She did answer “you heard right” when that interviewer asked her about the Vegas rumors at the premiere. Also, Hoda told us to get ready to go to Vegas. I would say the fact that it will be Vegas is pretty much as confirmed as the possibility of a new show itself at this point.

Well it was back in May that she said those things so we know they were already “putting the show together” more than a month ago. I suppose it depends on how long that would take before rehearsals can get underway. Also, there was that info (might have been John Kats) that Céline was hoping for a return this year…

If I had to guess, I would assume they are working with resorts world to fully pick the The dates that they think is possible. I bet she’s also in the process of maybe even working with her conductor Scott in terms of talking about the set list and some of the visuals involved. I’m really interested in seeing how they go about putting this new show together, especially now that she may have triggers of light and sound. I wonder how they navigate a show in Vegas without making it too much. I’m sure she’s still working with her vocal coach. When Hoda asked the question if her voice is fully back, I don’t know why when she said “not fully back”, but she seemed like she had to think about that answer, I think she seems confident in her voice right now. She probably hasn’t felt confident in it in years… My prediction is she is probably a better state now than she was in at least the last six or seven years vocally.

It also makes me laugh to think of that wistful reflection she shared (in the Oprah tour iirc?) that she often talked with her mother about how to keep RC grounded despite all the lavish things provided to him, and it's not like she can make him sleep in the drawer or wear tatty clothes like she/her siblings did... fast-forward to her big-bodied teens being waited on hand and foot by a butler with milkshakes lolll

Well, being double-jointed helps lol but yeah, she's always been athletically impressive, and, most of all, the ENERGY. Wow.

 

I think she meant keeping RC grounded more so as an empathic, sympathetic, aware human being. She’s never shied away from acknowledging that she has these luxuries (such as a butler), but she never wanted to allow the privileges her family has to stifle her kids from being humble, kind hearted people. You can be rich, and still in touch with reality.

Here's something I'm still struggling to understand: how was she able to perform at such a high level, up to spring 2020, if she was just masking symptoms with high doses of Valium & other (presumably inappropriate for the condition) meds? Physically, how was she able to put on such energetic shows? Even if they temporarily relieved her spasms and pain, wouldn't those dosages drain her and knock her out?

 

And if she was able to do it then, with all those wrong meds in her system, wouldn't she be in better position to do it now that she's under a correct treatment plan for her illness?

 

That, plus how is she able to handle crowds, lights, sounds? Judging by commentary from other SPS patients, this is what they're most perplexed by, because most are triggered by these things and could never go to a concert or sporting event. So it seems they're all wondering what it is she's doing.

 

I have a feeling she’s doing some type of sensory therapy too.

My mother was in tears today because she saw the seizure scene. She said nobody should suffer this much, and that she wanted to give Celine a hug.

 

Pretty much how all of us feel.

 

I am trying to think positively about this. That the worst is behind and that better days are coming. Maybe it is a defense mechanism, but it is also a wish.

My prediction is she is probably a better state now than she was in at least the last six or seven years vocally.

 

I think her voice was pretty damn close to the old Celine in the 2017 tour and she sang more songs fully live than she had in a long time (even if she did her “cheating” as she calls it during the climax of MHWGO) so I for one would be extremely happy if she was able to get anywhere near as close to those vocals again.

I agree but… Who cares. Celine has always said she was scared of the industry and didn’t “hang”… always “went home”, this film was for her fans. And Celine was and always will be sort of an “outsider” of the industry… probably why we don’t see as many collaborations and duets and we would have wanted, and I’m okay with that, seems like a very unhealthy environment.

One thing that is stuck in my mind since I watched the doc is how lonely or isolated Celine looks. We have some footage with her kids but there's no family or friends around, even on the most suffering times. It's always only her staff.

 

This is so weird to me. But then again, I'm Latin and we are known for having a closer relationship with relatives. Maybe it's just a cultural thing. So, I want to ask you all: any of you also got that impression?

 

You have to remember it was during COVID, and most of her family is also older. If she was having issues and they were not sure what it was, they may have stayed away because they didn't want to get her sick and run her body down more and make things worse for her. what is also possible with her siblings being older is that maybe they just didn't go out themselves during that time.

Great numbers, if Netflix bought the rights in my opinion it might’ve been number 1 or 2 as they reach more viewers. It’s the only prime original on this list!

I'm trying to google how they calculate the viewership numbers and it seems they only apply their model in the US. I mean 828k viewers worldwide -even for 3 days- is very low considering this is the no 1 Amazon Prime movie in the world. I think this documentary can be released on iTunes/Apple TV+ because I just saw a movie under "new movies" on iTunes/Apple TV+ Store and it says Amazon Originals, it's a movie of Eddie Murphy called "Candy Cane Lane".
