With A New Day ..., Celine Dion's blockbuster Vegas show, closing on Dec. 15, the Canadian crooner is set to unveil a new CD and, she suggests, a newly feisty approach.

 

Due Nov. 13, The Woman in Me will be Dion's first studio album since 2003's One Heart. Her collaborators on Woman include producers and songwriters noted for their work with more rock-oriented artists, among them Linda Perry (Pink, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera), ex-Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody and Dave Stewart, as well as John Shanks, Kara DioGuardi, Kristian Lundin and Anders Bagge and Peer Astrom.

 

"I think this album represents a positive evolution in my career," Dion says. "I'm feeling strong, maybe a little gutsier than in the past, and just as passionate about music and life as I ever was."

They moved up the date, interesting. No talk about Timbaland, though. Didn't know about Linda Perry. Awesome. After all the RnB misinformation, I think this is going to be much more "rock" than anything else. Finally, we have been hearing this since Falling Into You than Celine's next album would be rock-oriented. Was a long wait but looks like it is finally happening!

 

(PS. The title sounds like a Shania Twain song

I think USATODAY interviewed Celine, and she revealed these details herself. Wonder why she didn't mention Timbaland. Maybe we'll see more details on USATODAY newspaper soon. Check it Americans.

yea weird! but i lyk the album title! at least it's not Taking Chances (even though it's not THAT bad) but i'm glad she's going a "little more gutsier" than before..just can't wait!

Acutally I quite like this song. But I doubt it's the same song. This song is one of Shania's signature songs. I doubt Celine would cover such a famours song.

I think Celine wants to represents the real cool woman in her, and get rid of her old love ballad diva image. At least this sounds like the plan for this album. I wish it's not just a concept this time.

I dont know what shes trying to represent but if this is the actual title, I dont see why they can't come up with something thats NOT previously used a decade ago by another famous Canadian female singer. Plus 'The Woman in Me' isnt a title that would necessarily appeal to a younger/cooler crowd...if thats what she's aiming for.

First thing that came to my mind is why in god's name is it the same name as that Shania album! The title is so cliche! And no mention of Timbaland, Ne-yo, or R. Kelly, so I'm sticking by my original opinion that I refuse to believe it until it's confirmed by Celine's party! Why did anyone not say "Um, Celine I hate to break it to you but Shania did that album like 10 years ago, lets come up with something else."

Hmmm..... I was waiting for something that doesn't really focus on particular view. I'm not really as happy as I've been. but I'm still gonna buy it. And will do my best to support the album still.

 

As long as the songs are great. Particularly, the singles.

Regardless, it's a beautiful title.

 

And if you really, really disapprove of this album's title and feel so disappointed, I want you to grab a video camera, record yourself, and post your video on YouTube under the logline "Disappointed Celine Fanatic."
