyed because I love this one album ^_^

No “I’m Alive” definitely is a huge part of her English career!!

Now if only she gave ANDHC Radio Remix the proper respect It demands.

When I watched the live streaming of the first show

the streaming fell down right when this one began

When she sings that in this interview isn't it sound so great?

It's a timeless one and imo a build in - for the setlist :-D

Yeah, and it makes people stand up and dance right away. But the band/orchestra sometimes can't translate the energy of the song to the stage...

What is your take on this one so they can transform a stronger energy for a live performance with this song?

They are missing the drums and percussion of the album version. But orchestras are not made to play dance/upbeat songs I guess.

I think the only feasible solution is to play the instrumental song on playback and just leave her sing the vocals :innocent:

Thanks, they can certainly get a better drum line for this song live

Interesting...I think that is what they have with I'm alive now. It is a lot more "go" in it now and recent year. I'm sure it can be even better but this one is pretty good now.

I think the opposite that drums and also percussion has bigger part now.

Btw I think a lot of other songs need more work. ANDHC I think it hasn't sounded that great live. Slow version in A new day was ok but the radio remix has not been great.

With strings in the orchestra now it's a shame ANDHC isn't in the setlist for this tour. But if it was they will probably under use them as they do now. They'll probably add the annoying trumpets. God I really don't like those trumpets. Gets me fired up just thinking of them, sorry!

Anyway hopefully ANDHC will be added later cause it's great!
