"Taking Chances" ALBUM on the charts

#21 in Finland this week. Not very good, but not that bad either! At least she's still in the top 40!

Lol at only 20 copies sold in India, and isn't there like more than a Billion (1,000,000,000) people in India, hahaha

 

 

It is! But one must also remember that India is predominantly a Bollywood music driven market and only a fraction of almost the half of the population (cos the other half dont even bother about International music) buy International artists' music. Besides, now that all the promos ( all the posters at the music stores, almost nil radio/music channel airplay/ playing TC, no more TV spots) have stopped, people are gonna forget that Celine even came out with an album. Only thing that can bring this album back up maybe the CBS special that would be broadcasted here (and the rest of South-East Asia) in Star World

 

Don't be surprised when I say that Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" is still in the Top 10. Why? Because the single was marketed as an "album" with tons of remixes for the song by Indian DJs and some extra stuff were included and Sony sent it to various clubs and radio stations I don't know why they dont do something like that for Celine here considering that the gap between her and Shakira are closing in

In my own opinion, I still consider this is a so-so comeback for Celine. Three (3) consecutive "disappointing" album sales???

 

Something tells me Celine should start to consider playing her options. I realize she may not care right now, but I'm pretty sure a lot of us fans are not impressed for our favorite Best Selling Female Artist of All Time!!!

On Billboard 200 #20 album sold 29,000 and #32 sold 23,000 and #58 Josh Groban - Noel sold 15,000, and #92 sold 10,000.

There is not such a big difference #20 and #92 albums sales.

 

Celine did great. Most of albums saw big decreases.

I have heard Celine state that she is not worried about the success of this album. That she is in it now more than ever, just to have fun. I think it is HILARIOUS that people think she would even care. Yeah, like every Thursday Celine and Rene Charles sit down at the computer to see the latest chart updates, and cries when her album has dropped a few spots like some of you do. Maybe if this was her first album she would pay a little bit more attention to that, but since Taking Chances is like her 455th album and she has sold over 700 million albums more than most artists I am sure she could give two rats if it sells or it doesn't. She could be dropped and loose her music career and you wouldn't see her complaining. Why? Because her music isn't her number one priority anymore. The sooner some people realize that the better. Also it is so hilarious that almost every comment is filled with negativity. This album is doing horrible, she could do so much better, this is not the comeback I wanted! Cry me a river people! This album actually isn't doing that bad, not to mention it has no pop hit. I will show you bad, look at Rihanna's album sales if you want to complain which total around 953,000 copies sold. I love Rihanna but Celine has almost been able to sell what she has without 3 huge multi-format hits. Get it in perspective people. This isn't 1999. Record sales are at an all time low, and Celine is holding up better than mosts artists are. We should be thankful Taking Chances isn't already off of the Billboard 200.

Yeah I agree If we think about jlo or britney and for example also kylie minouge in my country(Italy)she had great promotion,TV apperance and radio and music channels play her so so much(I wish they play celine like they do with kylie) but her CD left the charts after 3 weeks and an horrible debut postion... that's FLOP for me!

You know, I think I'm a bit dissapointed. But not from Celine, not from the album, not from sales -

But from you guys!

2 Million is bad? So Celine not no. 1, But look at other artists that was best and now so less.

We are the fans. Fans mean to love Celine and support her all the way, even if the sales is 78 copies worldwide.

Celine IS NOT doing bad! Get that already!

The quality of the album not measured by sales or charts... By the music, you know.

Celine album is great, and if you love the album- So you don't need to be such disspointed.

Look at the bright side. Not that the other side is so dark, he's not, but look at the bright one...

You can be sad a bit, but it's not that bad you think!

It's not so flop... Now, let's hope for more sales. Just be happy in what there is, not on what there's not.

i completely agree with what ur saying..some of the negative and ignorant things ppl say tick me off. Celine didn't need to make a new english album ,she already is one of the most successful singers in the world. She couldve just stopped after Vegas and done nothing. Shes set for life with everything she needs. She did this to have fun, and spend time traveling around the world with her family. Celine herself said that she doesnt need to prove herself to the world anymore. Shes done with that she wants to have fun. She loves what shes doing and no ones stopping her. She mainly did this for her fans, its not like she needs more money or success! Come on ppl, appreciate what Celine did! Taking Chances is a great album!
