Why do i have a feeling that her new song will have a loooot of "bedroom voice". OMG i hope the sia phase is over

 

That's exactly what I perceived when watching the trailer this morning on Twitter. The new song being played in the background gave me the vibe of "PMLALS, are you daydreaming?" Then I caught the word "dreaming" to re-listened to Imagine where I'm not the only one

The movie looks more interesting than I expected! It's nice to see that Celine has a decent amount of scenes and jokes, the public will be reminded how funny she is

 

Not the type of movie I would ever go see without Celine starring in it, but seeing new footage of Celine after her being absent for so long is a breath of fresh air. So nice to see her!

I just realized Celine's listed as an Executive Producer on the poster!

 

Well, she has been reported as EP all along. But - I think we discussed back at the time when we first found out (3 years ago at this point, or so?) - it doesn't actually mean she did any producing. It's often a negotiated title (as in, her people negotiated the credit for her), sometimes it might mean the person contributed to making the film happen financially, or through "in-kind" contributions, like just lending their name to it or making a key connection, etc. EP is pretty much a "honorific" credit.

Well, I expected cheese and cheese I got!

Honestly, the trailer doesn't leave much to the imagination. I don't need to see the movie, those 2.5 minutes told me what I need to know! If it weren't for curiosity about Celine's role in it, I wouldn't bother, as this kind of thing is really of no interest to me.

 

That very last phone call scene (Hi I'm Celine/ Sure I'm Mariah) reminded me of a story Celine told on a talk show once. She made some large purchase, and the credit card company called her to make sure it's not fraud, and they asked for her PIN or some password which she clearly didn't know, and they said "well, we need proof it's you" to which she said "well, I don't know it, what do you want me to do, sing for you?"

 

Lots of promo for this all over the place (does CNN's main account post rom-com trailers normally? ). I wish Sony did this level of promo for Courage...

Rom com's are incredibly predictable and generic at this point. I haven't seen a good one in ages, like more than 20 years at least imo. If it were a romance/drama then maybe we could expect something more from it.

 

Nobody should be expecting anything crazy creative or award worthy from this movie. Just enjoy it for what it is or just to see Celine. Romantic comedies aren't movies I choose to watch, I'm here for Celine alone. But who knows, maybe it's cute and entertaining.

I'm glad the title is Love Again. I didn't care for the change. Hey, I'm excited for this fluffy movie. Too much turmoil in the world right now. I look forward to the escape.

 

Still I wish she would have been a character instead of cameo.

It does not sound like her. Except for the bit when she sings in English.

I would not argue, though. Perhaps when she acts, she does not speak the same as when she's been interviewed.

 

No, you can trust me, she's in my ears since 1988 - her singing and her talking voice! It's her! Listen closely ! - It would have been too weird to synchronize her for the French version. Why pay a French synchronize speaker when your actress has French as her mother language?!!!

Does anyone here remember what interview this was? I’m thinking Julie Snyder or one of those other light talk-show ones. It was definitely in French.
