I think most likely they do have the full song. Even SOMNYBMG China has it, why won't they. But they must wait till September 10th for the song premiere. But a Chinese site leaked the 30 seconds clip SONYBMG China gave them earlier than expected.

People place too much stock into TC. It's a simple buisness that Celine and her managament seem to have little to do with. If they can keep getting people at $30 a pop, they're happy.

I don't understand people's aversion to her cover versions being too similar to the original. Celine makes you believe that she's the first one to sing the song and after you listen to her version you wouldn't even think about the original. A lot of her covers are of songs that the general public didn't know existed, and this is no exception, so what's the problem? Focus on the actual song itself and not the principle of doing a cover and you might just enjoy it more than you enjoy complaining about it

Yeah, I'm sure that TC will give us the whole song today or tomorrow, just like they did with first cover, second cover, possible tracklist, new 30 sec clip of Taking Chances and so on...I don't understand why some people still believe in TC after all the things they did, or should I be precise, didn't do. I'm sorry but TC is dead to me. I don't need their full version anymore, I'll hear it Monday on radio or Amazon.

 

About the song, I LOVE IT, and I don't mind a little bit it's pretty much the same as PW version. There's one huge difference and that's Celine's voice, and besides, I feel that Celine's version is just a little bit edgier and more powerfull than the original version. And about first single, I think this is great first single. I'm sure there will be even better songs on album but that doesn't mean that this one is not a good choice. But anyhow, it all comes down to different people = different taste and opinions. We'll see how successfull this song is gonna be.

One thing that baffles is why ppl like TodoPoeski are still after all these years stunned by the idea of the song being a cover. Céline has done it many many tiems before and there should be not one tiny bit of surprise here either but yet they still don't quit bitchin' and don't quit whinin'! Especially that they know Céline will RARELY innovate, she willl rather copy the original arrangements along the original vocals but that's known, you know what you get with Céline and that's why we are fans of her. She does not need to innovate, to reinvent a song, it's apparently not her thing and she is NOT interested in that. She's a vocal artist and you hear that on each and every cover song of hers.

 

And why is she releasing "Taking Chances" of ALL songs of them album as first single? Well, again, cuzz she is Céline Dion and as everyone of you knows she loves to be poignant with every leading single in English. She's been poignant with Falling Into You, she's been poignant with ANDHC and she's been poignant with The Reason! NO matter if the songs were flops or hits releasing Taking Chances proves that it is all the way HER OWN decision to make this very song first single. It screams literally her decision cuzz I bet if it were all about Sony they would have released a NE-Yo track but no, we have here to do with a vintage Céline that proved once again for all her fans that she stuck to her vintage concept and released a song with the same title as the album and a song that she thinks is the best to introduce the CD to the broad audience and her fans.

 

And let me say I can't believe when I read here words of criticism when you all exactly know that this single is representing Céline's current state of mind, she isn't a huge artsy thinker of a singer/artist. She keeps it simple. She's been keeping it simple for a very long time now with her English music and now that she's ready to come back she chose Taking Chances, yes, out of ALL the rainbow pony land colourful songs on the album for the first single. It may be not single material according to Sony, Billboard HOT 100 or even some fans here but was "The Reason" a hit or was "Falling Into You" so huge? They didn't have to but what they did was to make a statement and damn they did! The same goes with Taking Chances being the first single - it makes a personal statement coming straight from Céline, not Sony's camp or some chart obsessed music analysts and it is the best, absolutely the best thing we could have EVER gotten at this point of her career, of her commercial choices, her straightforward but charming mentality and the state of music industry. Those subtle nuances are out there for your reach. Pity that not even fans can appreciate them and catch them in the middle of their and the official market's expectations.

Seb, I totally agree with you. I think it's Celine's own choice. Just like releasing Goodbye's as a single. Or more recently, "Immensite". No wonder her family is in Immensite music video, and she had only sing this song live from D'elles album, not any other song.
