Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

Recommended Posts

It’s all coming back to me now Stevo… July 2019 in Hyde Park, singing along to every song, dancing, Céline impressions, a little wine, elbowing people out of the way while one of our group go to the toilet or bar for the next round, not to mention severe sunburn the next day!

Thank you so much, thank you! :P

Was one of the best days and evenings ever! And on the tube home to the hotel, the whole train singing Celine ❤️

Were you at her Leeds concerts? Every single person in that audience belted their hearts out on every song. I think her U.K. audiences in particular always sing along so it's guaranteed in Birmingham

Never been to a French show?

Lots of footage, fans singing along

I think it's very context-specific. It's much more common outside of the US, but I did notice during the Courage tour that more people had been singing along than the TC tour 10 years before. Rarely saw people singing along in Vegas unfortunately.

A lot of it has to do with conformity as well. If more than a few people around you singing, you'll feel comfortable singing as well. The same goes for standing up and dancing. I just don't know what the deal is for Americans. They're worried about appearing corny or gay. I had two bad experiences with audience members during the last Courage shows that still bother me, luckily my friend put them in their place. Wish I could be at an international show with people who don't give a crap about what others think of them for singing along.

I agree it is very annoying when people around you oversing the singer you paid big bucks for. What I always do, is mime along but not singing. I did not come to a concert to hear bad bathroomsingers.

I can appreciate that but, as a fan, I would be elated that everyone is singing along since I know it makes her so happy. It just makes the experience so much more enjoyable and I think people leave with even more fondness for her when seeing everyone else's excitement.

So the first show is 5/25 in Birmingham, less than 6 weeks…. Hopefully someone can find out about rehearsals or anything….considering she hasn't performed in 2 years, I assume she'd start rehearsals at least a month before the first show.

Perhaps the Ukraine video is some indication that she is currently in rehearsals. I don't imagine she would have done a video unless she was already somewhere with a camera crew and stylist (e.g., rehearsals). Otherwise she would have just made a written statement like she does for all the other tragedies, but perhaps Nelson and Eddy are her new videographers. ^_^ If they cancel, I imagine she she was trying her best but was maybe still feeling back pain.

The Ukraine video seems to be from her Las Vegas home.

New York and Boston, people were singing walking out the arenas, hanging outside singing, and even in the train stations too.

Those are the American travel rules though aren't they. Travel around Europe is now almost back to normal covid wise at least if you are fully vaccinated. So once she and her entourage are over here there should be no issues.

Well, remember she said she was ill. So there's that. I also think that she just doesn't want to anymore.

Yes of course it can always be the case that she is ill (in that case still ill or ill again), but in the past we always assumed that shows are going as planned so I'm doing the same here.

And your other point, that she doesn't want to do it anymore, well I'm not believing it. I can see and understand that she enjoyed her time away from the spotlight but I am sure she is beyond excited to do shows again, being on stage, in the spotlight, seeing and meeting her fans. Maybe she is not as hyped as when she was younger but that's normal. She got used to it by nowadays, but she still enjoys it very much (one can see that in her eyes when she performs (one good example: Newark shows back in 2020)

So I'm very much looking forward to see her again on stage in youtube videos and during my shows which I will see soon :)

Utilita Arena Birmingham sent out a mail about their bag policy today (only small bags allowed). My first time getting excited about a bag policy, I think 😂 It just made it more real, I guess. Could it finally be happening for real?

In my mind, even if they are not 100% certain it will go ahead, they are going to try like Adele did with her Vegas residency and work until the last minute to see if it is possible. Just as probably they did with Celine's RW show

Okay, so how many of you are okay with The Birmingham Plan and are wishing to participate?

I believe they will wait for the last minute to see if Celine is able to perform. I do believe she still enjoy to perform live but lack

the right team next to her.

I'm wishing everyone there a great time and I like the plan, but I won't see her there but in Germany, Mannheim and Munich :)

I hope there aren't too many fans travelling far to see her this time. I've certainly rethought my plans to ever travel to see her again. 3 times I've had shows cancelled. That either means I see her too much, I'm unlucky, or she cancels a lot.

Again, very context-specific. You would expect that in New York and Boston since they appreciate real talent. :)

Where is the communication? We are not asking for a lot! Why are we still waiting to hear if we will see Celine live when we paid a lot to see her?

Come on Celine… throw a bone!

Has anyone tried to call the concert venues? At this point it would seem irresponsible of them to cancel this close given a lot of people travel internationally to see her.

The silence is very strange at this point, given she had health issues we would need more then a short video about Ukraine... Venues probably have no new information until the official one is published. The European leg of the tour would be a huge step back to the spotlight for Celine after two years, so an official statement/video is expected for the fans who need to plan their trips...

What is it you’re looking for?

A statement that says: “the scheduled Courage World Tour dates are scheduled to go ahead.”

They could announce that tomorrow and then Celine gets sick again or a new covid variant emerges. She could start the shows then cancel the second half of Europe. She could do 30 shows then cancel the rest. There are too many variables. Until you hear that they’re cancelled you presume they go ahead. Very strange to assume they’re cancelled until they go ahead.

I will say, they could simply even just reuse some random old rehearsal pic and say “back on the road in 41 days! Hope to see you there!”… but the lack of them doing that makes me think that they’re seeing how long they can wait it out to ensure Celine is well enough to do it, in the case that she’s still not 100% and they’re just hoping she pulls through in time

This is a tour though. I don't think they are working under the assumptions that fans have been making travel arrangements since the point of tours is that they are the ones traveling to each country/city.

A simple count down tweet is likely all we will get if the show is happening.

The circumstances generally are far from normal, the covid, the war near by, and plus Celine's health. I just think some kind of aknowledgemnet would be fair. If she is doing rehearsals make a simple picture and post it on the instagram...

But this is Celine we are talking about. People do travel to see her even if she is the one on tour. I have tickets for Birmingham, Dublin, Paris and Malta!

I have tickets for Poland and I’m scared to book flights. If I did book them next week and a cancellation followed I’d be super pissed. There’s a time for announcements and in my head that time has passed.

I think as someone said they are waiting for a while, since her health and pandemic both are unpredictable, she might get better or worse according to time, although hoping for the former.

But yes, it's not good to let the fans hang around with confusion, even a little hint might work. But I guess the tour is going ahead since they are silent for a long time about this, and if the tour would have been cancelled, they would have told us by now.

But how long did they wait to cancel Resorts World? Wasn’t it only three or four weeks before the show?
