There is already uploaded the video from the Bocelli’s Central Park concert, so maybe they would not want to cannibalize the streams from another live performance 🤔

the Prayer from the 1998 TV Special isn’t live anyway. They could upload Oscars 1999 though

I don’t think that’s it because they uploaded her live performance of The Prayer from the Taking Chances World Tour, albeit with Bocelli only on video and not in person.

If Celine was to release an up-tempo single from this album, do you think 'Christmas Eve' or 'I Met An Angel' would be the better choice?

I’ve always considered Oscars ‘99 to be the greatest live version of the song ever.

Definitely ‘Christmas Eve’, ‘I Met an Angel’ has already had enough credit in recent years and a song with a potential as big as CE deserves its opportunity to shine.

The 2011 one is pretty damn good too, and the rehearsal even better! Anything from 2011 is perfect though.

Yes, for me the Central Park performance is also the best. It's amazing and perfect. But why is it only on Bocelli's channel? The Oscar performance is also amazing of course.

I may argue 2011 is the best for that song. Isn’t the rehearsal fake? I found a video claiming to be a rehearsal but it was just the original performance pitched up

The Oscar performance was amazing and maybe the best. Celine was her at peak at that time.

I doubt that they will upload it, maybe they will upload the performance from the CBS TV Special.

I know, right? What a year that was. The two-year vocal rest worked wonders on her voice.

However, unlike in 2000-2001, she kept training her voice until her doctor advised her to stop because of her pregnancy. Maybe that’s what really made the difference?

I really don’t know, I haven’t looked into it much. I remember we had the rehearsal footage and it was easily retrievable, and it didn’t seem fake to me or in a different key for that matter.

Hmmm I like BOTH SONGS, I really do not understand why neither songs were sent out to radios back in the day during Christmas season, I think they both would have been VERY WELL RECEIVED DURING THE HOLIDAYS!!

& yes I know "I Met An Angel On Christmas Day" was NOT ORIGINALLY on the "These Are Special Times" album & it was on another album a year later... But still it could have been released!! & "Christmas Eve" should have also been released!! Team Celine & Sony REALLY DID miss a good opportunity with that!! "TAST" was such a great Christmas album, too bad Sony & her team did not do more with that albums over the years during the holidays!! Heck, look at Mariah frickin Carey with her NEVER ENDING promotion of her Christmas album EVERY YEAR!! Mariah certainly knows HOW TO RIDE THE CHRISTMAS TRAIN with "All I Want For Christmas Is You" every year, which is why there are soooo many jokes at the beginning of every holiday season about "Mariah defrosting for Christmas" lollll

But I think "TAST" is just AS GREAT as Mariahs "Merry Christmas" album!! I wish Celines Christmas songs were getting as much air plays on radios these days as Mariahs songs are & as all of the other great Christmas classics!! But I digress lol... Its Sony & her team we are talking about lol... Its just is what it is I guess lollll

I Met an Angel on Christmas day is probably my least favorite song in Celine’s entire repertoire.

Ok after Superwoman, but still…

LOL, funny how she talked about this song in a 1998 interview, while it was not even released on her Christmas album. It was just a b-side on a single, but nobody even noticed it.

I noticed that too! Made me wonder if it was originally supposed to be included on the album?

I like 'I Met An Angel' but there is something off putting about its production. For some reason it feels like a demo rather than a fully-developed song.

'Christmas Eve' is more carefully crafted IMO.

No it clashes way too much with the rest of the album.

Was just listening to the multi-artist David Foster White Christmas with Céline's vocals in French - was there ever a full French-language version by Céline released anywhere that I somehow missed? The multi-artist track is awful and very dated to its time, production-wise, but Céline's part is nice... :D

Yeah there is! Noel Blanc, released on her first Xmas album: Chante Noël.

Though this probably sounds even more dated than Fosters version ;) :

I think the interview, in which she talked about IMAAOCD, was from a Christmas Special in 1999.

She also performed Happy Xmas with Gloria E..

Which 1998 interview?

Matthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall Inn

Stonewall Sensation - Season 15

That’s correct. I Met An Angel hadn’t been recorded yet by the time TAST was released, that’s why it wasn’t on the original edition

Thanks, but I meant of the Foster version! Since he obviously recorded some French vocals for White Christmas while producing The Christmas Song, I thought maybe a full French-language version was produced at the same time. Probably something else hidden in the vaults...
