OMG! that was spectacular! earlier when I heard it I had the biggest surprise of the day. Could say the biggest of the whole week actually but on Sunday evening I'm having a meeting with some other fans from Romania so it will be the high point of the weak. I can't wait to see them again. I will also receive my ticket for Celine's show from May 21st, 2008. Paris...so great weak for me.

 

As about Taking Chances, wow, it is aamazing! a bit of rock, a bit of pop...and it sounds 100% Celinish..I love her ... the closer the moment I'll see her, the more I love her

Seb, I totally agree with you. I think it's Celine's own choice. Just like releasing Goodbye's as a single. Or more recently, "Immensite". No wonder her family is in Immensite music video, and she had only sing this song live from D'elles album, not any other song.

 

 

And frankly, many of you say they should choose a stronger track for the first single, I've said that myself before but according to Shai's review of the preview (damn how irritantly that rhymes) Taking Chances IS THE STRONGEST TRACK of the album. Now do what I did: feel sad about that for a minute or two then move on.

 

 

Don't set up your expectations too high, you'll always be the disapointed one.

I totally disagree with all above mentioned. Reading that review I got the impression that there's 3-4 very strong tracks, maybe even better than TC (Eyes on me, This time...pops in the mind now) but that of course depends on personal taste and we'll know for sure when we hear the album. There's no reason anyone should feel sad cause of anything. First, we don't know how many great songs there are on album cause we haven't heard it yet (even reading the review you got totally different impression than me and I'm sure alot of other fans, think how different it will be when we actually hear the songs), and second, TC is a great song and if it's strongest track there than I'm happy it's first single cause I LOVE the song.

 

And for the record, my expectations were very high and 'till now TC didn't dissapoint me one bit. I'm not trying to devaluate your opinion with all of this, just to show that there are lot of fans who thinks totally different than you and those who criticize TC as the first single.

 

Seriously I am quite sure that Shon ( ) referred to other tracks something similar to "very goody but not as strong as Taking Chances" on more than one other occasion.

As far as the single goes, when Celine sings the word "say" it sounds like she's about to vomit. It doesn't sound spectacular to me. When ANDHC was released there was so much hype and anticipation; people were really looking forward to hearing something new from her and now I struggle to even hear her on the radio. I just hope this album's worth doesn't go in stride like every other release since the beginning of the decade has. I can't believe I heard Britney's song on the radio today well over a dozen times and yet it's such a crime and uncool to spin one Celine song.

From my recollection Taking Chances was pretty high up on the audience reaction. I'm thinking in general broad appeal this song is probably one of the better ones. I think it's a great single choice. That doesn't mean it's the best song on the album necessarily as that's up to the fans, but it's definitely one of the best. The full version is really killer.

i think we already know how the rest of the song sounds...and as i said i like the song very much, i said so from the very 1st time, i also like it for 1st single BUT i think this album and Celine needs 1-2 songs with more hit single potential.i don't think that there won't be but that's been said too

 

as far as celine's voice is concerned, well i think that the quality of the file is pretty good and she sounds the best she has in a long time!

I wanna hear the full song (by her) to make a full opinion, but what I heard was pretty good. Seems to be very radio worthy. The thing is, if it were by another artist, it'd be played for sure, but are they gonna leave it off the radio just because its a Celine song?

I haven't listened to the 30 second clip and now that Team Celine will have the preview on Sunday I don't think I will. It's not that I don't want to, I just want to hear a good quality clip of the entire song all the way thru. And from what I have read this clip isn't that great of quality so yes I am torturing myself, but I can wait a few more hours (after all I have waited this long so what's a few more hours).
