I think it’s an April fools joke…. What’s Chers “Do you Believe In life after love” going to be doing in there? And the lyrics make zero sense about “only love is the energy and air we breathe, only love is the gift”

I think “Courage” album is far superior to both “Taking Chances” and LMBTL albums.

I agree. To me Courage is easily her best album since ANDHC, and the only project that feels complete. No leftovers from previous albums, no random covers and a clear direction.

On my Power Ballads List there's always space for I Surrender → The Reason I Go On → Breakaway → The Hard Way ..... Love them all

I'm rooting for Love Of My Life to fill that next space with the emotion that Moccio brings and the Rockish style that Tranter could bring to the table

 

That said I expect 2 Ballads and 3 mid-tempos

TC is superior to me. It's a no skip album with me! It may have something to do with the fact that the TC Tour was my first Celine concert and I keep so many good memories from that era. But apart from that, her voice was 100x better on TC.

Putting aside the live versions from the show, 'Ain't gonna look the other way' is one of my favorite songs from Celine. I really really liked 'You and I' back then also.

I’ve only listened to LA a handful of times since Thursday. Plan was not to overdo it as I don’t want to get bored of it 😂 it’s definitely a grower. I thought it was cute when I first heard it but now I love it. It’s beautiful. Can’t stop listening this morning.

From OH to Courage she has recorded few power ballads but I have a problem with all of them. I do not think they are bad but they are far from amazing IMO.

 

- I Know What Love Is - beautiful melody and vocals but bland lyrics. Musically it could have been taken out any of her mid-90s albums.

 

- The Reason I Go On. Same as the above.

 

- Breakaway. Note-to-note copy of the original, she did not add anything new to the song and I do not like how they handled her voice. She sounds thin and like she is pushing some notes. The lyrics are strong but I do not relate. When I decide to leave, I just leave! 😆

 

- Always Be Your Girl. Worst lyrics out of any ballad she has ever recorded. This song made me hate buttons and sleeves 😝

 

- The Hard Way is not a power ballad. I know many fans think it is, but I disagree.

 

That said, I can find amazing soft ballads in all her albums and this is great. Examples would be Stand By Your Side, Je T'aime Encore, In Some Small Way, My Love, Didn't Know Love, Boundaries, For The Lover That I Lost, Perfect Goodbye. ❤️

Oh Prince bless his heart, always full of himself, not an ounce of humility, he truly was the Kanye West blueprint...the man had talent but his ego overtook him..... and the funnest thing of all is that the "symbol" himself sampled a lot

He was losing his touch. Taking Chances was objectively a mixed bag of an album that did not stand to the "edgy" marketing and he had no pragmatic plan whatsoever for LMBTL. He initially wanted half songs to be old covers. �� He then changed that to an extent only and we got an album that feels like an unfinished project. The intro of Overjoyed is like a time capsule to the past. ��

 

Clearly Overjoyed was for the Vegas album that they scrapped. Hell, most of the second half was. But that first half was indeed sensational.
