I would just like to say, when I was waiting for my train after tonight's show, I saw a bad review sitting on the chair next to me from Monday's and I THREW THAT SUCKER OUT. HAH! lol. It was in the daily post. Typical bad review saying she does too many over the top hand gestures. Whatever, like that takes away the fact, that she is the best singer there is. :rolleyes:

OK so I don't post here much, usually just look around...but I went to the show yesterday and it was fab! Loved the Queen tribute! Costumes were great, setlist...fab show! Here are some of my pics if anyone's interested, got some nice shots!...

BUT, the highlight, after 12 years, 15 trips to vegas and trying a million times, I FINALLY met Celine tonight! She was so amazing! Ok so i'm finally back in mexico. it's so depressing to go to work again after such a magical week .

i'll post pictures later but i was in MSG and i met Rene and Vito Luprano and Georges Hebert Germain.

I took a picture with Vito and was asking for an autograph to Rene but he was busy so I asked Vito for the autograph and he said "no, Rene should sign it" and he took the booklet and the sharpie and Vito himself gave it to Rene to sign!!!! it was amazing!!!

Oh Sean I didn't know you were going to Celine's hotel. I was wondering why you left so early. Ramona was asking for you at the end of the show. We all got together for picture which i'll post later. It was such an amazing experience thank you all!!!

Oh and Celine asked Cherice when she does MSG is she going to invite her!! LOL so cute. Celine said that she blew off the roof of MSG !!

I can only agree that sometimes less is more and Celine doesn´t seem to know it, but I´m sure this reviews don´t reflect the general feeling of the audience after such a great show

AT Celine Dion's Monday night performance at Madison Square Garden, the skinny 40-year-old diva had no soul. She was all power without passion, mechanical and as unrelenting as a singing Terminator.

Dion's bloodless attack resulted in a concert that became a veritable feast of white bread and mayo, a bland menu of uninspired, middle-of-the-road power ballads.

No goose bumps when she reached for a high C, no shivers down the spine - just an oozy feeling of mush, mush and more mush.

Why mess with success? Her recipe has allowed her to sell 200 million albums over the past two decades. Yet, what works on a studio record is rarely what makes a live gig great.

A concert needs a sense of urgency and excitement. Although Dion didn't deliver on that front, that notion isn't lost on her. She tried to raise blood pressure with upbeat, get 'em-out-of-their-seats tunes such as the stylized flamenco of "Eyes on Me" and later "Love Can Move Mountains" (where she pleaded with the audience to dance), but even those songs failed to jump-start the show.

Then there were the questionable covers lumped together late in the performance. These included a clumsy medley of Queen's "We Will Rock You" and "The Show Must Go On" which trailed into James Brown's "It's a Man's, Man's World." These head-scratchers were totally out of place in relation to the rest of the set, and they just didn't fit the singer.

Where Dion did hit her mark perfectly was when she reprised the Bee Gees' classic "All By Myself" during the first half of the performance. That song, which explores the terror of isolation, did manage to sound as if it was written for her.

One of the most interesting turns in this show was the MSG debut of 16-year-old vocal prodigy Charice Pempengco, whose manager, Oprah Winfrey - that's right - secured the Philippine singer a duet with Celine for the song "Because You Loved Me." The Charice segment was the night's brightest moment. The teen was able to blast notes with Celine-like power, but she was also able to get in touch with the song's emotions.

The show, which felt longer than its actual two hours, ended with Dion's most famous number, "My Heart Will Go On," from the film "Titanic." That song is very pretty, hinting at Celtic tradition with its tin whistle accents. It was without question Celine's best song of the night, but after a concert like this, Dion should rethink using background images of the Titanic going down.

BTW the only vids from MSG are of Charise, and a few short clips of other songs. Does anyone have River Deep and Man's World? I missed those songs in my quest to meet Celine in person. I thought for sure whatever I missed would be on youtube, they usually are, of course now that I REALLY want them they aren't there. lol I hope someone had vids other than Charise, there's already 30 vids of her on there. lol

I think the people sitting behind me helped write this review. They spent the entire concert talking, laughing, making snide comments and texting/phoning who knows who! They left before RDMH either because they couldn't stand listening to any more songs, or they were totally out of it. What's the point of buying tickets if you don't like the artist? It's not as if they were in the "cheap" seats. Every time I stood up they made some kind of comment. I felt like thumping them, but I just ignored them instead.

Returning to the UK tomorrow - we've had a great time.

Aw thanks! I know I'm so excited still! I went to her hotel and missed her leaving, so went back when she would come back and luckily they had it organized really nicely and she stayed in the car on the street side and they had other security cars blockin the traffic in that lane and then one by one sent each fan to her door to get and auto and chat. It was really nice, cause it was private for each fan.
