Ronny83 Posted August 10, 2007 at 12:27 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 12:27 PM "The Woman In Me" by Shania Twain has never been released here in Italy. And Shania is such a flop artist here. As amelie said, Shania is "FAR less know" than Madonna or Céline, at least here. BTW, I don't think the success of the album is releated to a title or a cover. Songs count. Music counts. I think people who buy albums just for a cover or a title do not know anything about music. And I'm so surprised to read people here (her fans!) screaming for a flop when they don't know anything about the album. Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com

tcherno Posted August 10, 2007 at 12:54 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 12:54 PM i dont like the title of the album but i think she choose it to stay in the same concept of D'ELLES, so the world tour name will be suitable for her french & english albums. they didn't mention timbaland or ne-yo, maybe they want to keep the buzz around their contribution to the album... or maybe they didnt choose the final songs on the album... finally, i hope it will work this time for celine and sells millions of copies of this album... fred Posted August 10, 2007 at 01:00 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 01:00 PM Sounds like a title for a counrty album indeed. And just by reading the topic of this thread made me think Shania and Faith Hill. The title sucks however. Compared to this Taking Chances seemed like a hit title. And Seb, Barbara's Bra?? I can't understand these interviewers who apperently seem to have no journalistic education and passion at all, RESEARCH BEFORE INTERVIEW, gee, the interviewer should had had questions focused on the rumour buzz and not letting the object of the interview (Céline) sit there and say only what she is allowed to say, but lure out what the everyone wants to know... And Peer! Way to go man! /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
ZoraSourit Posted August 10, 2007 at 01:08 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 01:08 PM I hope they change the title... It doesn't matter if shania's album sold much or not. The question is that the title is not original. And everytime people talk about an album with that title, someone will say: "which one? céline's or shania's?". I'm not really happy with it to be honest. They question about Promo is another thing i have to admit!I i could i would ban more than a few users here! The history has proven us that the last album are not so great (except D'elles). And sony does nothing to promote them. So they are considered flops. Noone can predict if the album has great songs or not. But i am sure that sony won't do a great promo job. And as far as i know Seb is the one who always screams about flop-albums and flop songs without even hearing them. Edited August 10, 2007 at 01:58 PM by Moleque20 Quote Les étoiles tombent une à une. Say What? Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:30 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:30 PM The pop/rock category was invented by music reacord stores to combine both genre and save display space. Technically, what's pop is what kind of music is being played at top 40 radio station. What's rock is what's being played ar rock radio stations. There isn't any specific description of the genre since it evolves with the years. What was considered rock back in the 70s would be called pop/adult contemporary today And whatever the genres on Celine's next album, it'll be considered pop with whatever (rock, R&B, etc.) influence in my book. kathyc25 Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:33 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:33 PM Yeah, I`m not sure I like the title either...sounds a bit cheesy...but Celine is cheesy sometimes However I do like the concept of a rock album though! Say What? Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:34 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:34 PM I'd prefer a title a little simpler, more personal like "Celine". And album titles always change at the last minute anyways so... I would take this info, although very reliable, with a grain of salt. Quote

guyddavies Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:55 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 02:55 PM wim sorry but linkin park etc isnt rock music in terms of what rock music used to be about. Meatloaf is classed as rock, celine sang its all coming back to me, then meatloaf did it, its a rock ballad, cher is classed as a rock artist, well she was up till 1996 and her next album will be rock, one of chers writers is diane warren, hence songs like think twice etc are classed as power rock ballads. and yeah the reason etc are rock songs in terms of the style. lets face it the king of rock an roll was elvis presley, when did you last here him singing about slapping *censored* up. the list goes on, brian adams is rock, etc. im sorry but whoever said its not rock cause its not what linkin park etc sing need to look up the difference between rock, nu rock, metal etc, the catagories have lots of room for scope, for example britney is pop, with the exception of a couple of songs does that mean celine isnt a pop star, would she not be better classed as easy listening in that case? celine is a pop rock singer, the same as meat loaf, cher, brian adams, elvis etc, they all do pop, dance, rock, ballads, maybe it would be better just to call them entertainers at the end of the day! Salla Posted August 10, 2007 at 03:00 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 03:00 PM hmm. I don't LOVE the title, but i don't hate it either. Aaaand there's still time for them to come up with something that'll ROCK. Quote

celine5-5 Posted August 10, 2007 at 03:11 PM Posted August 10, 2007 at 03:11 PM I don't really like this title. I mean, it's already kind of giving it a concept, even though it's been said over and over that it's not supposed to be a concept album. If they use "The Woman In Me", it's automatically going to be targeted directly toward women and women only. This album is supposed to be targeted toward everyone, pretty much. I also don't like the fact that this is the same name Shania Twain used for one of her earlier albums. Think about it, Shania and Celine, both Canadian, releasing an album that has the same title. Someone's going to criticize that negatively. So, all in all, I hope they change the title to something a little more creative and original. Quote

I remember very well. There were speculations in the music industry that because Carole King didn't want to give some her royalties away to Celine that Rene decided to change the title of the album. It was mentionned on Jim Steinman's website if I remember correctly. Celine said in interviews that she had recorded LTAL late and that she loved the song so much that she decided to name the album after it. Quote
