they barely used any photos from the 2012 Alix Malka photoshoot even though these pictures really were superb and high class! There are so many that remained unused till this day which is such a shame

What do you mean? They used loads of photo's of the 2012 for a long time too! Anything LMBTL/SA related had those pictures. Up until the new shoot in 2016. Of course there are still a lot of unreleased photo's from that shoot... but that goes for any shoot!
