I think, the cover is not amazing.

 

Let's say from 1995, all celine's french album reach 1 million, so every french album that Celine will release will surely reach 1 million copies. That's why I know that D'elles will reach 1 million copies.

 

For english albums, we will include One Heart ( sold about 6.5 million copies worldwide) though it was not promoted and "Miracle" (sold about 3.5 million copies worldwide) though it was not for everybody and "The Collector's series sold about 3.5 million copies worldwide) though there are clear errors, not well made and not promoted, I'd say every Celine Dion english album will surely sell more than 5 million copies. But, to sell more than 5 million copies is not enough for Celine Dion to be considered as "in" in our generation. And with the world tour that she'll be doing, she'll be "in" with the new generation too.

we have to remember that the music market had changed a lot. i'll stick to my example, THE DUTCHESS is carrying 3 #1 singles (london bridge, glamorous, big girls don't cry). look at the sales, 5.8M. cds are not selling like hotcakes nowadays. deal with it. and we have to remember that celine isn't a "download" artist. avril lavigne's THE BEST DAMN THING sold less than fergie's, but look, it is one of the biggest successes of the year. i am a fan of TC, how i wish it will sell 10M like u do, but im fine with how music market's status right now. like rene angelil said, NO ONE WILL EVER OUTSELL CELINE. Celine doesn't need a big hit song to sell 5 million copies. i can't expand my opinions regarding the sales of TC more. im pretty sure it will never sell 8M. if the album will sell an additional 3M this year, good for her. but in a world full of celine haters, celine should struggle a lot to sell her music. if this album was released during the 90's, it will surely sell M & M &M. but now? the music that conquers the charts are hip hop and rnb, its imposible. i bet, TC will sell just 5M. 10-20M is a miracle.

I just don't understand why I don't see any Celine dion albums and DVds in music stores here in Cebu anymore, while other artists' album, more popular or less popular than Celine at present, can still be seen. I think people have to remember that yes in the 90's celine did sell incredibly well,, but she didnt sell 27 million copies of falling into you in the first year or the second or the third!! its now over ten years after the release of that album and im pretty sure it sells around a million copies a year,, so no matter what happenes people should enjoy the album and people will still be buying it in five years or so,,,

Who cares how much she sells...why is everyone obsessed with sales. Ir would be a different situation if Celine was completly unknown and didn't get the recognition she deserves, however, she is famous the world over, the album IS getting the sales it deserves based on the single choices etc.

 

It is slighty annoying to read a CHART POSITION thread filled with complaints/despair based on sales. Amy Winehouse's Back to Black was the biggest selling album in the world last year with somewhere between 5 to 7 million copies sold, we all know (thanks to the daily updates in this thread) Celine has approximately sold 30-40% of that amount already, so if SALES are important to you (instead of simply enjoying the music-God forbid) she's doing quite well.
