WOW!! Almost 24 hours later and I'm finally able to post!! I'm so glad to see that everyone enjoyed the show too!!

 

Last night's show was AWESOME!!! The Crowd was SOOOOO MUCH BETTER than Friday night at the Prudential Center...There's nothing like a bunch of New Yorker's in MSG!!!

 

I'm so proud

 

Celine sounded amazing! I think even enjoyed her Queen tribute a bit more last night...

 

I was nervous at first that we were going to have a problem with the people standing behind us but they stood too so we all had f... the women next to me kept her hands over her ears though...I guess I was too loud for her

 

It was a proud moment to be a Celine fan listening to her speak about Charice and then to watch her guide her through her nerves...but I gotta say for someone who was nervous...that girl really sang her heart out!

 

After the show we decided to walk down to the floor- I wanted to see what it was like down there- I could see Vic from where we were originally sitting! So as we were leaving we got to see Rene!!! I stopped and was able to say hello to him, he thanked me for coming but my camera battery died so I couldn't get a picture So we then decided to try and take a chance on catching Celine leaving seeing as how we overheard security saying she was still doing some things with the All Access fans...(those lucky, lucky people!!) We went to the garage entrance, by her "truck n roll" trucks and we were waiting with Michael, who was so nice!! (again, no camera = no picture) And we also saw Claude, Yves, Andre, Marc, Jean- Sebastien, Barney -who was so so nice!! We also got to see Charice when the car paused for a moment and she waved goodbye & thanked everyone.

 

Now- there were two ambulances that left the garage...they made a point to lower the garage door...then an ambulance came out- with ALL the lights off...you could see the silhouette of people inside- and you could see long hair on one of them...the driver made a point of speaking on the PA system to the crowd "move aside...there's no one here you want to see" yet, never put the sirens or the interior lights on while they were driving away... So of course we all still waited not believing she left without saying goodbye, and now knowing she had RC with her...makes sense I guess...but I couldn't wait to really find out because I had to catch my train home I will say that there were still some Black town cars and SUV's waiting...(the second had all the lights on, you could see inside and they left with the siren's on... )

 

Overall a great night....ends my Taking Chances World Tour...for now?? You never, never know

 

Now if I can figure out how to post pics and vids-I will post what I've got!!

I`m so tired! lol but I will try to remember some details.

 

It was the usual setlist and Celine said she was so happy to be back in NY with all of the shopping and no wonder Rene was happy that they haven`t been here in 10 years

 

As for the story behind Charice, she grew up in a very poor broken down area of the Phillipines and I think her father left, so Charice and her Mother had to fend for themselves on no money at all. Charice would win lots of little singing competitions and all the money she won she would give to her Mother so they could eat that day. Her mother taught her to sing and play the guitar, it made them happy. So Oprah discovered her somehow was was blown away by her brilliant talent and her story and immediately called Celine and David Foster, and that`s how she got on the show last night. Celine was so incredibly gracious, she asked how she was feeling if she was ok, and Charice said she was nervous. Celine said that everyone here would understand why she was nervous, and told her that when she and Rene first met when she was 12 (and she said you`re 16 and its the same thing everyone laughed and Celine kind of threw her hand away at the audience :lol) she was very nervous too, but he said to pretend that you`re singing in your livingroom to your brothers and sisters, and she told Charice to do the same thing. Celine said there is no doubt that you have the talent and that there is no doubt that your mother has the strength, so lets sing this together and dedicate to your mother (who was sitting in the audience). Celine was very emotional during the performance (understandably) and she was trying so hard to hold back the tears. Charice`s mother was so proud and was crying . I was like sobbing through the whole performance lol. It was so incredibly touching...really amazing moment. I got a couple good pictures that I will post as soon as I can.

 

As for the rest of the show I was on the "front" side of the stage about 12 or so rows back and the audience was ok, not great. Maybe not as bad as Christine`s side but there were still lots of old fogies leaving after LCMM! They were probably thinking it was just going to be a nice quiet concert . People in our section kept trying to stand up but where being yelled at by the people behind them .

 

Celine wobbled a little bit a couple times and I got nervous but she was ok .

 

All in all I had a great time (even if it was a billion degrees in there), and I was happy to sit next to JP! We had so much fun together

 

 

Thank you for posting the background info about Charice... I did not know who she was! I had first heard of her a few days ago, but I thought she was older and had no idea of the story behind her life!

 

And thank you for posting the video of Celine performing Because You Loved Me with Charice... It was a very touching and emotional evening for all! Celine's kindness really shined last night! And I was really impressed with Charice's talent. She seems like such a timid and shy girl! Who would have thought that voice could come from that tiny body?!

I completly understand what you mean! I think, for me, the moment was greater than the duet by itself. I already knew the girl could sing and Céline was in every way the class act and giving human being I knew she was and would be. Nothing is done yet, it's just a beginning really. I think people are very very excited right now and they should, this girl got talent it's obvious. I think the special moments, her age, and all those dreams coming true for her also get people excited. But we all know people who have great talent and voices. It takes more than that..in the long run.

 

Charice has talent, of course, she's only 16 years old. What is attractive right now, may well be a turn off in a couple of years. She'll need much more than talent to make and substain a career. She'll have to find a Charice style for one and give her style to songs of her own.

There is only one Céline just like there is only one Whitney...etc...She'll have to become Charice...we'll see how it goes from now. For now, we have to admit that singing at MSG with the best (Céline) , going three times on Oprah (and having her help) and David Foster's, is grand start and springboard for anyone. A lot of build up has been made up to now but I guess time will tell. Many of her dreams are coming true and I'm happy for her. I wish the girl the best and hopes she's well surounded and well guided in the future years too. I'll watch from a far... Good luck Charice!
