It's funny, I had a feeling since a long time ago that Maria Callas would in some way be brought up during the documentary. In my head, during her hiatus Celine was trapped in a bunker listening to famous arias by the great opera singers. Turns out that was true!

 

The parallels between her and Callas are so numerous, and we know how much Celine was dying to play her in a movie for years. Turns out, the topic of Maria Callas was a huge pillar in the film even more than I was expecting -- with Maria's version of Habanera opening the film and Celine's version closing, Celine listening to her, Celine having a necklace that she owned, etc.

 

And opening with Callas version of Habanera was just so iconic!

 

Plus, the huge portrait at her living room, if i remember correctly, is Maria Callas as small girl.

And the director said that there was a big part where Celine was talking about Maria Callas but they cut it.

Will there be a DVD release? I've Ben trying to find that out and people so far are saying that prime videos aren't usually released on DVD. I really hope that this will be. Is there any way to find out for sure? I was thinking of contacting Amazon myself but I doubt that the customer service reps would know that info

 

I guess its too early yet to know for sure.

But it will be pitty if they don't release it.

Yup. And I'm genuinely excited to see what she does next. It'll look different and obviously at a reduced velocity than what's she's done in the past, but she's resetting the stage, taking control of the narrative, and laying groundwork for her next chapter.

I know RC is there for moral support and probably as a fan… but I worry the tabloids are going to pick up on between today and the Grammys he’s holding her hand while walking… we know the reason but I think others are going correlate that with she NEEDS assistance to walk.

I would totally agree with this now after just watching the segment on Lorraine in the UK, she was speaking to Ross King, the shows US entertainment correspondent about how powerful the documentary is and twice she said to him about an imminent announcement and you could tell he knew that something is indeed coming.

I know how happy everyone was when she surprised us all at the Grammys, and a lot of people said she looked so good. However, if I'm being honest, I really thought she looked tired, and nervous/scared (good in general but idk not fully well -first time back, so it makes sense too, right?). But I'm not one to whine, it was just my point of view/observation that i kept to myself at the time (I also didn't think she looked so bad-I wasn't dramatic thinking she looked oh so bad, just nervous/tired maybe) so I kept it to myself. Plus, with all of the positive reactions here, I didn't wanna feel like the pessimistic "Debbie downer" fan you know? Also, way too many of us criticize some of the stupidest things... her makeup, outfits etc... it's kind of gross and so superficial even if it's meant to come from a place of love, if you know what i mean. But now looking at her in these recent clips. She looks thinner (healthy) and happy, energetic and confident. It's a world of a difference. The way she walks out even with all the noise and lights... she seems miles ahead of what, just a few months or so in time? So happy to see her like this....so happy

I agree it’s not my feeling… but the media is going to pick up on it. These people can’t seem to correlate the documentary was filmed 2-3 years ago.

And can we take a minute to appreciate how sweet and kind RC is? I think it is very touching that he is supporting Celine, always next to her. :wub:

Can’t wait for what the future holds. Celine is very poetic in her clothing, she was rocking red for courage because she correlated red with strength and courage… now she wears white, which people typically correlate with REBIRTH.

 

I think it’s the REBIRTH of Celine Dion! :clapping:

I love the fact that she is out and about. She looks healthy and so happy. But to me the most important part is that her son is with her every step of the way.
