I wonder if "Shadow Of Love" is the same one Laura Branigan sang on her 1987 Touch cd? Although it is

a slower tempo song but would be good for Celine. It wasn't released as a single back then. There has been similarities between these 2 singers though, LB recorded The Power Of Love in 1987 (also on the Touch album) & they both released albums in 1990 with the song "Unison" on it. I like the production on Laura's track better, it has much more of an edge to it. LB also recorded a version of "If That's What it Takes" around 2000.

Let me Be Your Soldier: Lyrics are cheesy if you ask me. Has a dark sound and army drums in the background the whole time. Rat-tat-tat kinda sound, hard to explain. Wasn't my favorite.

I think the first single will be "Taking chances" or "Eyes On me" . It would be more audacious to release "Eyes on Me" first, and I hope that we'll be able to wait till November with the first single. Please René, broadcast the first single as soon as possible, we cannot wait any more

Oh I listened to it but I didn't like it. It's kinda slow and the lyrics aren't too exciting. So if it is the

Based on the preview review I just cannot wait to get this album. I am SO EXCITED and even though we are not sure yet if those are the final 14 songs or that there are more, or that only let's say twelve of them will be included in the final pressing, I feel that Céline is finally spreading her wings and is expanding her creativity into other genres. We have always known she had it, she did so many live performances in which she literally rocked the house but somehow it never really came across to the larger public. Please show it to the world finally!!! TAKE SOME CHANCES and choose the RIGHT singles. Up-tempo, rocky and EDGY is GOOD YAJJJJ I CAN'T WAITTTT

The Quebec singer's first English CD in three years, due out Nov. 13, will be titled Taking Chances, according to a select group of fans who got a preview in Las Vegas on Monday night.

It is nice, ok, but not high quality. The lyrics are banal, but they work. The way she soars and plays with her voice in the refran is what makes the song, it is almost magic. The same as with the refrain in Je Ne Suis Pas Celle, but a totally different leauge. It could very well work as album fill out (and a very fine fill out) if they spice it up a bit, adding a little here and there.

The Woman in Me is the forthcoming English album from Céline Dion, scheduled for release between November 9 and November 12, 2007 in Europe and on November 13, 2007 in North America.[1] However, this title, which echos that of Shania Twain's 1995 breakthrough album, has not been confirmed by Dion's record company or management.

 

Dion worked with many different producers for this album, mainly on pop and rock songs.

As of May 21, 2007, Céline Dion already recorded four songs for her new English project. Rock-oriented tracks were written and produced by Ben Moody.[2] One of them was co-written by Scott "Skippy" Chapman and Michael Tait. She continued the recording during her summer holiday between July 2, 2007 and August 15, 2007.[3] The first result was a piano-heavy ballad written by Robert Wells and Anders Bagge.[4]

 

According to an article in ELLE Magazine dated July 2007, David A. Stewart from Eurythmics worked on a song for Dion, and R. Kelly wrote two tracks.[5]

 

Kara DioGuardi's song "Taking Chances" is slated to be the first single off the album,[6] produced by John Shanks.[7] It will be sent to radio in September 2007 and French radios will be able to play both: first English single and third French single from D'Elles, called "A Cause."[8]

 

The new album will include "I Knew I Loved You," performed by Dion at the 2007 Academy Awards to honor Ennio Morricone.[9] The song, based on a theme from Once Upon a Time in America, was featured on the CD We All Love Ennio Morricone. "I Knew I Loved You," with lyrics by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman, was produced by Quincy Jones.

 

In February 2007 Dion recorded a song with Annie Lennox for her new album Songs of Mass Destruction, which will be released on October 1, 2007.[10] The track, called "Sing," was produced by Glen Ballard and features 22 other female vocalists. But it's unlikely that it will be included on Dion's forthcoming English project.

 

Céline Dion also recorded two versions (English and Italian) of her French song "La Diva" from D'Elles. One of them may become a part of her English album.

 

Dion recorded the track "Eyes On Me", co-written by Delta Goodrem and Kristian Lundin, to be included in this release.[11]

 

Dion was reportedly also working with Walter Afanasieff, Peer Astrom, Babyface, Bryan Michael Cox, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Christopher Neil, Ne-Yo, Aldo Nova, Linda Perry, Nicolas Porte, John Shanks, and Timbaland.[12]

 

It's possible that the album will include unreleased songs co-written by Céline Dion: "Isabella," "Drop by Drop" and "Over You Baby."[13]

The singer will be promoting this album, as well as D'Elles, in October/November 2007 and also during her forthcoming world tour, which starts in South-Africa on Valentine's Day 2008.[14]

I am so excited about this album. I'm so glad shes trying some new styles of songs. Imagine how boring it would be if she sang the exact same kind of songs on ever album throughout her entire career.. imagine how bored Celine must even get singing the same style over and over. She can sing anything in my opinion and its going to be cool to hear her sing some songs/styles that are new & refreshing.

I just listened to the original version of Taking Chances, and quite honestly Celine sang it almost identical to the original, only sounded much better doing it. She obviously has a more powerful voice so it sounds better coming from her! I love the song though!

The title change was a wise choice and more meaningful.Despite some people's trepidation of Céline's version of ALONE, I am thrilled it will be on the cd A SONG FOR YOU is amazing and the ballad, MY LOVE is nice,but her upbeat songs will probably catch the attention of casual listeners.

Jerry Lewis's telethon isn't too soon to reveal one of the songs ( can only hope!).....

I was lucky enough to be at the event too. LVCeline did such a great job reviewing all of the songs...I'm not so good at remembering all the details!

 

We were all seated in rear orch b/c they said it's the "best sound" -- there weren't many fans in the crowd, mostly Harrah's employees. I was hoping people would get really excited and clap after the songs they liked, but it was more of a mellow crowd. It was amazing to hear the songs in the Colliseum! Even though they weren't fully mixed, I thought Celine sounded really great & this album is definitely different that any of her other albums. I'd classify it as more pop-rock, Kelly Clarkson "breakaway" vibe.

 

A few of us made note on our program to please change the album title, so hopefully they'll take notice! There were probably only 150-200 people there, so it was a very intimate / laid back setting.

 

I'm so grateful that they gave us this opportunity...i only wish more fans would have been there! Taking Chances is probably my favorite, along with This Time, Just Fade Away, and World to Believe In.

 

Sorry I can't be more help w/ the actually songs...but you guys are going to LOVE it!!!
