I’m sorry but why are we assuming the announcement will be 9pm on French TV? It could be only a TV special or an interview with Celine. I don’t know if it makes sense to “waste” her entire birthday like that.

There was obviously no social media at the time, but the ANDHC comeback was a big deal. She was on every show in every country to promote the album and then Vegas…

The ANDHC comeback was after a 2 year break, whereas this one comes after 6 years of absence. Also the previous break was mostly framed as her choice, while this one was due to SPS. Plus she is now sick and the world knows. I think this is viewed as a bigger comeback. So many have been afraid we would lose her forever. It just matters more.

Yeah 2002-2003 she was everywhere… but like Stevo said, the times don’t compare, with socials this feels bigger so far, and obviously 2 year break for a baby vs. 6-7 years because of a Global pandemic and then one in a million illness, is far more poignant!

It was pre-social media, so kind of a different beast... But it felt huge at the time. She was on TV constantly giving interviews and on all the talk shows and morning shows, VH1, etc., and in all the magazines. This feels a little different though, at least in France... with all the posters all over Paris and now the prime time TV announcement, it feels like a national event here. Everyone is talking about it, even non-fans and all the media. All my colleagues were talking about it the other day.

it was big after a 2 year hiatus but nowhere near the same level of anticipation as this!

I don't think announcing her comeback with a residency and an album is a "waste".

I was 22 years old and was learning to use the internet. At that time we had an AOL account and a modem. You can imagine that the internet connection was very slow. Anyway, there were many great Celine news -and -fansites at that time and because of the internet we were informed about  A New Day Has Come (music video, single, TV promo etc.). It was exciting.

Is anybody else wondering if there may be more than just Paris dates announced ? Like why advertise in NYC for instance for a Europe gig ? Europe will more than enough sell tickets to just 10 shows in Paris.  Could we be in store for some more surprises. ?

Hi everyone!

I saw in a French journal that there were possible shows to be scheduled on Mondays as well. They were talking about 16 shows. I could see her end up with perhaps 20. 
 

What are your feelings? Will 14 October be her last show or will she continue ‘til the 28th?

Also another question or something that crosses my mind. LDA has a maximum of 40.000 capacity with standing places. But that is not Céline’s way of working in indoor venues. Could it be that there are going to be more like 25/30k seats?

That's the big question. I find it strange as well. Unless she also makes an 'English' comeback. Anyway I'm loving this new strategy her management is taking. Still sceptical and I would be screaming if later this week they go on celebrating FIY with a HD video from LIM, a feature Friday and a new video from her Song Series. 🤣

I'm pretty sure there will be additional dates, but they're probably just announcing the Paris ones first to build up the hype.

If that's their plan and they add those in September/October it could be 5 mondays and an extra saturday 17oct that would be the last one. If that schedule circulating was true to begin with.

Tomorrow needs to be an English return too. English album Or not it would be a mistake to Comeback tomorrow with a French only poster and announce her worldwide return! 
I know that the French fans felt this way in the past, but this isn’t just another album… this is THE return! And her English career is her “international wide” career.

I’m manifesting 🤞🏻 since the 02 in London currently have no shows scheduled for any Saturdays in November…. But I feel it’s wishful thinking, seems a lot after 6 years and a SPS diagnosis.

I actually think the best move is to return with a new French album and the series of concerts in Paris. This way not only she achieves an aura of success around her name, considering that both the album and the tour are likely to sell really well, but she also builds further anticipation for her comeback in anglophone markets. One thing at a time, in my opinion. Besides, projects need to breathe. I do not want the new French album to end up like 'D'elles', which was not given enough time.

I also do not understand why so many members expect an English single or album to be released too. It is not as if anglophone markets cared about 'Courage' or 'Love Again'.

The more time that passes by, the more excited I am to hear what announcements are made! I wasn't born in time for her 2002 comeback, and was too young to be on the internet for her 2011 comeback, so this is new for me!
