She needed to get in some tv shows too! or do some interviews for big magazines! most of the people who would attend the tour, would have bought the cd already! the tour would have been great for extra promotion, but I guess Céline's really not into it anymore

I would have liked it if she was in more interviews and on tv, in magazines and that sort of thing to promote her tc cd but right before it came out she was on many things like The View, Oprah, All My Children, Dancing With The Stars, she was on a lot of tv but not many magazine interviews. The tour is part of the promotion too I think but I wouldn't say that she's not into it anymore because she was excited about the tour and the cd.

Do you wanna know in which countries Taking Chances was the most popular? I have made my own calculations, based on album's positions inside top 40 in every contry. #1 - 80 points, #2 - 78 points, #3 - 76 point etc. So this is based on points and here it is:

Mariah hasn't sold much more than Celine in the US so i wouldn't say she holds anything

 

well, you have your point, should i rephrase it, "Mariah's hot on the radio in US compared to celine". you know what, i really wonder why allof these past years, its so easy for MC to enter the chart and celine could even barely pick to 50th spot on hot 100. well, celine songs weren't that bad though....sometimes i can't understand the americans...(hehehe)

Japan - TC was going down but the new compilation "Complete Best" peaked at #3.

Australia - up to #19

UK - up to #100

Belgium Wallonie - up to #37

France - up to #89

Ireland - up to #21

Sweden - TC did not re-enter the chart but "Let's Talk About Love/Falling Into You/A New Day Has Come" peaked at #3.

I thought that the tour effect will be much better. The album is re-entering the charts for a week or two and dissaperas again. In Germany she gave 6 concerts without any effect on the charts. In the UK "Taking Chances" went up to #100. How poor is that? And she gave 5 concerts there. In France TC re-entered the chart for only two weeks peaking at #89. Another dissapointment after 6 concerts in that country.

It seems that the tour effect is much better in small countries where she gave only 1 concert. Denmark was the best so far.

i actually don't care about her sales now. she sold nearly 3.5M (i guess), i'm fine with that. mariah's sales stands at 1.6 and is tanking really fast worldwide, while madonna still needs to sell more than 1M to catch up with celine's. Edited July 2, 2008 at 11:52 AM by dhena
