I was told today a bit of interesting gossip that might explain why the video was never released... or maybe it will just fan more rumours. But what the helle - no harm sharing it, right?

 

A fan on Instagram was telling me, totally unsolicited, that they have a friend who is a dancer who was allegedly hired for the LD video. The dancer told him that they were all basically naked and covered in red paint.

 

I asked about the Mars theme and his dancer friend hadn’t mentioned anything about that, but he said he would ask him.

At this point I think they should shoot a video for “The Hard Way” to release after the pandemic. It’s a shame they wasted such a good song by not promoting it, as it should and probably could be much more popular. It would be a killer single!

If this is true and it might be a reason why it was stopped then that's truly disappointing. I don't see why they would decide to censor her video when 1. Celine is, unfortunately, not mainstream anymore so she should be given more freedom 2. there are videos doing worse than dancers in "nude" shorts painted in red.

Sorry but it doesn't make sense. If they authorized filming, they certainly knew what was going to be filmed. So why censor the music video? Wait... the same happened with IWYTNM, EUS, etc.

 

Probably the Lying Down is an incredible music video so it doesn’t suits to Celine’s style of music videos.

Where is the creativity that she shows with fashion?

I think that the end result must have been very shocking for an artist like Celine who is known for her love songs and ballads. If that really was the case, then I’m glad it wasn’t released. She already earned a tremendous s*** storm because of her collaboration with Nununu. I don’t disagree. I would love her to try new things, and embrace her edgy side, but she’s not Madonna or Miley. The Instagram ad was great though... it was campy and it showed off her eccentric style.

 

I think we should just prepare ourselves for the likelihood for there being no new ”epic” music videos in her future. If they couldn’t make it happen on this album, I don’t see them spending the money in the future either.

 

It’s weird though - they spent all that time/money goofing off in that mansion for that “Behind Céline Dion’s ‘Courage” interview, that no one but us obsessed fans would watch that interview, but she didn’t sing and she didn’t reveal anything new either. Instead, they could have easily filmed a proper music video there à la Je sais pas/ Next Plans Out/ Call the Man, but what’s the point if they don’t plan on promoting new music from the album?

 

I mean, look at the credits at the end of this video. . . It’s astonishing they’d have all that crew there for such a short promo video, and not bother filming a video.

I actually rather have the opposite. Celine shouldn't have to cut her expression as an artist just to please some conservative folks. That's what we call misogyny! Those lunatics who thinks Celine made a pact with the devil to traffick kids and drink their blood just because she launched a no-gender clothe line should not be endorse, they should be confronted.

I don't think they are NAKED, seeing that Sia wrote the song, Celine has gone to a more Sia approach for this song(with dancers). I think like in Chandelier the girl was wearing a nude cloth, which would look naked from seeing from a distance. They might be wearing a red cloth and had their arms, leg, face, neck painted red.

yes, but Celine started out as a scandal free, kind, family oriented and disciplined and hard working role model artist from a big humble family. A talented golden voice. probably nothing, because even before covid she completely ignored the new album after two weeks of its release and focused only on the tour
