Dear Lord, don't you all understand we'll NEVER see the "Lying Down" music video?

 

I think some people are still thinking they'll release the Encore Un Soir video someday.

yes, but Celine started out as a scandal free, kind, family oriented and disciplined and hard working role model artist from a big humble family. A talented golden voice. This edgy stuff wouldn’t really work well for her. I see her as the total opposite of Madonna etc.

 

I'm still stupefied that anyone can possibly think a children's clothing line is controversial or edgy (in general - not saying you view it that way). I don't particularly like artists slapping their name on non-music-related products, but if they're going to do it, lending support to gender-neutral clothing for kids is one of the better ones. Who cares if there are skulls or not everything is bright pink and blue?! People get way too worked up over completely harmless things. This is one "controversy" that's all about the people pushing the scandal narrative rather than the artist herself. And considering it's tied into the whole Q-anonsense, well, that's all you really need to know.

 

Considering how easily Céline and René skated through the potential minefield of announcing their relationship, she's had a pretty charmed career devoid of scandal. Could you imagine announcing a relationship like theirs today? The story would be of a manager 26 years the artist's senior grooming her for years as a child before marrying her and controlling her and her career (and let's be honest, that view can certainly be applied to C&R, although longevity has been kind to their relationship in hindsight). Talk about a scandal! That said, I'm sure over the years the TC/Sony machine actively squashed and managed various things behind the scenes before they could gain any traction.

I think many of us would love more content getting released.

But it falls back onto Celine herself.

She isn't as manager-minded as we'd like her to be (at least not when it comes to promotion), and she doesn't seem interested in bringing in new management or new voices within her team who tell her what she should be doing (like releasing rare materials, engaging more on social media, etc.)

For all we know, her team has begged her to release the Lying Down music video.

 

I think Celine keeps focus on the big stuff... preparing shows, making big decisions, and keeping herself sane.

Who knows... perhaps someday she'll get more into a promo-mindset and we'll start seeing some more treasures trickle out.

 

Right now, I find myself having patience with her and her team.

I know she's probably working on Text for You and very busy preparing the new Vegas show.

Although we're pretty sure it was shot, there's no proof that it was finished with post-production. The video simply may not exist as a watchable video - just Celine in front of a green screen. Time for people to let this go.

An artist won't tell something to the world if they know that the project isn't stable and may fall.

I guess this video turned out to be really bad and maybe it’s better to leave it unreleased. Remember the unreleased LAmour Existe Encore video that a fan shared with us recently? I’m really grateful and happy that we were able to see it, but it was really disturbing. I would like to see the LD video for myself, but I don’t necessary want an official release of it. But what they could do if they didn’t like the final music video is releasing a live performance from the courage world tour as the official video. But they even didn’t do that. Maybe they didn’t want to make LD a single. I don’t know. They act like a bunch of amateurs. It’s a shame that Celine doesn’t have a professional serious team. Exactly and that's why so many here won't let go because Celine said it, so it never was a rumor but real news. But unfortunately the video never saw the light of the day. Big shame because the song screams music video. It is the second most viewed video on courage and would have most likely twice as much views if it has a music video. Remember it's only the audio which attract people to listen, imagine that along with a music video. I'd really like to know why they didn't released the music video, they could have made something then, a live video from courage tour. Her performing the song and playing the track over it, there you have a music video (good enough for just to have something, something to watch for the eyes)

An artist will absolutely tell something to the world and then, for business reasons, plans change. The Encore Un Soir video was never released either.

What is really cool though is that we got to see the making of from videos that were filmed by people on the streets in Paris seeing Celine filming it. It think that’s pretty cool. Also, there was an official commercial on tv that showed part of the clip, which means that there is a final music video, but judging by that clip I must say that it’s way beneath my expectations for a global superstar like Celine. Im glad we have this clip, because it gives us an idea of how this video is. With the other unreleased videos we have no idea.

It does make me wonder though, why don’t they shoot music videos that are actually good enough to be released? If so many other artists can create these incredible videos for their songs, why can’t Céline? It’s not as if she’s directing them herself, she could get the best director out there and make some videos that are worth the money put into shooting them and then they’ll be pleased with the result and release them.

I mean, it’s not really up there with the best 2016 music videos but it’s still better than a lyric video or an audio one. Given how successful the song was even without a video, it would definitely have been worth releasing it.

Someone at Sony or Céline herself wasn't happy with the end result and they just stopped everything. But I agree, someone of Céline's stature in the music industry should be able to release much better music videos... and more creative too. But Sony probably doesn't care to invest in her videos anymore.

Sony Music is certainly waiting for the "Imperfections" music video to reach the 10M mark on YouTube to reveal the long-awaited "Lying Down" music video... Obviously not!

 

Just another bad decision that only confirms the dismay that is the current management of Celine Dion's career. A great song produced by a great team simply ignored. I imagined a remixed version by David Guetta...

The video was shot, edited and ready to be released until she got ill around promo time in November 2019 and the video was then left to one side.
