Imagine coming to a Celine forum to post inaccuracies about Celine, be called out on it, and then act as a victim. The narcissism is off the charts.

It’s a shame we didn’t get more Christmas songs performances over the years.

 

Was she not allowed to do TV specials while at Caesar’s Palace during the first residency? Like cmon…

She had a Christmas Special in 2013 (A Home For Christmas), but she didn't sang Christmas songs in the show. And her TAST Special from 1998 is not very festive. They should have recorded a Christmas Special for December/Christmas Time.

And TAST is not up to her standard? Yes, it is a little bit overproduced, but Celine wanted perfecton. It is a great Christmas Pop album (with some fillers (FN, BL)) and Sony should promote it more.

The album has also been re-release in Europe (like in Canada), with I Met An Angel (On Christmas Day) replacing I'm Your Angel.

I think It’s by a 3rd party seller not fnac, I was at fnac 2 weeks ago and they are not expecting the album

We're getting very close to Christmas Day already, and although it's been another extemely dissappointing year from Celine's record label team (Sony Music/Legacy Recordings & Columbia Records) with so many missed opportunities, basically zero promo and marketing, and pretty much no recognition of Celine's milestone anniversaries of her timeless albums, but let's celebrate some of the positive success and accomplishments that Celine's Christmas songs and album have had:

  • Celine’s version of “O Holy Night” was just ranked in the top 25 of the countdown of the 65 Best Christmas Songs by PureWow, who said: “There’s plenty of decent renditions of this classic out there. But in our opinion, nothing compares to Dion’s version.”
  • Sony's official account for Sony Music Christmas catalog- "Christmas Songs" made a new post on their social media at the beginning of the Christmas season this year (November 24th) that said they were "speechless" about Celine's "O Holy Night" performance from her "These Are Special Times" CBS TV Special from '98, and also said: "her performance and stage presence is unmatched." Nice comments, but then why can't Sony Music promote and market "These Are Special Times"?? so strange and confusing.

Songs from “These Are Special Times” that have experienced the most success on the Billboard charts over the years:

  • “O Holy Night”- has reached the top 20 on the Holiday Airplay chart and Holiday Digital Song Sales chart, the top 25 on the Holiday Streaming Songs chart, and reached top 45 and spent 14 weeks on the Holiday 100 chart so far, and just last week was back on this chart!
  • “Happy X-Mas (War is Over)”- has reached the top 5 on the Holiday Streaming Songs chart previously, has reached the top 40 on the Holiday 100 chart (#32), and spent at least 6 weeks on the chart!
  • “Christmas Eve”- has reached the top 40 on Holiday Streaming Songs chart!
  • “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire)”- has charted on the Holiday 100 and spent 3 weeks on the chart
  • “Ave Maria”- has reached the top 45 on the Holiday Digital Song Sales chart!
  • “The Prayer” (Duet with Andrea Bocelli): Has reached #1 on the U.S. Classic Digital Songs chart!, and reached the top 25 on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart, and the top 10 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart! The version with Celine and Josh Groban has reached the top 40 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, the top 70 on the U.S. Hot 100 chart!

The album has been a total of 10 weeks at #1 on the Top Holiday Albums chart, most recently reaching #1 in 2016, and has spent over 280 weeks on the chart, including reaching the top 40 this year! the album has also spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Catalog Albums chart!

 

The continuing legacy of “These Are Special Times”:

  • One of the most legendary radio personalities of all time Casey Kasem that hosted American Top 40 for decades, aired a special Christmas countdown: The Top 60 Christmas Hits of all time, and Celine’s “O Holy Night” was in the top 5 at #4!!
  • This year, Celine has several songs such as “Happy X-Mas (Was is Over)”, “O Holy Night”, and “The Prayer” on several top playlists on streaming platforms/services such as Spotify, and Amazon Music that have millions of likes and listeners!!
  • Celine is one of only six female artists that have the most Christmas songs above 100,000 streams daily on Spotify! (Kelly Clarkson (NOT MARIAH), has the most with 9.
  • Celine currently has two Christmas songs on Spotify that are achieving over 200,000 daily streams on Spotify: “Happy X-Mas (War is Over)” with 600k+, and “O Holy Night” with 200k+! Why we fans don't make a party to play the song “I met an angel on Christmas Day"? let's make it debut into the charts. We can even make it viral on Tiktok too! It's a great topic and has a very nice video. The song needs a trend to go viral.

What makes me sort of mad is that now after 20 years her team decided that I met an angel on Christmas day is good enough be on this album. But up until now it was completely ignored like it never existed, even though the performance video was once aired on tv. Also, why don’t they release this music video to YouTube? It’s weird how people much prefer “O Holy Night” as her Christmas masterpiece but radio stations just continue choosing to play “Happy Xmas” as the more popular one.

Well, I just heard Christmas Eve on the playlist at raising Cane’s. Don’t think I’ve ever heard that played in public before, but glad she’s getting a little recognition despite the terrible attempts of her team promoting the album, or lack of attempts shall I say.

I'm not surprised. Radio prefers more upbeat Christmas songs. I wish radio would give Christmas Eve a chance.

Thank you for this! I love all of your vocal range videos! I actually didn’t realize this album had so many upper belts. Obviously, not as many as some others like Falling Into You or Let’s Talk About Love, but still.

OMG I can't see ANY video on the forum for a while... that's frustating...

I cannot view them either. Sometimes I can when I use Firefox. Maybe try that.
