Céline's Blues Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:02 PM Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:02 PM Gogo, it's you and couple others here who make it sound like there was a competition between Céline and the bimbette. They're so different and you know who sold her soul to the devil to get the best sales possible. Céline isn't living for the sales. Bimbette does. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Teodora Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:03 PM Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:03 PM If i'm not mistaken, didn't Miracle sold around 5 million copies? And didn't Mariah's "Mimi" album sold just the same or just a little more? Well, I don't think I need to explain it... One really niche-concept album sold the same, with no promo, no single, no video, as Mariah's most praised blah blah album since '97 or something like that... Sure, Mariah gets more exposure, but when it comes down to sales and quality, Celine surpases her in her sleep... Quote
thevoice Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:05 PM Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:05 PM no not really . celine wont sell more than 1 million or 1.5 million in the most optimistic case during 2007 and that includes x-mas and the promotion of her last show and all...i find it hard to believe she'll sell more than that during the first 7/8 weeks . it's not too much to sell but i'm being realistic - if we want this album to sell more pure promotion wont be enoght....she needs radio hits , good videos and countless appereances on tv shows months and months after the release . Quote
CSCfan Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:13 PM Posted August 11, 2007 at 08:13 PM Could very well be, but in this case short term sales are more important than ever. Of course she will sell loads more in the 2008 when she's doing the tour (and is promoting the album), but the time between the album release and X-mas is just vital (and it will show Céline's status in the music industry present day). celinerific Posted August 12, 2007 at 12:51 AM Posted August 12, 2007 at 12:51 AM (edited) Nobody's being negative... okay some of us are, but we all have reasons. Have you heard about the number of albums being released by the well-knowns? There's going to be a hell of a lot of competition out there, you know? We're all aware that Celine would never let us down. She's amazing that way. But the competition these days in the music industry is uncanny. Celine would have to slap some pretty big butts to get into the charts. We're not in the 90s anymore. It's not as easy as it once was. The beginning of the new millenium was okay - still sane. But now, everything's changed. Big things must be done for big things to happen. I'm sure we all have confidence in Celine. We're all here for her 24/7. If you're a fan, you should know that. We're her fans, we've got her back. If an album is flopping, some of us go out of our own way to get more sales in - like buying fifty extra copies and giving them as gifts to people. Celine fans have been well-taught, you can certainly count on that. Stewart, Michael Tait, Timbaland Céline Dion chronology D'Elles(2007) Forthcoming English album(2007) The Woman in Me is an upcoming English album of Céline Dion scheduled for release between November 9 and November 12, 2007 in Europe and November 13, 2007 in North America.[1] Dion is working with many various record producers, mainly on rock and R&B songs. [edit] Album informationAs of May 21, 2007, Céline Dion already recorded four songs for her new English project. Rock-oriented tracks were written and produced by Ben Moody.[2] One of them was co-written by Scott "Skippy" Chapman and Michael Tait. She continued the recording during her summer vacations between July 2, 2007 and August 15, 2007.[3] The first result was a piano ballad written by Robert Wells and Anders Bagge.[4] According to the ELLE article from July 2007, David A. Stewart from Eurythmics worked on a song for Dion, and R. Kelly wrote two tracks.[5] Kara DioGuardi's song "Taking Chances" is slated to be the first single of Céline Dion's forthcoming album.[6] It was produced by David A. Stewart.[7] The new album will include "I Knew I Loved You," performed by Céline Dion at the 2007 Academy Awards to honor Ennio Morricone.[8] The song, based on a theme from Once Upon a Time in America, was featured on the CD We All Love Ennio Morricone. "I Knew I Loved You" with lyrics by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman, was produced by Quincy Jones. In February 2007 Dion recorded a song with Annie Lennox for her new album Songs of Mass Destruction, which will be released on October 1, 2007.[9] The track is called "Sing," it was produced by Glen Ballard and features many other female vocalists. But it's unlikely that it will be included on Dion's forthcoming English project. Céline Dion recorded also two versions (English and Italian) of her French song "La Diva" from D'Elles. One of them may become a part of her English album. Dion recorded the track "Eyes On You" co written by Delta Goodrem & Kristian Lundin to be included in this release.[10] Dion was reported also working with: Walter Afanasieff, Peer Astrom, Babyface, Bryan Michael Cox, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Christopher Neil, Ne-Yo, Aldo Nova, Linda Perry, Nicolas Porte, John Shanks, and Timbaland.[11] It's possible that the album will include unreleased songs co-written by Céline Dion: "Isabella," "Drop by Drop" and "Over You Baby."[12] The singer will promote this album during her forthcoming world tour in 2008.[13] So Timbaland Might still be in it-Nmj Quote

As always on the last years nothing come at time Too much Vegas life ... !I want to be on the 16th december I don't want to be negative but something wrong happens about the management and promotion of Céline. Elaine Posted August 12, 2007 at 04:35 AM Posted August 12, 2007 at 04:35 AM That's the same name as one of Shania's album. That's what everyone thinks when they first see this title I guess! I don't really know what to think yet... For now I can say I don't hate it but I don't love it either... This has to be a joke!! Its a freaking Shania album!! I think Celine wants to represents the real cool woman in her, and get rid of her old love ballad diva image. At least this sounds like the plan for this album. I wish it's not just a concept this time. I know people have been saying she'll not do something like she did in D'elles, but for me it looks like we'll have kind of an English version of the D'Elles concept... I wonder no mention of ne-yo and timbaland and r kelly. Really wierd... But still a relief for me cause I was praying she could decide she was not gonna include Ne-yo's songs in her album! maybe the woman in me is immensite in english don't know i think i'd like that if the title was inspired by D'elles (which makes sence) then it could be a track from D'elles in english and i think the only one that suits musically is immensite, it may be nothing new for the french market but it could work better in english market + it would help D'elles sales. i wonder who would write lyrics for a song named the woman in me without making it cheesy... Then it'd sound more like "Femme comme chacune" ... But I really hope there's no versions of her French songs... she always efforsizes WOMEN...so stupid And whom do you think should she emphasize!? Transvestites? I would LOVE that actually. Yet I still think she would want to emphasize every group of ppl since she is sucha sweetheart in every way. That's why I love this forum! I dont know what shes trying to represent but if this is the actual title, I dont see why they can't come up with something thats NOT previously used a decade ago by another famous Canadian female singer.
