My inkling is that Celine’s dancing will be saved for the Courage music video. 😊

 

This is me just daydreaming but it would work beautifully. I also can’t imagine that they wouldn’t make a music video for Courage considering they’re making videos for the other 2 songs.

I think she's saving all the dancing for the Lying Down video. She kind of hinted at that so we'll see.

To me , There was no reason at all to expect a bombastic video.

 

1. Celine has never been a fan of making music videos, excepting IACTMN and TTII, all of her videos have been just "average". Except by those two, all of them have been low budget, and with very cheap directors. They lack of creativity too (you can have a low budget but still be very creative).

2. She has not recorded a studio video in 6 years (the last was incredible).

3. She´s an old woman who is also a little tired of working so hard, I don´t see her enjoying the exhaustive process of making a video (I think she is forced to do it). Cher is older btw, but I see that Cher really enjoys a lot being involved in the creative process, being a diva and making extravagant things.

 

It is not wise to compare her to Taylor or to many others current singers. She is in another level, and as she says "she does not need to prove anything". She is just a Charlemagne girl who wants to sing.

We should not expect much from her videos now on ... It is such a miracle we are still getting videos from her...

Fashion is often deemed to be about perfection.

 

And actually with her fashion statements Celine has been showing that it is not about that but about being yourself and playing with it and trying, daring, feeling good for yourself and not for the others.

Perfect timing. Fits her like a glove. It could not have been better. 🙂

This album and all what is going around is the most personal thing she has ever been doing in her English repertoire (besides Miracle and ANDHC).

For the first time I'm in the minority. I'm not impressed at all with the video. It's very basic imo. The message of the song isn't about physical imperfections to me but about personal/internal ones so that's hard to show in a video but it's not impossible. This was done in a photoshoot studio and by the looks of it so was LD so my expectations for that video have lowered considerably.

I too think the video could have used some color because the song is upbeat, no matter the theme of it. I picture them having some clips where Celine is in b&w but her surroundings are in color. The final shot would have been better in color.

 

I wish she would hire a director to come up with interesting mv concepts.

 

Still, I'm just glad to see them put effort and give us more than one mv.

 

The final scene is proof to me that Celine looks more beautiful with no/light make up than with heavy. And after so many videos with like 10 layers of filtering it's so good to see her all natural self, embracing her "Imperfections"

 

Same feeling, not that it is an excuse but it seems that the kind of video you are talking about will be for lying down, other songs will be made with outtakes from other promotional/fashion stuff. I hope the dancing outtakes will be used for Courage the song.

 

This is honest, this is smart. It looks like they're trying their best, and with artistry.

 

But yeah if I just analyse this video I feel a bit the same.

I think it's a gorgeous music video (and I adore the black and white). The message she gives is current and she looks so confident and in her element. Perfect autumn bop IMO.

Yesterday I was complaining about not getting any mv..

 

I'm not that impressed but it's on a par with her standards. Not worse.

 

I would even say that there are more plans ( already with her outfits changes) than her previous ones.

There's even a message, not that subtle but there is one.

I don't see it as that at all. I see it as a commentary on all the hate she's gotten over the years, particularly lately with all the toxicity of social media.

Well, it's my point of view, lyrically this kind of story fits with the song...

I never want to be a part of this "hate" section, never ever, just I'm talking from my place as a fan/musician.

I like the video...... However; optics are horribly bad, where is the official announcement of the cancellations on her pages? And then to release a music video on the day of the cancelled shows is bad timing. I understand it was planned before she knew she’d be ill but it just probably rubs some of those fans that we’re supposed to be attending the shows this week, the wrong way.

Well I don't think we get an official statement for her cancellations : she just announced officially the new dates.

 

And maybe it was done on purpose : releasing the MV so "everyone" talks about it instead of her being sick. After 3 shows off a big ww tour, it wouldn't definitely be good press.
