Shaun Posted June 8, 2008 at 08:28 PM Posted June 8, 2008 at 08:28 PM Hilariously "All The Way...A Decade Of Song" re-enters the UK album chart once again this week at number 74. Absolutely no sign of "Taking Chances" however. Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
zoea2812 Posted June 8, 2008 at 08:34 PM Posted June 8, 2008 at 08:34 PM It is such a shame. SONY, PLEASE PROMOTE CELINE. SHE IS THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD. PROVE IT TO ALL THE DOUBTERS OUT THERE. THE TAKING CHANCES ALBUM IS SOME OF THE BEST WORK CELINE HAS EVER DONE. Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/NHASig1.jpg
Celinenvegas Posted June 8, 2008 at 11:30 PM Posted June 8, 2008 at 11:30 PM (edited) I know this is the TC ALBUM thread but since the tour was mentioned I just wanna add that I checked a few of the shows on Ticketmaster to see if they were still available. I found that the MSG NYC show & Atlantic City shows are sold out according to Ticketmaster, meaning there are no tix for these shows to be sold. I'm not gonna check every show but I'm sure there are more shows sold out and yes there are a few that I checked that still have seats. They are beginning to advertise in the NYC area for the 6 shows she has here, 3 more were added after the initial 3 went on sale. So my point is - yes some shows are sold out and the entire tour does not have to be sold out to be successful. I think we'll see at the end of this tour that it did quite well. She's gotten rave reviews for many of the shows and people are just loving her all around the world. As far as album sales go, no one should expect her to be selling 10 million copies in the US. That is VERY rare and it's amazing that she had back to back albums each selling over 10 million. For an artists like that selling 2-3 million in the US is good especially since things have changed so much. So you will see other big female artists having good sales for an album or 2 but there's gonna be some that don't do so well but Celine has been pretty lucky in general. jackydion Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:17 AM Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:17 AM I there something we can to make SONY promote Taking Chances this time? Are we just going to sit here, chat , do nothing and watch Taking Chances fall out of charts? Does anyone have an explanation other than Sony not doing it right and Celine's decreasing popularity? Is there something we haven't seen? The tour is not selling out and radio stations won't play the singles and video channels won't play the videos, so it cannot only be because of the Internet. Is it because the last 3 albums were not artistically good enough? Is it because there is no creativity and no originality? I mean, even the Junos in Canada did not give Celine one single award and it has been like that for the last 8 years. What is it that we (or maybe just I) don't see?Who told you the tour is not sold out? SONY? Or Madonna fans? Give us a reliable source if you want to prove it. June 6, 2008Celine Dion's Taking Chances Tour, 'on a roll' across Europe! Following a very successful series of shows in London and Paris, Celine Dion's Taking Chances tour continues to play to sold-out stadium audiences across Europe. This past week the tour stopped in Dublin, playing to 64,000 people (the show sold out in one day!), as well as Amsterdam (50,000) and Copenhagen (42,000). The tour continues throughout Europe until mid-July, then takes a summer hiatus before starting up again in North America, on August 12th in Boston.http://www.celinedion.com/celinedion/engli...on_pr.cgi?id=43 When a show is sold out, they announce it right away. The only shows that were sold out are Montreal, Dublin, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Manchester. When they say that a second or third date is added, it only means that tickets were selling well enough to have another show in that city. If you read correctly the post from the official web site that you copied, the only show that is sold out is Dublin. The information is posted on the Wikipedia page for the tour and is accurate. Another clue is that no dates is indicated as sold out in the table. They definately would have mentionned it if it was sold out, trust me. It's promotional strategy. oh boy what the f@%k are you thinking ? when madonna sold out.........and you trust it..........and it sold outwhen celine sold out.........and you can't believe it......... what you thinking in your mind? what you ever said and what you did all is proved that madonna is no.1 top tour artist ,right? let's wait the end of 2008 ,to see the result, okay?! by the way.........although many new say madonna sold out many place...........could i think they are totally wrong, and totally fake!!!!!!!!??????? you so "funny" Quote
jackydion Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:21 AM Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:21 AM you think celine not sold out? i give you some news about the tour so far from wiki Céline Dion set a record in the history of Canadian concerts, when she sold out all her Montreal shows in only a few minutes.[4] After further shows being added, bringing the total to 8, Montreal's audience became the largest on the tour with 160,000 spectators for a single city. At the end of this tour, Céline will have played the Bell Centre over 30 times since 1996.[5] Other Canadian concerts were sold out immediately, prompting second dates to be added in Edmonton, Vancouver and Winnipeg, and a third show added in Toronto.[6] In the U.S., second dates were announced in New York City, Uniondale, Boston, and Newark.[7] In the U.K., tickets for Manchester and London were sold out in a few minutes. Two new dates were added on the same day. The 64,000 tickets in Dublin, the largest single concert of the scheduled tour, were sold out in 3 hours.[8] Dion also sold out stadium audiences in Amsterdam (50,000) and Copenhagen (42,000).[9] A second concert date was added for Sydney, Australia after tickets were selling fast in the country.[10] Dion's world tour is among the biggest music events ever hosted in South Africa, with almost 400,000 tickets sold. After ticket sales exceeded expectations, another (ninth) date was added there. She is the all-time best-selling artist in South Africa.[11] Although a free concert, Dion will sing in front of her biggest crowd at a live concert, when she plays on the Plains of Abraham to help celebrate Quebec City's 400th Birthday. Tickets will be distributed to 100,000 people.[12] Quote

Usually re-releases don't do so well in the US as a rule. So there has to be a ton of marketing & promotion but behind it. If they want most fans to buy it they will also need to put some new songs on there and different packaging or something. I bet that was Sonys plan all along - not too smart! Quote ~J O E Y~
