A really nice post from Krista Wegener, who headed up this project at Sony Music Vision: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kristawegener_the-last-10-days-have-been-quite-a-ride-activity-7211792413906849792-JXXe

Cool. This is the nice lady I sent a Mail to about Celine's docu in April. Then I received a message from Amazon Prime about the screenings.

I think I found out who Joyce is. Compare the pic in this link to the video from the premiere. It’s definitely her.

Joyce Smyth.

She has managed the Rolling Stones since 2011. Could be partly why Celine was at the Stones gigs a few weeks back.

I wonder does this mean she no longer manages the Stones or is she planning on managing them full time and sharing the Celine role with John?

I don’t follow the Stones to know much about how she’s managed them in recent years. Would be good to know.

She’s had an interesting life! From folk musician to lawyer to Rolling Stones manager. Having a Lawyer represent you is always a good idea (if they’re honest)

Apparently she had a law firm before.

And there are some interesting questions and answers in this article..

Hope now that there will be some great changes for her catalog and everything (past) career related

"I try to bring to bear objective and dispassionate advice, whilst trying to be fearless on their behalf when it comes to negotiating deals.

You also don’t want to be a ‘yes man’. You don’t want get into that line of, Oh, that’s brilliant, if you actually think – or know! – that it’s not a brilliant idea. You need to say, I don’t think that’s a great idea, end of"

"And you’re looking at the past, protecting that, working out what we can do to make the most of that. And then there’s new formats and new music, how do we keep that fresh and alive."

"I think it was Charlie who said it would be a bit ridiculous not to be doing a series of show for their 50th year, when they did it for their 40th.

That mean that I saw my immediate role as, Right, let’s make this happen – and then support that with other things. So we had an exhibition, we had a book"

"Also, key for me was to try and look to the future for our archive, because it is amazing having a 50-plus year archive, some of which is unseen and unheard. But it’s also quite difficult, because if you’re trying to deal with that on your own, the cost of digitization, the cost of just making sure this thing doesn’t disintegrate, and actually having it properly catalogued, it’s a big job."

LOL Amazon’s “because you watched IACD” is recommending Celine (the 2008 Canadian TV drama) and Aline.

Three different films, three completely different Celines!

I do wonder what Valerie Lemercier thinks of this doc.

Hopefully that does bode well for the future and getting her promoting her old stuff as well as the new.

LOL yes that is quite the spectrum of movies about Celine.

I want to add that during the session of Love Again song. When they're listening to the recorded take of her voice. I think Celine did an amazing job harmonizing the part "And you will love" and I think it should have been part of the song. It sounded great!

I thought the same!!

I know... irks me to no end. Like, none of us were there, only the two people involved. You have her account, published in print, it ain't difficult to find.

Is it a truthful? Is it the full story? We'll never know. But it's the only one we've got and it's from the source herself. Anything else is conjecture and speculation.

Exactly and all the interviews they have done there is nothing that makes you think there was anything but love and respect between them. I am sure they had problems like every married couple but to always bring up that maybe things are not above board at this point is just so annoying. Every person who has actually met them say how much they were in love.

'I am, in life and death, the woman of only one man.'

I’ve just finished watching a few minutes and I’m not quite sure what to think or say because I don’t think I’ve fully processed what I’ve just seen. I’ll definitely will be watching again.

Did you also notice at the end credits, they no longer credit Celine as a co-writer of THLIL

Wasn't Celine being credited as a co-writer the product of that infamous deal they had with songwriters to give her publishing on LTAL?

Posted (edited)

It looked familiar and now I know why!

I would loooove to have a little look around

She’s a co-writer because she changed a few lyrics of the original Diana king version.

Also when recording, normally she goes to the Vegas studio at Palms right? But this looked like they set it up just for her.

I was thinking the same. Did they just put together this “studio” because they knew they might need more time and this would allow them to take as much time as they needed. So many questions as to why it was this way and where could it have been.

Is there a single news organization in the world she has not spoken with :-D

I mean... I don't mind! I'm honestly amazed how much we're finding out from these Irene interviews. I thought maybe she'll do a Q&A or two, an interview or 2, and that'll be it. But the volume has been such a pleasant surprise! And pretty much every single one of these interviews tells us something new and fascinating about Celine. The floodgates have opened and so much is pouring in, after years of silence.

Still no sign of that Q&A from the Portland Art Museum though.

I know I didn’t want it to end… hopefully we aren’t in for months on end of silence again. Especially when her team doesn’t know how to communicate with the fan base, so Irene has been doing their job.

I’m also thrilled to have so many interviews with Irene. Having all of this new information after years of silence is a bit overwhelming.

I wonder why none of the talk shows have reported anything about the doc? Maybe they have been instructed no comment, until next week when as much people have seen the doc? I don't know, seems awfully quiet in the talk show arena...

Are they maybe on break right now or if they film ahead of time. I know live with Kelly and Mark keeps saying previously recorded.

UK talk shows discussed it (Loose Women and Lorraine, that I’m aware of).

Also when showed Rene's pic when Celine said he gifted her the Maria Callas necklace it sits in a tray we see on the footstool in first shot when the twins interviewing Celine. Just moved to other side of the books.

Am I the only one who bristles whenever Maria Callas's name (and, now, necklace) comes up? Callas who lost her voice and suffered/died due to an incurable neuro-muscular degenerative disease...
