I’m glad she has BYLM, but “Spanish Guitar” was a missed opportunity and would’ve been a great addition to FIY album. I love that song!

I thought her pronunciation was much better than a lot of the songs on the courage album… I think Diane is great at what she does and may push celine more with this, but there were a few words that weren’t that clear but I think that was down to her doing her signature playing with her voice, if that makes sense which can make you think she is being lazy.

 

Someone else said they also thought it was like a new mid tempo update version of my love, but you could tell it was a Diane Warren song at the same time.

 

Not going to say it’s amazing but I may need a few more listens, ( I first heard that’s the way it is and I hated it at first and it’s now my favourite Celine song) but as I said the message of the song is lovely and suits Celine.

 

Can’t wait to hear what you all think and to hear it again myself

However, I am sure Diane Warren tweeted that it was actually Spanish Guitar and not UMH. I'd tend to believe Diane rather than Tony because she would know better as a songwriter.

She was offered both songs. “UnBreak My Heart” was the one that was flipped with Toni Braxton for BYLM.

 

Spanish Guitar was just a Celine reject that was intended for her and later went to Toni Braxton, in the same why she passed on “There You’ll Be” and it went to Faith Hill and, “Don’t want to miss a thing”, that went to Aerosmith after Celine said no.

I have a hard time believing Celine would turn down Unbreak My Heart. Toni Braxton's low notes...it really sounds like that song was meant for her. But I would have loved to hear Celine's version. There's no way that song was not going to be a hit for whoever sang it.
