The songs Alone, A song for you and Taking chances sound amazing!!! Always loved Alone so I'm excited to hear Celine's version. Taking Chances is my new favorite song.

Can't wait to hear this edgy, rock album. Sounds good.

Back from Vegas now, just wanted to say I LOVED listening to the new album. Always wanted Celine to take a step towards something a bit more rock. There were only 2 songs that I wasn't so keen on. well done lady!!! Can't wait to get the CD!!!

I wouldn't say it was completely different, the music sounds a little more mature - if that's the right word to use. I think her music may now appeal to more people again, and the public may not necessarily recognise the songs on the radio as being typically Celine. More kind of adult contemporary rock. The song I didn't really like was the slow one, think it was number 4 or something. I'm just not a huge fan of certain wind instruments, so I think that's more of a personal reaction to that particular song.

Wow Scully, you went all the way from the UK? How did you get an invitation? That's cool, did u get to meet Rene also? Did he give you any info other than what we know on the new cd? Gosh I can't wait to hear it, it sounds like

I just happened to be there. I didn't even know it was happening until Ramona told me about it. I just strolled up to the Colosseum and asked "is this the album preview" they said "yes, how many?" and i said "just one thanks". Got the ticket and went straight in!

I didn't get to meet Rene, I had to leave a little early because I had tickets for another show, which I missed the first part of lol, but we have our priorities right? I did get the impression that he liked the last song, "That's Just The Woman In Me", he came back to talk about what was going to happen next and it was just the way he repeated the title of the song. Ahhh love that song too, so bluesy and hot hot hot!!

I understand what you mean, it's a new Celine... more people will like it... WHo is that?

You know I have alot of friends who listen to rock music...

According to a Quebec newspaper, Rene confirmed to the press that the new album is entitled ''Taking Chances''.

He also said that they are having a hard time choosing singles from the album and that celine believes its her best english album yet!!

I'm dying to hear Eyes on me, Alone, This time, Taking chances, Let me be your soldier and Just fade away. But most of all, I want to know what happened to Timbaland and Ne-Yo songs. I really hope those were not only rumors but then again, if these were recorded why didn't they played them at preview. I love that the album is rock oriented but was hoping for at least one great Timba-beat song . So far, the only one that sounds that way is Eyes on me.

i believe that those songs are on the album, but, well, given CELINE, these tracks might not have the same sound as one would or could expect from artists other than CELINE...

this said, it's still likely that there will b some NE-YO and TIMABLAND on the album, but given CELINE's choice for a ROCK orientation, this might be more subtle...

no worries, people; it's HER record that she's sharing with US, the fans...

based on the preview, im every excited...

Not such a big change so.. Did it reminded you "One Heart" album?

some people here, no offense to anyone, seem to b getting all paranoid about another ONE HEART album, which, to me, was one of her more COHERENT albums as a whole....

CELINE, we must understand, was and maybe still IS trapped im some sort of warp, given the fact that her biggest hits were syrupy balads: WHERE DOES MY HEART BEAT NOW, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, IF YOU ASKED ME TO, THE POWER OF LOVE, BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME, MY HEART WILL GO ON, IM YOUR ANGEL... people LOVE her delivery of this type of song, yet the trends in music seem to go against that grain, so to speak...

again, im super proud and excited by the fact that CELINE and her team are trying out something different, kinda like they did with ONE HEART, and maybe steering her in a new and different direction, musically...

i think i wanna fall asleep now and wake up on november 13, 2007...

Oh my freaking god are you trying to give me a heart attack? I cannot physically wait! Like others have said it does sound like the experimental album we've all been waiting for and i'm so glad she does another bluesy one, she did Tous les Blues so stunningly that I was hoping for this. Ok, need to calm down *inhales deeply*... Not too many ballads either which is a good thing for a change. Bring awn November!

Can you believe I've been dreaming with this album? I dreamed about buying it and there was a promotion like: buy Celine's new album and win a Harry Potter book. A lot of people were buying because of the book and were enjoying the album. Stupid, I know, that's what happens when you fall asleep reading Harry Potter and being excited about the album!

I'm very excited. I hardly get too excited with english albums. This one sounds spectacular, can't wait!

I've already posted that the Ne-Yo and R. Kelly songs were confirmed to be on the album. Looks like they're gonna be duets. I have no clue about Timbaland though. Maybe his song was among the ones heard at the listening session.

lol! i had a dream about the album as well. i was getting onto a bus, traveling somewhere and one of her new songs was played. it wasnt taking chances and i remember hearing the name of the titile in the dream but i cant remember it now. but i heard the song totally clearly and at one point her voice was really scratchy (as Shon described for one of the songs in the review). and i remember freaking out and wanting to get on here and post about hearing the song, lol.

Wow that review was vary good. Now there are four things to look forward to.

First, I was waiting for Halo 3

Second, Eternal sonata. Finally a decent RPG for my 360.

Third, the Celine Dion Live in Las Vegas DVD.

And now, Taking Chances. I so can't fracking wait to get it. Lol I will play this CD wile fragging people on Halo 3.

i found something rather interesting. Britney Spears apparently is recording a song called "Toy Soldiers". One of her fan sites gave this link to the instrumental of the song: http://www.divshare.com/download/1646463-8b8 .

Now Celine's done a song called "Let me Be Your Soldier" and with the description it sounds like the clip that Britney is doing?

is it just a coincidence and both have different songs? or has Britney missed out on the song? LVCeline, can you see if you recognise the instrumental?

Well it has some "rat-tat-tat" sounds which Shon said there was in Let Me Be Your Soldier, any chance this is a leaked instrumental from Céline instead of Britney? :naughty:

The drum sound I'm talking about in Let Me Be Your Soldier is about the same as in Eminem's Like Toy Soldiers. It's the same drum, only a slightly different beat. Go to youtube and listen to it and you'll know what I'm talking about!

Just like everyone else I am so excited for this new album. It's going to be phenomenal. A cover of Heart's "Alone" is perfect for her voice. The one question I have for those who have heard the album so far, does she give us some incredible power notes. I'm talking like "The Power Of Love" or "I Surrender." I found on her last real album, One Heart, and on the concept album, Miracle, she never did any big notes. I think the closest she got was on I Know What Love Is, but she didn't hold it long enough. For those fans who love Celine for her power notes, my question is, do we get some spine tingling big ones or does she restrain herself? I remember after hearing "I Surrender" and "Sorry For Love" on her New Day album, I said to myself, "She's back!!" I haven't felt that since. Even on the Elvis duet on Idol I thought she held back. I know a lot of people have criticized the fact that she does those notes but I think that's why people fell in love with her in the first place. That's what has set her apart from everyone else. That's what makes a Celine song!!! So please, tell me she gives us a few amazing notes. You know, the long, "bombastic" ones. I loooove them. :whistling:
