Chantemoi Posted November 28, 2020 at 01:00 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 01:00 AM (edited) ... I just joined in on all the fun! Sounds like this performance failed to put a "smile" on everyone's faces I'm so glad this wasn't anything I planned my day around, or looked forward to in any way, or had any hope for making up for the past year of nothing... Okay, I take that back: her Somewhere Over the Rainbow performance for her mother was one of those iconic performances she used to do - but everything else in the Courage era has been a let-down. I really wish I had seen her live more at her prime. Which is sad, because the 2016/2017 era was pure fire. (She even seemed happier!) Something must be going on with her... maybe menopause or something? Edited November 28, 2020 at 01:03 AM by Chantemoi 3 Quote
Xpresso Posted November 28, 2020 at 01:15 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 01:15 AM I find it amusing to read that she never cared for her fans bla bla bla. She did for over 30 years and now she might not feel like being in the public eye. So what? Try doing the same work for 35 years. You might feel like doing something different eventually. Too bad many of you weren't around in the 90's when she was everywhere - to a point where there was a Celine overexposure and she had to disappear. People couldn't take it anymore - they were so fed up. Just like now, but the other way around! 4 Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted November 28, 2020 at 02:16 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 02:16 AM Many fans act like Céline is their personal trained monkey. If she doesn’t dance how or when they want her to or sing how or when they want her to, they’re gonna go upstairs to their room and they’re never coming down. That’ll show her! Then she’ll be sorry!!!!!!! 5 Quote
PuraVida Posted November 28, 2020 at 03:39 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 03:39 AM Kylie's always game for a bit of promo and she's been everywhere for the release of Disco! Three US network TV performances, oodles of Zoom radio interviews, magazine and newspaper interviews, a virtual concert, she's on Dua Lipa's virtual concert today - she's putting in the work, much of it without needing to leave her house. It's paid off well for, too - she'll never again reach the same heights she has in the past, but this album has been her best-performing in 10 years. If Céline put in even 20% of Kylie's effort, we'd probably be very happy. Yup, also the Kylie comparison is very weird because she has never been super popular in the US. With Celine, she has. So Celine promoting would actually make a difference. Quote
PuraVida Posted November 28, 2020 at 03:44 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 03:44 AM Obviously some fans are more nit picky than others, but if this many people are complaining, we know there is a problem. Celine will only come out if charity or money is involved it seems. It’s her life, that’s fine. But it doesn’t make the fans happy. Like, Celine only posted a #MeToo thing when a corporation, L’Oréal, was involved. 4 Quote
thatstheteacherinmehbaby Posted November 28, 2020 at 06:44 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 06:44 AM (edited) yea after watching the nurses heroes concert video earlier today (since i had missed it on thanksgiving, i had a very BUSY day with my family & all,) but even though i was a bit disappointed that celine was only in a small part of the ending song, & also did not perform a whole song on her own & all... but i am very GRATEFUL that we did get to see & hear celine sing after soooo many months (the last time was the lady gaga global concert from 8 months ago!!) i am just grateful to see & hear her @ all these days... especially since concerts, festivals, etc are not going to be coming back anytime soon!! i do think this event should have been on television just like lady gagas concert was... then i think there would have been alot more viewers than this show just being online on youtube competing with billions of other videos, @ least on tv it would have more exposure than it did!! 😊❤ Edited November 28, 2020 at 06:44 AM by thatstheteacherinmehbaby Quote sincerely, maria <3

Like, Celine only posted a #MeToo thing when a corporation, L'Oréal, was involved.she does it all for the money and it became very obvious now that she manages herself. When Aldo was around he offered extras for fans like live streams from her concerts, Access Limite etc. because it was not hard to do and she didn’t have to do anything extra. There were people who filmed her and provided the footage. She doesn’t give a crap about stuff like this. And this is what I miss. 3 Quote

I feel she is more distant from her fans and music than she ever was. In this year she could have easily record random covers or original album songs from her home to please her fanbase. Or just record a little talk to stay connected with her fans. Yet the only thing we see is her posing in the forest in designerclothes. She clearly discovered this new passion. but artistically I really miss the old Celine who had so much passion to sing and to stay connected with her fans. She does not owe us anything but we bought her music, paid for extremely high concerttickets. Jeanette Posted November 28, 2020 at 11:28 AM Posted November 28, 2020 at 11:28 AM I’m so sick of the Mariah comparisons and that Celine is only in it for the money sh*t! If that were true, she too, like Mariah, would be everywhere this year releasing any old stuff she could to milk the cash cow while her tour’s in limbo. Don’t get me wrong, I’d eat up anything she was to give us but maybe just maybe she’s aware of the financial hardship this virus is causing around the world. Not so much in Mariah’s case, this, she just keeps giving to the fans blah blah bullsh*t, I don’t recall her giving anything for nothing and Apple TV will be paying her a tone. She hasn’t, to my knowledge, contributed, no matter how little, to any of these charity events and to me there in lies the difference!! I’ve said it before, who knows how Celine would’ve been able to keep on with this tour once her Mother’s death actually hit, I believe the break in this tour probably came as a blessing for her mental health and well-being. She’s been through so much since the loss of Rene and hadn’t stopped working in all that time of grief. Please can we stop with the selfishness and give the woman the long overdue break she deserves or if you can’t, find someone else to be a fan of, maybe Mariah is more for you. 5 Quote

Being on a die hard fan forum discussing Céline Dion shouldn't allow us this amount of bullshit. We should rather think if this level of emotion some people here seem to experience is at one point rational. At the very end, she chose to isolate and have a real break. Deal with it. At this point you look pathetic. 5 Quote

Everyone deals with grief differently and since Celine kept working through most of it, I think reality is really hit her now that things have slowed down. If she needs the time, she knows better than anyone else. And yes she has the (financial) luxury of being able to take a break unlike many people, why can't she take advantage of it? She has earned her money after all. I think some people are jealous of her wealth it seems. 2 Quote

Everything she has given, we have paid a fortune for. She didn't give it for free... Chantemoi Posted November 28, 2020 at 04:33 PM Posted November 28, 2020 at 04:33 PM * Not every fan complaining right now is the type of fan that thinks Céline is a circus monkey ... * Vocally, the only times she’s broken silence this year are to sing a couple of lines in an ensemble. Whether she’s going through a rough spot or not, it looks lazy. She’s spent a lot of her recent career out of the spotlight (Vegas) yet when she would perform at benefits/award shows, she would bring her A-game. I don’t see that spark anymore, so it’s natural that her core base is upset. She built her career on the type of performances that would leave the audience with goosebumps and tears in their eyes. In my humble opinion, she’d be better off staying away from these tepid performances that fail to do anything but water down her legacy. The less she performs, the more each performance matter to the fans... but then again, she’s free to do what she wants right? She’s the boss. * the “one with nature” Instagram posts are designed purely to show us that Céline is “okay” —not dead, not in an asylum. But I’m afraid they are turning more and more into the street runway looks she was going for pre-COVID. Which only fans the flames that she’s given up on her music and is more interested in fashion. * the bun is here to stay - deal with it!!! 6 Quote

guigafs15 Posted November 28, 2020 at 05:33 PM Posted November 28, 2020 at 05:33 PM The hypocrisy in here is running loose. People are all pretending that it's okay with have no content from Celine at all, no performance, no videos, no talk, no definition about a tour - BTW, a tour with only a couple of new songs, let's not forget about that - and poorly done participations on charity events. But everyone gets extremely excited everytime something is about to happen, with expectations of her singing new songs, dropping a new video, a new single... Then, the expectations are frustrated, as always, everybody complains and it's all ok, until someone point it out that this is all Celine's own fault. That's when the blind fans start the attacks "she deserves, she works too much, her husband died, her mother died, go listen to Mariah and bla bla bla". Everyone in here, as fan, would love to have more of Celine, more videos, more concert, more appearances, more performances, more singles... The difference is that some of us hold Celine responsable for the lack of care and dedication to her career, the other ones blame the universe or her team or whatever. But we're all craving for more! 5 Quote
