I'm not sure if seeing her without makeup and wearing a bun was supposed to be shocking, as that has been her look for 10 years, but I did enjoy the video!

Pros: Finally she's doing a REAL music video, performing the song!! And no random people shots in between.

 

Cons: back to black and white again!!!!!!!!!! :w00t: It would have been all much better in colour

And of course, his first music video in 6 years had to be focused... on fashion

I love the concept and it fits the song and her perfectly. If she sang this song say 15 or 20 years ago, the message would not have been as strong as today. Love it.

She’s a fashion icon now! I can’t see why anybody would have a problem with her combining the that with her music. It’s all leverage and promotion. Fashion will always be a part of her performances now, embrace it 🙂

Umh... It doesn't go anywhere but it's nice! I like the water. Too many repetitive scenes with her moving her arms and hands in slow motion. The only movement that goes along with the lyrics of the song is almost cut of from the editing.

Best parts for me:

 

1) When she's emerging from the water :wub: That was the best for me.

 

2) When she's in front of the mirror, but her face doesn't show since the camera is from behind

 

3) When she's taking off her makeup and then we get there a close-up of her face. Brilliant!

 

And no thank you. No need to see her merged with absurd fashion clothes, it's only distracting, and sometimes she looks even ridiculous (Paris this year).

 

Just her and her body is beauty too. No need to see her wearing any flamboyant clothes

 

The b/w thing ruins a big part of the experience though. If only they had alternated b/w with some parts in colour.

Also, I think black and white works for this. Every outfit in black or white so there’s not much colour to be missed anyway

Well... it fits so much for concept and style of the song. It's ok for me, was nice to see Celine singing the song and not just acting and posing.

Now I'm waiting for a colurful video of Lying Down (and if it's themed as a story of domestic violence and Celine shows between takes singing the song it's perfect for me).

After watching the video I am once again in total admiration of Celine. She has once again showed that she is not only an amazing artist but also a role model. How many singers, artists would be caught on video without make up, showing their true self. This video is so her. Her love of fashion, dance, music and above all her love for herself, a woman in her 50s. Congrats Celine you totally rock it!

That's an opinion, your opinion... I can come up with quite a few in full colour that are some of her best album covers too: ANDHC, The Collector's Series Vol. 1, Falling Into You, Let's Talk About Love...

 

Though I have to say there's not much to choose from: most of her album covers, since Unison 1990 have been in B&W or sepia tones
