I`m so tired! lol but I will try to remember some details.

 

It was the usual setlist and Celine said she was so happy to be back in NY with all of the shopping and no wonder Rene was happy that they haven`t been here in 10 years

 

As for the story behind Charice, she grew up in a very poor broken down area of the Phillipines and I think her father left, so Charice and her Mother had to fend for themselves on no money at all. Charice would win lots of little singing competitions and all the money she won she would give to her Mother so they could eat that day. Her mother taught her to sing and play the guitar, it made them happy. So Oprah discovered her somehow was was blown away by her brilliant talent and her story and immediately called Celine and David Foster, and that`s how she got on the show last night. Celine was so incredibly gracious, she asked how she was feeling if she was ok, and Charice said she was nervous. Celine said that everyone here would understand why she was nervous, and told her that when she and Rene first met when she was 12 (and she said you`re 16 and its the same thing everyone laughed and Celine kind of threw her hand away at the audience :lol) she was very nervous too, but he said to pretend that you`re singing in your livingroom to your brothers and sisters, and she told Charice to do the same thing. Celine said there is no doubt that you have the talent and that there is no doubt that your mother has the strength, so lets sing this together and dedicate to your mother (who was sitting in the audience). Celine was very emotional during the performance (understandably) and she was trying so hard to hold back the tears. Charice`s mother was so proud and was crying . I was like sobbing through the whole performance lol. It was so incredibly touching...really amazing moment. I got a couple good pictures that I will post as soon as I can.

 

As for the rest of the show I was on the "front" side of the stage about 12 or so rows back and the audience was ok, not great. Maybe not as bad as Christine`s side but there were still lots of old fogies leaving after LCMM! They were probably thinking it was just going to be a nice quiet concert . People in our section kept trying to stand up but where being yelled at by the people behind them .

 

Celine wobbled a little bit a couple times and I got nervous but she was ok .

 

All in all I had a great time (even if it was a billion degrees in there), and I was happy to sit next to JP! We had so much fun together

You know what's really funny. Everybody is over the moon about this girl, everyone praises her. But let's give them 10 years, and, if she becomes famous, the same people will say she's the worst thing in music, just like they do with Celine now. When you're young and have such talent they all love you. When you grow up, put that talent to work and make it big, they all all hate you and you're suddenly not talented anymore....

I still don't like that girl so much ... but I loved the speach Céline did to introduce her and how sweet she has been with her. When she was caressin' Charice's hair ... and when she helped her come down the stage ...

And ... well ... even if the girl did a good job with the song... I'm happy that in all the shows I've seen Céline sang it, and not someone else for her! I love "Because You Loved Me" too much... I wouldn't have liked to hear it from the girl and not from Céline!!!

She lip-synched to the track as usual and went directly into BYLM live - same as always. She sang a verse and a chorus (or myabe just a verse) of BYLM and then stopped and said "You know, I don't normally stop singing at this point in the song..." and then she started the introduction of Charice.

Gordy Brown was simply awful. I couldn't wait for him to get off the freakin stage. As much as I hate children, Charice would've been a better opening act that him.

 

 

Really??? I LOVED him...when I saw him in Toronto, I couldn't stop laughing, at one point I was in tears because I was laughing so hard...I'm looking forward to seeing him a bunch more too!!

 

 

I'm glad the show was so good!!! Thank for sharing the video of BYLM with Charice...she has such an amazing voice!

umm I think I hate gordie brown more than bush & palin...that's the best you could do, rene?

 

celine was great and charice really blew zee roof off zee madizon. the crowd was a dud though and she reacted accordingly. there were two cute little kids next to me in the front row & they were trying to give her flowers the whole night but the *CENSORED* wouldn't stop and take them...maybe rc acted up and put her off children? but she did point directly at me as she sang a part of taking chances and smiled like a freak. I think it was my shiny yes-we-can obama t-shirt. or maybe it was just my unbridled hotness, who knows. but good show overall.

yeah they were front row on the floor...at the end of mhwgo a dude in the center section grabbed the little girl and held her up over the rope like the lion king so she couldn't have missed her. also their mom was holding up the flowers at one point so it was a little odd...maybe she really was oblivious.

HUH? Most of that place was filled, I'm sure it was sold out or extremely close to it!

 

So here are the last few pics. I left the show early with Joey to hopefully meet Celine at the hotel. Normally we would have seen her right away, but she had some commitments after the concert which delayed her arrival until after 1am! The long wait was well worth it. The SUV pulled up, her staff asked us to please be respectful, as she was there with her son, to step back, and to not take pictures right in her face. All of us were extremely respectful except for a few morons that kept shoving these big microphones in her face. I was SOOOOO close to missing her. I extended my arm for her to sign my ATW cover, she took it and signed it as she kept walking in the hotel, but then looked back to see who to give it to, I stuck my arm out again, she looked at me, I grabbed her hand and said "you are amazing", she looked at me, winked, and said "thank you honey." With that, she walked in the hotel. She def wanted to sign autographs but you can see she was extremely tired and also wanted to head inside. She was so gracious to take the time to do this despite her obvious fatigue. Rene and RC were also there walking with her, out of respect for RC I DID NOT take his pic.

 

I can't believe i actually got to meet her, I NEVER thought this would happen. I don't care that I didn't get to hug her and kiss her and all that, as much as I would have wanted to. Last night's experience was all I could have ever asked for.

 

Thanks Joey for making this opportunity happen for me! I owe ya one man! More pics in the next post, not enough room to post them all here.
