It’s been 2 decades since I read it, but it’s much better than her autobiography (which I read only once and gained nothing new from, aside from a few forgettable, personal stories).

 

It’s time for a new autobiography from Celine and one where she actually reads it through audible!

My partner actually read the book Sam is reading when we first got together and it perfectly bought him up to speed.

Wasn't My story my dream mostly th authorised biography anyway? Just a bit changed here and there? Most interesting part of MSMD was the part on RC, if I remember well.

 

For Keeps was way more interesting and personal than MSMD.

It was, it came out while she was pregnant with RC and ends on them finding out it was a boy. I bought it the day it came out and didn't put it down until I had finished it the next day. Her life story was pretty amazing even up to that point and now there is another 20 dramatic years on top!

Not only is Celine an international star which we all know, but Priyanka Chopra has an army of a fanbase as well in one of the most populated areas of the world! She has over 85 MILLION followers on instagram alone.

 

I think with the respective fan bases of Celine, Chopra, and Sam… it could really make this movie very successful!

Well, that’s clearly what Sony is trying to engineer here. That’s why they cast who they did, and why they wanted the part of the singer played by a real star, with an existing fan base. And clearly, had to be a Sony artist.

I truly believe that SONY had Celine in mind for this movie and then shaped the rest of the cast afterwards. Clearly for Sony, we know by using their artist it’s a win/ win. I was just pointing out the fact that for example getting Priyanka onboard is really tapping into a very international audience. They coulda chosen somebody else, someone who’s more so popular in the states, for the lead role… it seemed they chose Chopra deliberately for that more international audience Which Celine also has.

How did your film end up featuring Celine Dion?

 

First, I adapted the script from the German film Text fuer Dich (Text for You). In the German film, there’s a fictional character named Henrietta Boote who wears her heart on her sleeve and is just really larger than life. The studio always wanted that role to be a real star. As we were thinking about who would be good for the role, someone thought of Celine Dion, and then we felt it had to be her.

They are different books.

 

Celine (the authorized bio) was released in 1998 (during the Titanic/LTAL hype)

 

 

 

My Story, My Dream was released in 2000 (during her baby break). It includes her pregnancy with RC. I love the book cover.

maybe as an attempt to freshen her image up. But I absolutely agree, the standard logo is so iconic! It needs to come back!

You know what hits me about this movie? The role Celine plays in helping a love story be when her own has ended.

 

I think it is the perfect casting. Her acting as a 'love mentor' has such meaning!

I believe that this will be great. I consider Sam and Priyanka to be an excellent choice. Who better to play a love mentor than Celine. I can't think of anyone better than Celine. Professionally she sings love, Personally she spent her life fighting and living for her love. That can't be beat.

I saw today Titanic on cinema, but just before the movie I saw the trailer. Everyone was like "wow, Celine, isn't she sick or something?" and at the end, a few girls were singing IACBTM. Such a positive vibe.

I would think before Celine does any promo for this film at all ; even if it is pre taped she’s going to have to give an interview on her new diagnosis / condition given all of the speculation etc since her announcement last year. Otherwise the media will inevitably only want to focus on that and not the movie if she just appears out of the blue.

Either way that will be the case… if she gave a sit down exclusive with one person about her condition and spoke about it for 2 hours straight and then try to promote this film… all the other interviewers/ channels would want their SPS questions etc. She did her big sit downs about Rene’s passing and 3 years later they were still leading the interview with those questions… the media is so much about getting into on Celine’s personal life because she’s been so guarded they could really careless about albums/ movies or any project

I also hope that they gave Celine lines in this movie, & I mean real ACTUALLY lines lol... & I really really really hope & pray that this will NOT be "Muppets 2.0" where Celine is on the screen for only 5 seconds & doesn't even speak single word! Hopefully this will be much better than the Muppets movie! That was such a huge disappointment & waste of $$ for movie theater tickets (since I had to take my kids with me for Muppets, & trust me that was a sucky experience, I thought that movie sucked!)

Yea I have seen the post about "new songs", but it really MIGHT NOT MEAN ACTUAL "NEW SONGS", know what I'm saying? It might be unreleased songs from the "Courage" album, (meaning songs that have not ever been released to the public at this point, as only a few songs were ever released from "Courage" before the covid pandemic happened & shows were cancelled.) So even though the songs might not be "new" TO US - Celine's fans who have bought & listened to "Courage" many times during the past 3 & a half years since it's release in 2019 - it would be CONSIDERED NEW to most of the general public who have not ever bought or listened to the "Courage" album, so the songs from that album might be "new" to them. Sorry to have to say this yet again, but "Courage" was for the most part a HUGE FLOP! Yes it was #1 on the billboard charts for it's first week, but the following week it fell right off the charts & never went back up the charts again! So most of the general public most likely do not know of the existence of the "Courage" album or any of the songs on it!

 

So like many of the other members on this forum have written besides me, do not be surprised if the "new songs" are just left over songs from "Courage". After all, with Celine's current health struggles, I very much doubt Celine has been able to record any new songs as she has said herself that because of her spasms she CAN NOT be able to sing & perform on stage (just like she was not able to participate in that tribute album from last year because of her current health issues!) So while it would be awesome if Celine has recorded any actual new songs lately, but because of the health issues she is going through with the Stiff Persons Syndrome that is making it hard for her to sing right now, we should anticipate that the "new songs" are most likely just a few unreleased songs from "Courage", so we do not get our hopes too high & be disappointed (as no offense, that seems to happen very often on this forum, there has been much disappointments during the past 3 years every time Celine has had to cancel/postpone shows many times, & whenever other things did not end up working out (because of Celine's health issues.)
