About Diane Warren, I think we should keep it mind she writes for all genres of music and she writes 100s if not 1000s of songs. It makes sense that the best songwriters will have some clunkers. I don't think she produces the songs, right?

Celine sounds like Anastacia on her album from 2001. Even the song seems similar to one of those on the Anastacia's album. Bridge is disappointing and the ending too. It's nice to hear something new, though since there is still no promised french album

is not that bad but is kinda without a good structure.

that part that says " i can fly across the sky" seems to break the song.

 

also i think it lacks a decent intro to create moment for the first time we hear her voice.

 

it feels like diane was with celine writing other stuff like unfinished songs or other recent song then diane said

like if diane played the instrumental several times for celine to improvise

and kept the best ones.

There does seem to be a problem with the production too though. It’s as if no one wants a good finished product, worthy of Céline Dion and Diane Warren. The song is decent though. It doesn’t really build up to anything like I was expecting but it’s fine, if only it were performed and produced better.

Me too. I’ve always loved “Unfinished Songs” and never got why people kept bashing it. The new song is alright though, definitely not the weakest of Céline’s career.

There are some songs on Courage that are just as bad: “How Did You Get Here”, “Look at Us Now” and “I Will Be Stronger”, which are otherwise good songs so it’s a shame. She also does a weird “closed-throat” thing on “For the Lover That I Lost” and “Perfect Goodbye” but that’s different, a different kind of weird. Unexplainable to me, especially given how many times Céline has said that she is a perfectionist and can sing for hours to make it sound perfect.

I just realized listening a couple more times…. That it’s actually not a bad song… it’s just the approach, Celine tries so hard to emulate a cross between Gaga and Sia, when she should be doing her signature style and the song would amazing! However, the production and layering of vocals was all done badly…. Just felt rushed and cheap, this final product makes “unfinished songs” look like a piece of art.

The song isn't bad but the bridge is terrible, so unstructured - it kills the momentum of the songs.

 

What's with these vocals?! Nasal with overpowering accent and the worst enunciation ever "Ken you accept anything laayce" "do ma baaayst" - a parody of herself.

 

Feel like I need to listen to classic Celine to cleanse my ears 😂 I defend Celine when my friends imitate her singing "I got my own imperfecschuns" No way can I let them hear this!
