This is what I saw few days ago… Surprised they are choosing first of clips to promote this as old footage.

 

Thought it was probably the same one. I was like that was Celine but then I was like nah so didn't check the recording again till next day to see if I was right. I didn't even see the clip from Vegas was forwarding so fast just the one from the recording studio.

I think there will a lot of new footage too. Most definitely a bulk if this will focus on her “now”, which will be new.

I want this to be spectacular but for some reason I'm not putting too much faith in it. Who knows, maybe we already know everything.

 

I think that "spectacular" is unlikely to be, at least one may think so when watching previous documentaries by this director - good, sometimes great, but raw and restrained in form.

 

The question is whether there is a point in making a film for hard-fans; how many are there? Judging from the activity on this forum, FB group or TRH, they are not thousands of people (which is of course normal for an artist born in 1968). The crowds who like her music are unlikely to know everything there is to know about her so far, and will watch the documentary out of curiosity and sentiment. On top of that, there are plenty of potential viewers who only associate her name and have heard something about her illness somewhere.

 

My hopes are a little different: I hope that thanks to this documentary, people who have so far cringed at the sound of her name (I know many, and I'm betting most of my acquaintances) , will look at her differently and at least stop cringing.

I understand why we be getting a best off. And at the same time I don't.

 

Like 3 months before they release the vinyl for My Love.

 

Ideally they would put full focus on that new best off.

Add a live disc from 2016/2017 with that. Maybe 5 -7 songs from the vault.

Release a online concert from that time.

And release a 6 vinyl edition with all that plus some remixes.

 

I can dream right?

 

Unfortunately I'm afraid we will just get another 12 track best off.

Last year We bought Love Again with new and old songs.

This Year My Love Essencial (vinyl) And an album with just old songs doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

It’s not official but from more than one source I believe. Also, that list is 12 songs/tracks, personally I think that’s kinda short for a Celine album… let’s hope it’s like 12 old and maybe 2-4 new.

I’ve got back in touch with Sony UK and she now has a new UK marketing manager.

 

The old one from back in the day would give the forum info, help us with giveaways etc…

 

So hopefully they may start sharing info again with us again in regards to certain things

Following Céline's career these last 10 years is awful and I'm not expecting anything. But like nothing.

 

When documentary was announced, I didn't give a... as it was sold as (another) career history.

 

Then, I got a tiny glimpse of hope... : it seems there will be some footage of the last years... then a new picture for the poster ! I was like super suprised they didn't use once again a picture from SA era.

 

Then, I remembered how much I hate Sony when the soundtrack was known...

 

Then, I was like..."Oh poor Irene Taylor" when I saw the ad for the upcoming Amazon releases: Celine's docu is represented by footage of LTAL recording sessions.

I mean Irene seems well known in documentary director/producer world... can you imagine your work advertises with images that are not yours?

 

Can't wait to see the trailer soundtracked with TPOL sung by Jennifer Rush.

 

I should have known better when they use "love letter for her fans"... nobody writes letter anymore just like no one wants these dusty images & compilation.

And if this is love, they suck at preliminaries.
