Bellamy Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:24 AM Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:24 AM A few of us made note on our program to please change the album title, so hopefully they'll take notice! There were probably only 150-200 people there, so it was a very intimate / laid back setting.Oh. I thought there were more people. Only 150-200, and most are Harrah's employees? So how many TC members were there? Much less than 100? I'm happy to hear that more forum members were there. Ramona was there too with kimberly, if I'm not wrong. What did you think about That's Just the Woman in Me? I didn't like it AT ALL! I thought her voice was too scratchy...but, I don't like that style of music in general...so it might just be the type of song that has to grow on me. I'd say there were less than 10 people from the forum there!? I don't think there were 100 TeamCeline members there... Kimberly Quote
LVCeline Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:03 AM Author Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:03 AM That's why I loved it so much! Hehe her voice never sounded like that and I loved it. What about Eyes on Me? Crazy beat huh! Quote
anghil5 Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:05 AM Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:05 AM I was there w/Ramona and Kim and some others from the forum. It was a neat experience, for sure. Nice that this is getting so much publicity! Quote

smw Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:48 AM Posted August 22, 2007 at 05:48 AM It's got to be the amazing A Song For You. The version that tops all covers so far is Karen Carpenters' rendition from 1972. It's full of emotion, and I hope Celine does it justice. Quote

speedy Posted August 22, 2007 at 10:25 AM Posted August 22, 2007 at 10:25 AM A good feeling is running in my vains about this album.Im not worried about the covers, are there 3 if I remember?¿ Taking Chances is olmost new for the media and public in general. The only one really important cover is Alone, but is 20 years ago and is good for the young fans and people to remember so good old song. This is going to be great!!! Quote

I'm having a hard time finding this song catchy and finding a refrain in it. But I now remember hearing mr Copycat himself Micheal Bublé singing this song and he actually does it quite well. Michael Bublé - A Song For You (studio) And people it's not about the amount of covers it is HOW they are done. New songs can be bad aswell, however some people seem to cover only coz they get artistically lazy and simly copies the original - let's hope that is not the case, and judged by how we've seen Céline cover before we shouldn't have too much to worry about. /fred Edited August 22, 2007 at 10:35 AM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

And vibrato abuse and waling doesn't bring soul to a song, it kills it. I still have to go with Bublé's version as the best one (Elliot seems to have copycated mr Copycat before when I see that he has covered songs already covered by Bublé). /fred Edited August 22, 2007 at 01:39 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

ByuSmurf Posted August 22, 2007 at 02:01 PM Posted August 22, 2007 at 02:01 PM (edited) Michael Bublé's version of A Song For You is so SMOOTH - VELVET!! The trumpet and arrangement... holy smokes!! Céline could really kick it with this R&B classic!!OK... my wish is for her to perform this song on the MDA telethon!!!! I LOVE R&B/JAZZ!!! I'm also glad to hear that it can best be compared to Kelly Clarkson's Album - Breakaway! I love that album!! Her newest album is great, too!! smw Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:18 PM Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:18 PM I guess what I don't particularly like about Buble's cover is that he doesn't hold true to the arrangement that Leon Russell set for the song when he wrote it. This song is such an important song - and hard as hell to sing. You really have to of gone through something to pull it off. Not just have a good voice. It's an emotional song....not one just to sing your way through. That's why Karen's rendition really speaks. I hope Celine adds her own "thing" to it, while staying true to the original arrangement. reinv89 Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:32 PM Posted August 22, 2007 at 04:32 PM (edited) Sounds very similar to "My December" by Kelly Clarkson and imo it's Kellys best record. Fingers crossed, especially for the songs, with a dark mood...And thx: NO JAZZ !!! Edited August 22, 2007 at 04:33 PM by reinv89 Quote
