im really puzzled as to why they didn't use the DVD version of MHWGO...

They should used the pre-recorder version of Vegas too. I mean, MHWGO is themost played song ever. People know exactly how the song sounds.

but it wasn't so i don't know if it helps... but Celine looks amazing!

i loved it, even though it was lipped. the audience as well seemed to really enjoy it, cause she was really funny and nice to all. i don't know why they said the celebrities were pissed afterwards because of her lipping cause they looked like they enjoyed it (and if they did, all of them together are not half as famous as celine)

I couldn't really get into it. I hated that it was ALL mimed. Don't get me wrong she came across really funny and boy can she perform. It just seemed strange the way it was edited and when the crowd went wild for the big notes in Think Twice, I just thought that was so stupid! It was either badly edited in or the audience were so thick they couldn't tell they were listening to a 20 year old recording.

She's been miming to it 5 nights a week for the past five years, don't you think she diserves some variety?!

 

Thanks Kolloballony for the youtube vids, I would never download a totally lipped show so, it was a bit nice to see the Q&A even though they felt anything but spontatiuos.

 

She should had used the Alone dress for EOM though...

 

And why didn't anybody ask her the only question I would like to know: "why do you lip-synch this entire consert?"

Considering a large part of the audience was made up with fans who obtained tickets from Applause Store and who stood in the queque outside for hours I think you are being very rude. :nono:

 

You had to be in the audience to appreciate the atmosphere of the occasion, which could never be recreated in a TV programme.

Lipped or not, the true fans there had a great time and none of them have had a bad thing to say about it in this topic.

And as on all TV shows, most laughter and applause is canned and there are floor managers telling you when you should and shouldn't applaud.

We fans may hate the lipped performances but you have to admit this was good promo. Despite the fact her miming was reported in the UK media it really made little difference. As others have said she has lipped most of her UK performances over the years, people either didn't notice or they didn't care. The same is true today.

 

In the days after the show aired TC was sold out in most of the stores in my area. Yet days before you could get hold of a copy everywhere.

 

I think we should be happy with how well the album is doing with so little promotion.

 

Compare Celine's promo with Kylie Minogue's and you can see that Celine has done just as well in the UK but with less effort from everyone concerned in the promotion of the album.

i thought - an audience with was brilliant - she looked stunning and i think she opened up a new side to her for the UK. I thought the its all comming back medly deffinately sounded live and they showed loads of close ups of her mouth as well on those songs. But the rest was lipped obviously. but i dont care we've had like 2 months to get over that.

I'm not being rude at all. Just very puzzled as to why there were lots of applauding and cheering to a song that was clearly mimed. Hell it was even edited together badly.

 

I'm a true fan thak you very much and even I wouldn't be cheering and clapping to a 20 year old recording of a badly mimed song. As for queing for hours to get, I would have done if I was even offered tickets.

I totally get her lip syncing or miming given the fact she performs SO often in vegas and lets face it, she needs to save her voice for her upcoming tour too. I really hope she gets a good while to rest her vocal cords.

 

However, when its a whole hour of lip syncing thats painfully obvious.......like my wife said "my god you can soooooo tell this is not live." Thats a bit much. If you DO committ to doing a show like that, you shouldn't lip it.

 

So, For the sake of her reputation she better sing live for her upcoming tv show in the states on CBS. People KNOW when shes faking it. Like, when she lipped 'alone' at the rockafella plaza, an older lady not even up on music said to me, knowing I was a fan "Celine was on tv last night, but she didnt sing, it was playback...why does she do that, shes not britney spears?"

 

So Celine, save your voice honey, but for the love of god when you do a tv special, SING
