OMG I hope not coz if:

the dance remix of the original Disney album, is this week's top debut at No. 68 with 22,000.

This is what i mean. I'm a bit disappointed about Celine's performance and staying power on the charts these days. With no hit single off the TC album, it was a tougher sell for Celine. Okay, it's still moving copies even without the benefit of a hit song, Sony could have made a quick follow-up push for another single after Taking Chances never took off. What are they doing to Celine at Sony??

Just spoke to Sony uk and I'm pleased to confirm that yesterday, Celine's ''Taking Chances'' Album sold its 300.000th copy!!!

 

To put the sales numbers in perspective, Taking Chances has sold more copies that each of the following high-profile 2007 releases, to name but a few:

I think that she will do ok and everyone is just panicking i reckon around 50,000 and she will be at number 16 - 20. I think they would have said if she had sucha big drop....STOP PANICKING TILL YOU KNOW for sure

i think people will be amazed by it,, my family defantly were when i showed them!!

 

i knew they would show "An audience with again.." proberly on ITV2!!

 

& i saw some promotion on sunday to while i was shopping in tesco

as i walked in there was a big poster advertising her new album!!

i got well exited lol!! it was quite embarassing when every one was looking tho!!

Yes I think posters, or ads do increase sales! On every cd shop I pass by I see big posters for Anouk, Katie Melua, even that Paul Pots... people see that and think 'oh, he/she has a new album'... if there's not even a slightest sight of TC and it's just stuffed away on some shell... do you think that sales copies?

 

Of course TV appearences are important too, but you can't expect Céline to do the same she did in 96-98!

 

oh and also giving interviews that matter can contribute! We all know she's from 14 childern, rené is 26 years older and that she loves loves loves rené-charles, but mentioning your new album wouldn't hurt

I don't know the sales yet. I thought she would be way down on the chart. She'll have large decrease (everybody did) because she over 100,000 last week.
