Can't wait for what the future holds. Celine is very poetic in her clothing, she was rocking red for courage because she correlated red with strength and courage… now she wears white, which people typically correlate with REBIRTH.

 

I think it's the REBIRTH of Celine Dion! :clapping:

White is also associated with cleaningness - this could symbolise how Celine feels like she came clean with the documentary. She told her story. And now there is this new, blank, white page in the book of her life that she is about to start filling. :wub:

Also, I wonder if Law has been assisting her from afar because her looks have been spot on! If not she’s dressing herself very classy.

So I finally watched the documentary this evening, and honestly my eyes are still sore from crying 😢 As I knew it would be, I found it an extremely tough watch but I honestly couldn’t love her any more after watching it ❤️

 

My heart breaks for her with all she’s been going through but I hope that she is definitely doing so much better and she’s not “lying to herself” this time. That crisis episode she had scared me actually and left me feeling that feeling again where we mustn’t be selfish and expect anything from her, she’s given us everything already but I do know that she clearly wants a return herself and I’m hoping as she said she won’t take any risks this time.

 

A few take aways I have from it after my initial watch (not sure when or if I can watch again tbh):

 

1.) Almost everything she said when she was referencing her career and life as a singer was in the past tense, except the “I Am” monologue about not being self created. Did she believe through a large amount of time while shooting that she really was done?

 

2.) Although there are definitely the odd instantly recognisable ‘Celine being funny’ moments here and there, there didn’t seem to be as much of that humour we love throughout as I expected. I hope she’s not losing her sense of humour through the adversity but it’s probably Irene’s editing to keep with sadder undertones running throughout.

 

3.) I feel awful saying this but I watched with my 16 year old Nephew and his Mum, my Sister and my nephew said to me does Eddy have special needs, now I said to him of course not he’s just shy and a bit introvert in comparison to Nelson who’s more of an exhibitionist like his Mum but the more I seen him and the way Celine seemed to pander around him that little bit more, I see where my Nephew was coming from.

 

4.) And finally as has been mentioned before, I would’ve liked a bit of content via discussions, reminiscing about Rene. He was such a big part of her story, life and heart that I just find it odd not to include him more than the few times we seen him in the archive footage. I wonder if this is purely down to Irene not knowing Celine’s background. I would really like some clarification from Celine herself on what Rene thought of all this medicating to get through shows etc for near on since the mid 2000’s it would seem. I would’ve thought if he’d seen her suffering at times that he would say enough’s enough, we’re done.

 

Finally, Irene did do well with the editing overall I thought. I liked how it started and ended but as others have said a lot of it was just a bit bitty here and there with quite a lot of footage of things that surely could’ve been discarded for more interesting content, whether in the present or more archival but with those video messages, Love Again French dubbing etc, these were really the only obligations she had during this time and she perhaps wanted to show that she was still working to some degree here and there.

White goes so good on her...

 

I cry every time just by remembering that scene from the docu... and now seeing her today, looking happy, and in good shape, God that's so relieving...

Also forgot that she deliberately choose the WHITE suit for the Hoda interview which the first official appearance of the interviews. It’s clearly deliberate.

Perhaps that’s all it is, just after my Nephew mentioned it, I kinda could see where he was coming from.

Speaking of the twins, I wonder how they feel that RC always gets to accompany Celine to these public events. If they rather not or simply get told to stay back because they are so young.

She looks radiant and healthy! I think this is her way of showing everyone how much better she’s doing compared to when the documentary was filmed. It’s also nice to see she’s just enjoying life… out in the world again.

I have no idea. But I do know under Quebec law, women always keep their maiden name, and children often end up with a hyphenated one.

The reporters suggested he might be too young to know Dion’s music, but the Russian teen assured them, “No, I know. I watched the Titanic.”

 

He’s 18 so he’d be forgiven for not knowing! So good for him.

Also that first “episode” clearly was in a hotel room, I wonder where she was and who filmed it.

 

I zoomed in and the Paramedics badge said Aurora so definitely near CU Anschutz.

 

Hotel wise, I observed the carpet, floors and the door from the vertical video from the doc, and they seem to match the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Conference Center, specifically, the presidential suite.
