u know it's not true seb . i don't want her to sing her songs like it's the studio version....actually alot of times she sounds much better live .

 

u know as much as i do that she can't sing some of her songs live this days - well , she can do it but in a way that would make people go - "ohhh she once had an incredible voice" .

99% of the people here agree that her voice has changed tremendously in the last few years - the fact that u refuse to face it is a diffrent issue

What I know for a fact, gogo, is that she has NEVER sang songs live the way she sang them in studio so it is only logical to assume that she will NOT sing any song off D'elles or TCH the way they sound on the record. I don't know why you're insisting on keeping repeating that she doesn't sound good singing her older songs - this is solely your opinion that is CERTAINLY not shared by me by any stretch of your assesment.

 

I need no further proof that she can sing a song the same way she did back then. She did "I Can't HElp Falling In Love" marvellously. She got the same tone and timbre still while not being as loud as she used to but that's a matter of taste. Less mechanical it sounds for sure. I have absolutely no fear she will blow everyone out of the surface on X-Factor. It's not even a question especially considering TCH is not an easy song to sing at all.

So what does the fact that her voice isn't as accurate as it used to be? It doesn't have to be perfect and you know for the 50th time that she WON'T change it. She likes it as it is now apparently and she won't change it back cuzz she is a whole new Céline and we have discussed this x times already in the past.

 

And of course I know you will not like any live performances from her from this era. But tell me what's new, gogo! Tell me!

There is no way Celine will sing anything other than Taking Chances. This weeks theme was number 1 hits and Leona sung her new single. Go figure!

 

If any of the contestants sing any of Celine's movie songs they would be crazy, they could just never better the original.

Did anyone think that Leona was miming - it sounded too like the recorded version to me. I wasn't convinced.

 

As much as I think Leona is amazing, she is dead boring in interviews she always just says everything is nice and great has no opinions. Also although her voice is world class it's not very unique or different in any way its just a great soulful voice....but that's it. Give me Celine or Tina Arena, Lara anyday over her

Yes, Leona does need a serious injection of personality but her voice is so good that she's getting away with boring interviews just now. As for her miming no she wasn't, she was using a backing track instead of live backing singers, definitley not miming though.

 

Anyway, to get this back on topic I am seriously excited about Celine appearing on this show, at least to give it back some sort of credibility because it was all a bit amateur tonight. Not forgetting of course the chance to let 10 million people hear "Taking Chances", the absolute best promotion possible in the UK at the moment. Also looking forward to her appearing on the more laid back supplementary show Xtra Factor as she'll be properly interviewed on that. Roll on next Saturday!

I wouldn't be too sure about that Shaun, people on shows like this (I guess it's like Idol, right?) are always stupid enough to pick songs like that. They will surely sing MHWGO and BYLM if Céline doesn't sing it first of course...
