First of all, that's as pop as Celine has ever been. No rock there, my friend.

I don't want to be negative, especially since it's just a 30 seconds, low quality clip, but I'm not at all impressed. When I thought Sony had it right, they ruin everything by not realising a really impressive song as first single. I can see it all happening again, like with D'elles, when they released Immensite instead of A cause as second single: huge mistake. I'm not saying the song is not good, it's just not really single material in my opinion, at least from what I've heard. I hope the full version will change my mind. They really have to nail this one, she's got some great competition for this album, they need to release the right first single.

britney's single is already out there in full and she's performing it at the VMA's on sunday, so we have some catch up work to do, but Céline's track is soooo much better! Maybe the Céline camp is trying to put a video together quickly for the track after all, if what Rene said about picking a single to the lucky preview people then it's likely they wouldnt have any promo ready for a single, maybe we're about to get everything at once!! I think we'll all agree that would be TeamCeline's saving grace.

Sorry, but if you think that's rock, you've never heard rock in your life. It has a small rock influence, but it is pop. The Reason was way more rock than this one, for example. Then again, let's just wait to hear the whole thing. I hope it will have a great video.

My Dear, the Power Of Love was a cover, and it was a well known song.

 

Most of us didn't knew the existence of this song before we knew Céline was recording it. So chill out. It's a brand new sound to her (no matter what you can say, that's NOT pop, that's ROCK), she sounds amazing and it's a song with lots of potencial.

 

 

What were you expecting? Céline singing with 50 Cent just doing ad libs while he raps?

It's rockish, ok, not rock. It has some influences, but it's still pop. Celine has more rock songs than this one. I'm not fighting you, chill out. I'm just saying this is not the "rock" album they announced. Doesn't mean I don't like it, I do, it's just not what I expected and I don't think it's strong enough for a first single. Team Celine really needs to post the entire song today. When you keep saying to people you're doing an edgy album, very different etc, people expect that. And this song just doesn't sound all that different and edgy, at least in my opinion.

Exactly! For an album called Taking Chances, they're playing it quite safe... After what has been told about the songs by people that went to that Vegas preview, it has much more interesting and innovating songs on that album.
