1) Taking chances=> Pop, it moves well I adored it 10/10

2) Alone => A Heart cover 10/10

3) Shadow of love => Pop rock this one is top !! 10/10 aussi !

4) A song for you => low song with lot of piano and also violon kind of ballad 6/10

5) This time => speaks about a separation pop style again 9/10

6) Surprise, surprise =>Pop very good rythm !! 9/10

7) Can't fight the feeling => Pop rock modified voice 9.5/10 (lol I add the 0.50)

8) Let me be your soldier => Pop too low 6/10

9) Eyes on me => indian style mix arabic rapid voice very very good 10/10

10) My love => to low for me! 5/10

11) A world to believe in =>there is definitely voice!! pop rock 7/10

12) Right next to the right one =>guitare nice rythme / voice clear 7/10

Céline Dion et René Angélil se font déjouer par une fan: trois mois avant son lancement, le prochain album de la chanteuse a vu les détails l'entourant se retrouver dans le Web.

 

Pour tester les nouvelles chansons de l'album anglais de Céline, René Angélil a initié une soirée d'écoute publique, un sondage maison, auprès de 400 personnes réunies, lundi dernier, dans la salle du Colosseum du Caesars Palace de Las Vegas. Une foule composée de quelques fans et d'employés de la chaîne Harrah's était venue entendre et commenter les mélodies.

 

Afin de protéger les chansons de la star, l'impresario et son équipe avaient instauré des mesures de sécurité et s'étaient assurés que personne n'apportait d'enregistreuse ou de cellulaire sur les lieux. Une rumeur voulait qu'une personne tente de se faufiler avec son tape en prétendant porter un pacemaker.

 

Les chansons sont restées secrètes,mais à cause d'une blogueuse présente sur place, les détails de l'album se sont retrouvés hier dans Internet, y compris 14 titres (présumés) des chansons de Céline et leur description. En cachette, la fan avait pris plein de notes qu'elle s'est fait un honneur de publier dans un populaire forum de discussion.

 

Du jamais entendu

 

Selon la fan, les titres sont Taking Chances, chanson qui, dit-elle, pourrait être la favorite, Alone, qui est une reprise de la formation Heart, Shadow of Love, une chanson rock, A Song for You, une ballade majeure au piano, ainsi que This Time, Surprise, Surprise, Can't Fight the Feeling, du pur rock, Let Me Be Your Soldier, soutenue par une armée de drums, Eyes on Me, la chanson beat de l'album, My Love, World to Believe in, une grande ballade, Right Next to the Right One, Just Fade Away et That's Just the Woman in Me, un blues surprenant.

 

La blogueuse conclut en disant que l'album de Céline est «incroyable, plutôt rock, avec beaucoup de guitares, un album différent de tout ce que Céline a fait auparavant».

 

Lundi soir, les 400 invités de René Angélil devaient noter leur préférence en chiffrant les chansons de 1 à 10 en demeurant les plus honnêtes possible. Cet exercice doit aider à décider de l'ordre de sortie des extraits.

 

Surprendre les gens

 

René Angélil, joint à Las Vegas, a confirmé avoir réalisé ce sondage auprès du public et rappelé qu'il avait fait le même exercice au début de la carrière de Céline, au Théâtre Félix-Leclerc avec le fan-club de Céline de l'époque.

 

«Nous avons trop de bonnes chansons et c'est difficile de choisir les premiers extraits, a-t-il dit. Pour Céline, cet album est le meilleur en anglais de sa carrière. Les gens vont être surpris, aussi surpris qu'à l'époque d'Incognito, où Céline avait complètement changé de style.»

 

René Angélil confirme que le titre de l'album de Céline sera Taking Chances. Il a été question qu'il porte le titre The Woman in Me, mais l'équipe a dû renoncer à cette option parce qu'un des albums de Shania Twain porte ce titre.

 

Selon M. Angélil, ce titre n'était qu'un titre provisoire de travail et Taking Chances comptait aussi parmi les possibilités. Il ne savait pas qu'un album de Shania Twain portait ce titre.

 

Le lancement du nouvel album anglais de Céline Dion se fera le 13 novembre prochain.

The journalist contacted Rene and he told her that the title "The Woman In Me" was just a working title. He confirms "Taking Chances" as the title. He also says that he didn't know Shania Twain had an album titled The Woman In Me. Shameful !!!! He also says that for Celine, this abum is her best. Well, she always says so with every release so... LOL

 

Rene basically says that the listening session was to basically help them choose the singles to be released.

Thanks, but when I read this review my feelings towards the album are totally differents. I mean, it's different than the beautifull review we have from LV. Are you sure they heard the same songs ? lol

While LV speaks about dark sound and rock Fanny speaks about pop or ballad....

Thanks, but when I read this review my feelings towards the album are totally differents. I mean, it's different than the beautifull review we have from LV. Are you sure they heard the same songs ? lol

While LV speaks about dark sound and rock Fanny speaks about pop or ballad....

 

I definitely think that we must consider the "pop rock" of Fanny as rock And there are ballads !

I still prefer to believe that it's a "dark" soft/rock album. LMO

I just listened to Michael Bubles version of A Song For You and honestly it didn't sound familiar! I really have to say I wasn't impressed with the song at first listen, and probably that's why I don't remember it. I do remember the solitary piano for most of the song and then a huge violin solo towards the middle kicked in.

 

 

I can't imagine anyone being angry at me for posting the review anyway. I mean it's coming out in 3 months, I had nothing but good things to say, I think it made people excited about the release, created a little buzz, and people are going to hear it soon enough!

One Heart was not a bad album. It's one of her best to me. I love most songs. The problem with that album was not promoted at all.

i'm just a bit worried about her voice cause from what i understood there r not many "big moments" with dramatic notes and she sings most of the ballads in a lower key

Listen guys. I have heard the One Heart album. I own it. I've listened to it a million times and I am one of those crazies that actually like most of it! I did not get the impression at the preview that I was listening to One Heart at all. The production is much better, the songs are darker, and Celine is singing much more freely, as in very fast phrasing that we don't usually hear from her. If it any helps at least my ears didn't hear One Heart part 2 or anything even close.

Personally I think you did exactly what Rene had hope for: free promotion/publicity 3 months before the release of the album. And he did so without releasing any sound clip.

 

What I don't understand much is the other two confirmed songs that weren't part of the listening session (the R. Kelly and Ne-Yo songs). I guess they were a shoo-in.

ur most welcome, and i totally agree! she is offering is something new, and some people here, no offense to anyone, seem to b getting all paranoid about another ONE HEART album, which, to me, was one of her more COHERENT albums as a whole....

 

CELINE, we must understand, was and maybe still IS trapped im some sort of warp, given the fact that her biggest hits were syrupy balads: WHERE DOES MY HEART BEAT NOW, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, IF YOU ASKED ME TO, THE POWER OF LOVE, BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME, MY HEART WILL GO ON, IM YOUR ANGEL... people LOVE her delivery of this type of song, yet the trends in music seem to go against that grain, so to speak...

 

again, im super proud and excited by the fact that CELINE and her team are trying out something different, kinda like they did with ONE HEART, and maybe steering her in a new and different direction, musically...

 

i think i wanna fall asleep now and wake up on november 13, 2007...

so they did it before at the begining of celine's career... so rene is definitely thinking that this album is similar to a NEW begininng for celine's career... and we think that too

 

and i must say, that rene should thank god that the album (the audio) wasn't leaked to the net.. just opinions... and what an opinion... it is a positive one... and it kept the fans very anticipated.

 

so, rene, dont be so angry. it is a good publicity. try to take the advantages of what happened

As for her voice and long or high notes, they happen naturally on the album. I noticed there were several, but not like I Surrender level. I mean she incorporates some great notes in a lot of the songs, but not like one huge note that you will freak over. We're used to hearing them anyway from her. I remember a great note in That's Just the Woman in Me and I think Taking Chances if I remember. There was a note in one of the songs that reminded me of the note in Naked.

and shon - i dont want her to scream but i really love those natural high and long notes with that famous vibrato of hers

i also like it when her voice is demanding and powerful like on "S'il n'en restait qu'une" - hopefuly we'll hear her angry and powerful voice on some of the new songs

Big notes are not all....

If you want to hear some, play FIY or LTAL but you know what? I think you will hear even a few big notes on Taking chances too

I have to agree, One Heart was actually a good album and I think it would've done a LOT better had it been promoted. There were some good songs that had a different edge about them such as Love is All We Need and one my my most favorite ballads she has done that I'd live to see her perform live (I know what love is...which btw would be a perfect wedding song).

 

I just hope that critics don't dismiss this as just her trying to please other people. I hope they can see it as a real change for Celine.
